Well, from this distance all she could really tell about his eyes were that they were sort of reddish, not that there were any sort of flames about them. It would probably take a long while until she got close enough to see that. But she did notice how his wings dipped and her expression turned to a puzzled one over his actions. (He hadn't looked on fire before, because she hadn't looked down).
"Teach me one," Olivia said a little more quickly than she would normally. The nervous feeling was beginning to creep back on her, and she did not like it at all. Maybe he would pick up on it in her tone. Andrew didn't seem to be making any other suggestions on locations. What if the bench caught fire?

“What game? I know Gold fish, Crazy 8s, Solitaire, War, Rummy. You can’t play solitaire two player though. War is pretty fun, but it takes forever to finish. I know a lot more but those are easy to teach and play with two.” He didn’t have the coins for poker. “Was he making her nervous? Ahhh, where did you want to sit.” They couldn’t play cards standing up that well.

A few of those sounded familiar, though with the cloud of nerves they seemed to have slipped away. So, in a small attempt to just find a solution, Olivia grabbed onto one of the first suggestions he was rolling with. "War sounds okay," even if it.. wait, he said it would take a while. Well, not like she minded things that took a while.
She didn't answer his second question at first, mulling over the options even though just sitting right where they were didn't seem too bad. Water was nice, it helped against fire even though the ghoul had no intention to use it on Andrew by any means. But he had made an earlier suggestion at that too, even though... she wasn't sure about it. "You mentioned a bench?
Or... maybe just here?" Well, throwing her own out, desperate times perhaps.

“Or just a picnic table. It will be easier to play on a table.” And easier to hide his tail from her. He was just glade that it was his tail and not someplace more awkward like his horns. He never thought about it much before; his mother had one on her horn, but now he realized it would make life much easier here. “Or here, here is fine.” He mumbled. He had just wanted to check on her. His tail dipped as he bunt/dried the ground under him and flopped down on his spot. Smothering out a random twig with one hand he pulled out his deck shuffling a few times.

Hm, a table surface would probably be a little easier for a card game, Olivia had to agree. But staying here had been stuck on her mind given her company; they were near a large body of water after all.
Thankfully she didn't really catch the actions of his table, still refusing to look at it as she ventured a few steps closer to him and sat herself down across from him. The distance between them was still pretty pathetic, like awkward junior highschoolers at their first dance. The otokoyo didn't seem to mind this, however, placing a long judging type of stare upon the flame demon before she plopped herself down against Olivia's knee.
The pair watched Andrew shuffle the deck, one a little more fascinated than the other (take a guess which one!)

Andrew shuffled and then split the deck in half, quickly dulling cards alternately on for her and on for him until it was empty. He smiled at her putting his tail behind him, and hopefully out of sight. Not much attention was paid to the otokoyo. It was well behaved and not bothering anything so Andrew didn’t mind it’s presence. “Ok, so here is how this goes. We take the top card of our deck and flip it. The person with a higher card keeps both. We keep going until one of us had the whole deck or gives up. If we both have the same card, we play war, I’ll show you when we come to it. Ok?” chirigami We can roll dice to see who "Wins" if you want.

Had she played this game before? Olivia squinted her eyes for a moment trying to recall if the rules that Andrew had given her seemed in the least bit familiar. Well, they kind of did. They seemed very simple, even to her.
"Sounds alright," she smiled as she reached out for her side of the deck and flipped over the top card. So it began.

Andrew flipped with a practiced hand watching and nudging her cards towards her and grabbing his own into a pile at the base of his legs, falling into a rhythm. He knew the rules where fairly easy so he wasn’t surprised when she picked it up quickly. Maybe she had even played before, but review the rules never hurt. It allowed time to pass without having to fill it with bothersome words, and yet allowed conversation to happen. He chose not much except to mention the game for the moment, until they both pulled 8s. “Alright. Here is when we war, put two cards face down and then flip the third.” He did so, flipping over a red 9. chirigami just randomize a card between 1 and 13

Despite the name of the game, Olivia was finding it to be a rather peaceful and relaxing. A rhythm in flipping over the cards one by one, winning some and losing others. It was like she could forget that she was an undead hanging out with a flame demon, she even scooted a little closer and just kept her eyes on the cards.
Stuck in a find of zone, she almost just kept going even as they flipped over the same card. It wasn't until Andrew spoke up that she stopped herself. She blinked, oh, this was maybe where the name came from. As instructed, Olivia put down two cards face down and flipped the last one revealing a black colored Jack. "I think I won this one?" She smiled playfully.

“Yep.” He smiled at the ghoul. He didn’t even care that he had lost the round. He had won a smile. Bringing the cards had been a good idea, she seemed to be enjoying herself, though Olivia was at times difficult to read. She didn’t talk much. He was ok with that. He flipped over the other cards showing what he lost. “Darn one of my kings. Looks like you are wining.” Despite his words he’s lips twisted in amusement. It was a game of pure chance after all. He shifted and flipped his next card getting back into the rhythm until the next war. Prolonged siting had made him forget that he wasn’t in the most fire safe place. He didn’t even notice the scent of something burning, something that smelled oddly like grass and wood. chirigami oh hi, the grass is on fire. oops.

Confirmation over her progress gained Andrew an even larger smile. Sometimes she just seemed to have that kind of luck even though others she just didn't, which was all the same and fine to her really. But it was nice to have this and it was allowing her to spend time with an unlikely friend and not have to worry about things. Lost in the moment perhaps.
Or not. Well, it would take her a while to notice the burning as her eye line seemed to just be fixated to the cards and Andrew's face - oh, his eyes were a rather red color. One hand flipped over the next card - obviously much lower than a king - while the other straightened out the pile of those she gained. Then the smell hit her nose and her eyes grew a little wide and worried.
"Um...." Flight or fight wasn't settling in yet, but oh was she not sure about this.

She was smiling he was pretty happy for that, so much so that he relaxed, flipping his card not caring wither it was him or her that one. He didn’t really notice the fire crawling across the grass away from him. He did notice her reaction. “Huh? What’s the matter?” he sat up looking for an intruder upon their little game but instead saw… oops. “Oh, it’s ok, just give me a minute.” The fire hadn’t gotten far, the grass was waterlogged from being close to the lake so it was only able to smolder. He turned and smoldered it out with his hands. “It’s just some grass nothing to worry about.” He tries to reassure her, hoping that his own calm would let her know everything was under control. Really, this little accident was more embarrassing than anything. His cheeks turned a little pink.

Her eyes were growing wider as the smell grew, still not able to see the flames itself that were really too small and blocked from view. But they were there and thankfully not for long thanks to the moisture in the grass and Andrew's quick work.
Still, she had to take a moment to recollect herself. Not a long one and soon enough her posture slouched and she looked less like a frightened deer and more like an other wide eyed happy Olivia. A smile even returned. Didn't Andrew often repeat that he would deal with his flames, she could at least remember that. Maybe he was making good of that promise. It was a step into that right direction that she hoped for, that this friendship could work.
"Thank you," she told him in her quiet voice, reaching out to flip another card.

“Sure, no problem.” He watched her relax. Crises averted. He dusted off his hands and doubled checks to make sure it was really out before finding a better place to put his tail more conscious to not forget about it again. Why couldn’t the world just be full of fire everywhere? Even some nice sand or rock everywhere would prevent this little problem. Trying not to dwell on his mistake, Andrew flipped another card hoping to get back into the rhythm of the game.

It was easier to move on from an incident when you put it out of your mind, which was what Olivia was doing right now. Out of sight, out of mind and out of mind even more. Nicer to smile and all.
The wight flipped over another card, losing another card in the process to Andrew. Her deck seemed to be getting smaller. Hm. The flame demon seemed to be rather good at this game.
