Bloody Hell Hound IT JUST HAPPENED OUT OF NOWHERE I AM SORRY.
And then her heart froze.
Without thinking, she moved. Her heart betrayed her, and her eyes closed before she could stop them. The pounding in her chest burst as she tilted her head closed, hands moving down to touch the others, gently gripping them in her palm.
Stop.
It was too late. Her lips touched stitched ones, and within five seconds of doing so Near jerked away, cheeks a violent red and eyes wide with both horror at what she had done, and a fear. s**t. s**t. No no no. She hadn't. She hadn't! Not to Cadissa! Not to the one who was so gentle and easily frightened. No! What if Cadissa fled? What if she disgusted the other?
"W-wait." She stumbled over her words as her heart hammed faster. She needed to fix this. "I d-didn't- I slipped! Please don't freak out. Please. Please Cadissa." The woman looked absolutely terrified of what Cadissa might do. What had she done? Why? Why couldn't she have kept her feelings smothered? s**t... no, no, what if Cadissa feared her now?
"Don't go. I won't do it again. Please."

What -- Near had just... Kissed her, right? Cadissa could have sworn she just felt another set of lips upon her own. Unless she was just imagining things or something. no no, that was DEFINITELY a kiss. Lips-to-lips. And to add to it, the other had been gripping her paws as well.
There was a heavy thudding in her chest. An unfamiliar feeling in her chest.What WAS this feeling? Such intense pounding... But she HAD felt small poundings in her chest similar to this one before. And they all seemed to happen around Near.
Giving a squeaky whimper, she only felt the need to freak out because Near was doing as such. But she did her best to be as calm as she could. Cadissa backed away a bit and flailed her paws. Not because she wanted to ward the other off or anything, but because she wanted her to calm down. A series of whimpers and -- Words? Why yes, it sounded like she was trying to speak despite her inability to move her lips. So it was like mumbling, only in her throat. Unfortunately one would not be able to make out what the words would even be no matter how hard they tried.
It probably looked like she WAS panicking when she wasn't. And that thought made her panic a bit. With no other idea of what to do she rushed forward and practically tackle-hugged Near, nuzzling her cheek against the others cheek.

The others whimper sent a spike of fear within Near's heart. The other was panicking, and Near was close to crying. What had she done? She watched the flailing, the backing away, and then the series of whimpers, her heart plummeting as long lashes grew wet with the tears about to pour. She hadn't meant to frighten the one person who meant so much. And then, the other jerked forward, making Near recoil in slight alarm.
"C-Cadi- oompf." Weight. The other had tackled her. A warm cheek nuzzled against her own and Near froze, hands raised and tail stiff as she tried to make out what was happening. Was Cadissa scared and clinging for comfort? Was she... perhaps... accepting? The others scent reached her nose, reminding her all too well of that urging need to just claim those lips again. s**t! Stop! She wasn't even sure how the other frickin' felt!
"Cadissa." Her voice held a firm warning as she lightly pushed the other away from her cheek, hands holding the other still. Her eyes narrowed gently, moving slightly closer until her nose touched the others.
"Do you hate this? If you stay this close I may do it again. Is that... what you want?" She almost felt her heart begging for the other to stay right there. Her heart pounded violently as her blood grew warmer, hands gripping the other firmly. What was this feeling? No. She knew it. She knew the word for her heart and her need for the other to stay right there. She knew what it all meant.
Love.

The vixens short, fluffy tail wagged rapidly. Cadissa honestly didn't care if the other kissed her again. She actually WANTED Near to do it again. Though she had to wonder -- What did it feel like to Near? To kiss stitched lips that were frozen in place. Did it feel like kissing normal lips? Could she feel the stitches? Near didn't mind, right? Well, DUH Near didn't mind. Why else would she 'threaten' to do it again?
Another small whimper sounded from her throat as she gave a small shrug. For the moment she couldn't quite respond. Wait no -- She COULD respond. she totally could respond! Cadissa was smiling on the inside when the thought hit her. This time, SHE made the move to kiss Near on the lips -- Raising a paw up to place it on the others cheek as she did so.
And to her -- It felt absolutely wonderful. Kissing another like this. Cadissa had never imagined such a thing happening. But it was happening. Almost too good to believe, but she believed it nonetheless.

The small shrug sent Near's heart crashing. Had Cadissa really hated it, or perhaps, not cared? The woman almost recoiled back and apologized, however she was caught off-guard by the others movement. An ear flicked up when Cadissa moved forward, and then she had just enough time to gasp audibly before Cadissa returned the kiss. Her tail immediately wrapped around Cadissa, arms pulling her closer as she returned the gesture. What was seconds felt like minutes to Near when she finally pulled away, eyes glittering with both joy and a flick of worry.
What did this mean for them now?
"Cadissa." Near nuzzled into the others shoulder, avoiding the eye to both prevent it from getting hurt, and it from ruining the moment. "I love you." Her voice trembled, as vulnerable as she felt. "I have for so long. I've adored you for so very long.... I just never knew how to tell you."
Her hands clutched Cadissa gently, trembling as the woman nuzzled into Cadissa. This was her dream, wasn't it? To hold the other like this and confess. To be accepted like this. It had been all she ever wanted.

Arms wrapped around the other in return. Cadisaa happily pressed herself against the other as the feeling of being so close to Near was... Well, amazing. Nice. Something she had grown so attached to. Odd as well - To be so attached to another like this. Never had she ever imagined she'd find someone she could trust. Not since -
No. Don't think about the past. It'll ruin this. Ruin it big time.
I love you
The words echoed through her head. Love. Love -? Near... Near LOVED her?! Despite her eyes? Despite her looks? Despite everything? Was this love like... Love love or 'love'? Stop it. Stop over-thinking this.
Cadissa knew she felt the same way. She did, she truly did! But how... How would she express it? She couldn't speak. Only whimper and such. Actions were limited. Ah-ha! Idea~ Cadissa held on to Near as she began to whimper. But these whimpers weren't her usual whimpers.
"Hmmmmiihhh...Hmmmm-hmmmiii...eeeeei...hmmmmmmmm...!" Then, she stopped. Did these whimpers even sound like the words she was trying to say? Or did they just sound as pathetic as they normally do? Goddesses, all she wanted to do was say 'I love you too, Near!'. But...She couldn't, could she? Not even with whimpers.

Near froze as Cadissa tried to speak, head tilting. Her ears flicked, and quietly she watched the woman. Did she need words to understand what Cadissa meant?
No.
The embrace was enough.
The response to her kiss was enough.
The fact Cadissa trusted her this much was enough.
It all meant one thing, and without words Near knew how her beloved felt.
Nuzzling into Cadissa once more, Near held onto her as if she'd fall apart were she to let go. Her eyes closed, a smile reaching across her lips. "I know." She murmured against the others warm body. "You don't need to force it out. I know how you feel." With a squeeze, Near pulled back and smiled gently at Cadissa, tail wagging a mile a minute, betraying her feelings. Her wings fluttered briefly, hands raising to play with Cadissa's hair nervously. A slight blush was obvious on Near's face, one hand raising to try and rub it off.
"Ah, I.... now I'm embarrassed. I didn't really how sappy that all came off, oh gosh."

But oh how badly the vixen wished she could say the words out loud though. She felt as though it would be much more meaningful.
Nonetheless the sad truth was that she couldn't say those words. And she more than likely would never be able to either. Would her actions be meaningful enough to Near? They certainly seemed to be enough - For now at least. "...Mmmm-mmm mm mm..." Cadissa 'spoke' once more though this time she wasn't really trying to make words come out of her like the last time. This time she was merely responding to the other.
I love you.
Those words played through her mind over and over again. Near loved her - HER. Of all foxes out there to love; Near. Loved. HER. And it gave her such a warm feeling within her heart to know this.
As Near played with her hair, Cadissa leaned into her touch. A touch she'd never want to lose, a touch she'd never want to live without. Her own tail began to wag quickly to show her happiness that she felt in this moment.
