Aminah watched as her friend struggled with saying the words out loud. It was true, Keilana didn't seem like the type that would be a mother any time soon, but life is unpredictable and sometimes it turns out wonderfully. Even though Keilana's turn of events weren't planned and were somewhat troublesome and could possibly end with hurt depending on Chalcedony's response to the news, Aminah was excited and ready to help her friend through it all.
Motherhood was wonderful and Aminah would be happy to watch Keilana realize just how great it was when her baby was born. She gave her friend another squeeze and smiled when the word mother came out of her mouth.
She stood from the seats Kei and her had been sitting in and moved into the small kitchen. "I'll be here waiting when you are." She began to rummage through her small pantry. "Of course I can feed you... though I'll have to go out to the garden and grab some stuff to make. Anything you'd prefer?"

Looking up she was so glad that after meeting the girl the first time that she had continued to be friends with her. She recalled thinking how Animah was too...happy too cheerful but..now she was so happy to have her as her closest friend. Her emotions were a roller coaster and she could of burst into tears when she saw Animah get up to leave. It was silly of her to want to cry, it wasn't as if Animah was going to vanish and never come back.
"Ah...I could eat just about anything..." She managed to say brightening when she started to imagine all the sorts of things she could possible eat to ease her growling stomach pain. Thinking about eating only made her stomach growl in anger. A blush crossed across her features and she consciously covered her stomach with her arm in embarrassment.

Aminah laughed at Keilana's stomach. "I guess it's urgent." She scratched her head in thought before deciding what it was that would be good for Keilana and that she could pick right now. Some of her crops hadn't reached maturity and it was a shame; some of it would be so good for Keilana right now.
"I'll be back in a couple of minutes." She called out as she exited the back door directly into her garden. She would grab plenty of fruits and maybe chop some roots for a brew. Soup would be good for Keilana right now and she knew the roots would help her stomach settle, and the fruits she had in mind were full of nutrients for a growing belly. She smiled at the thought of a little one running around and sighed in envy. Aminah would have to wait to meet someone before she could have a bunch of her own.
She shook her head and continued to pull leaves and fruits from her garden. Of course the fruits would be the side. Fruits never went well in hot dishes.

Keilana sat still feeling a bit sick to her stomach but now so hungry she wondered if that was the reason she felt so badly. It could be now...since she felt like she could eat her arm. She tried to distract herself by looking over the plants and the front of the house. But her thoughts kept going back to her stomach...the significance it held and she couldn't help but want to cover it up with her arms again.
The couple of minutes felt like eternity...it wasn't fair. Fidgeting on the spot she felt like she would go crazy standing there even though she hadn't been left alone all that long.

Aminah swung open the door to her house and re-entered with an armful of ingredients to cook up.
She laid it all out on the table in her small kitchen area and picked up a couple of the fruits. "Here Kei, I know you're probably starving, so you can have some fruits while I cook up the soup." She handed a couple of different fruits to her friend. "They won't do much to help with being sick, but one calms nerves and the other just tastes yummy."
She grinned at her friend before turning to continue peeling, chopping and boiling all the other ingredients. It wouldn't take that long after bringing all of it to a simmer. Soup should be done probably before Keilana could ask for more fruit.

Calming nerves? Keilana almost snatched the fruit from out of Animah's hands, and she gave an apologetic smile when she gently took the fruit instead. Taking a bite she gave a bit of a face at the taste but continued to eat it anyway. Suddenly having food in her mouth she felt like she was half starved.
"You are the best Animah." Was her only comment as she watched as Animah went about getting the soup ready. She was really jealous of Animah's skill at cooking. Compared to her own ..rather haphazard methods of cooking.
"How do you manage to make it look so easy?"

Aminah laughed at Kei's comments and shrugged her shoulders slightly. "Practice I guess. I might not be too great on surviving in the wilderness, but I know my way around a house." She scooped up all of her cut seasonings and added it to the boiling broth. "My mom likes to cook, and it rubbed off a little on me."
Aminah stirred the pot as she thought about it. She did like to cook she guessed, but she never got a chance to feed anyone but herself lately. Maybe she should start inviting others over for food more often. Though she didn't exactly know many people besides Keilana. Aminah instantly perked up. Maybe once the baby was there, she could invite all of Kei's family to a dinner of sorts.
She would have to arrange for an outside meal though. She looked around the small one-room house she lived in; it defintely would be too cramped inside.
She brought the wooden spoon from the pot over the fire to her mouth, blowing lightly before tasting the contents. She added a little more seaoning before deeming it fit for Keilana and moved the pot further from the fire. "All done!"
She beamed at Keilana and scooped some soup into a bowl, bringing that and a spoon for her friend. "It's still too hot, but it should help with your stomach problems."

Keilana felt her mouth water as food was declared ready. After all she felt starved even if she had eaten the fruit only moments ago. The idea of there being food that will help her stomach was almost too good to be true, she hovered behind Animah's shoulder while she cooked and now was trying to look patient as Animah dished it out and came to feed her.
the look of eagerness on her face was probably priceless and she did her best this time around to make sure she didn't snatch it out of her hand. Gently she took the bowl and then she took a spoon and carefully went to sip it. After all it was hot and she was warned.
When it entered her mouth it had a bit of bitterness but on a whole was quite tasty. She expected her stomach to clench in protest, which it did out of reflex but...after a moment relaxed quite happy with what it was being fed. A sigh of relief escaped her lips.
"Well.. you will need to show me how to do it sometime..since I will need to cook...for more than just..myself now."

Aminah giggled half at Keilana's reaction to the soup and half at her own relief that her friend liked it. She laughed harder at the sigh Keilana gave as she could only imagine her stomach was settling already.
"Kei, I would be happy to show you!" She didn't want to disturb Keilana's eating, so instead of reaching for her hands, she placed one on her friend's shoulder. Keilana had something special growing inside of her now and Aminah would do anything she could to help Keilana get prepared. And cooking classes could be fun.

The idea of cooking classes came to a bit of a shock, though she supposed she would need to learn if she was going to have a child to look after. She wouldn't say that she was a terrible cook, she had done her best to improvise growing up, but compared to Animah it was laughable to claim anything she had made was considered edible.
Feeling her friends hand on her shoulder though caused her to pause and look to her friend. She was so very lucky to have a women like her in her life, and perhaps a nice 'aunt' of sorts for the child to learn and look up to?
That is..right she still needed to tell her brother. Something she was dreading.
"Thanks Animah, I think I should be going home though...otherwise my brother will wonder what happened to me. I'll have to take you up on those classes though...give me a reason to escape from my brother's gaze."

Aminah looked out of the window as if checking the time. She supposed it would be about time for Keilana to head back now. It wasn't getting dark yet, but they had been talking quite a while even before Aminah decided to make her friend a meal. She would have to agree with Keilana's leaving if she were to keep her special little secret a secret for little while longer.
She couldn't help but think about how Jacinthus would take it when he knew... and how long Keilana planned on keeping it secret from him.
"Of course! We can get together anytime Kei." She offered to take the bowl from her friend's hands. Hmmm, maybe she would have some soup herself. Her stomach was starting to protest its lack of contents, and she hadn't eaten all day thanks to her work. "And let me know when you're ready to go find this guy." She winked at her friend. Ooooh, it would be so exciting!

Giving a smile she reached out to give her friend another tight hug, it felt so good to have a friend like Animah. How ironic as the first time she had ever met the girl she hadn't liked her at all that much. Thinking her too sweet and innocent but...how much she relished that sweetness now.
"Thanks Animah, I will make sure to see you soon." Keilana stated as she finally parted from Animah's embrace. She fully intended to take her up on her cooking lessons, it was a very good reason to be escaping her brothers gaze more often than not.
Moving she went to leave, her stomach full and calm for once though the implications of her pregnancy still weighed on her thoughts.

Aminah gladly accepted the hug with a large grin. All of this sudden news was just so exciting. She was already going over the things that she should be bringing on the soon-to-be trip in her head. A lot of it she would have to prepare right around now in order for it to be done on time for the trip, and ready for a moment's notice.
She let Keilana end the hug and nodded at her thanks, waving to her friend as she left. Once Keilana was gone, she sighed with a light heart and reached for a clean bowl to pour herself some soup.
