Starry grinned a bit, looking up at him. It made her miss the past, yet strangely enough to her, look forward to the future. The demon couldn't help but smile at the thought.
"Huh.. It's been a while since I've felt quite that carefree." It was true, she'd not slept on the beach in ages. It was an interesting thought at least.
Sparkle? Starry looked at her arms, spinning around to see where she sparkled. Where on earth would she be doing that? Certainly not the gold dangling through her wings right? Starry looked a little stressed, trying figure out where on the isle she could sparkle!
"Oh guardian's I'm so embarrassed"

"Really?! Man, you should try it again sometime. It's so... freeing." Aulii grinned, carefree was the way he loved to live his life. He couldn't help but laugh as she spun around at his sparkle comment. "Careful, don't hurt yourself." He teased, his voice sounded kind though. "Don't be embarrassed, you just can't see it." He smiled and did a quick spin of his own before allowing himself to fall gently on the sand. Since they were going to be talking for a bit, or so it seemed, he might as well sprawl out.

Starry blushed, thinking she may just have to try sleeping on the beach again. But then, why had she stopped? Was it because it hurt her in the morning, or was it for her family? For some strange reason, the demon just couldn't remember.
"I can't see it?" She blinked, eyes wide. Why was she sparkling but not able to see it herself? The demon frowned a bit, sitting down about the same time he did. He was cute when she spun like that. Starry definitely appreciated that. Guardians she felt old compared to the spry young angel next to her.

The angel smiled politely, "When I'm on the beach looking at the waves, I can only see the outside of the wave. When I surf though, I actually go inside the wave... and its like the most beautiful thing ever, but I can only see it when I'm surfing!" Aulii was feeling particularly wise at the moment, "You're like a wave... and you're standing on the beach. Does that make sense? It made sense when he was talking about the waves, but now that he was comparing her to a wave, well a wave couldn't be on the beach. "You're just standing somewhere different then me." He summed up, that was the moral of his story, yes.

Starry blinked, trying to follow his story. Finally, she got it, and blushed immediately. "So you're saying my beauty is something I can't see?" Her head tilted to the side. The demon didn't really get it, but it wasn't the first time someone had somewhat complimented her by using a metaphor.
The demon grinned a bit.

Aulii's head moved from side to side, well that had been much more simply put then his very wise story, but he supposed it meant the same thing. "Yeah... pretty much." the angel agreed. "I don't suppose you surf, do you?" He smiled at her, he was certain another surfer would know exactly what he was talking about. "It's the best feeling in the world. Hm, sun is almost gone." It was almost completely dark now, no illusions necessary.

Starry shook her head. "Never heard of it even." She smiled, blushing still. "I believe you though." The demon shrugged. Her green eyes flicked up to the sky, smile growing wider as the starts started appearing slowly in the dark nighttime sky.
"Gorgeous night isn't it?"

His eyes widened, "Seriously? Aw man. You have a piece of wood, and you let the waves in the water pick it up, and then you stand up. That's the simplest way to put it, but its really way more awesome then that." He loved surfing, but Aulii wasn't going to bore the lovely lady with the details if it wasn't something she was interest in. "Yeah it is something." Aulii responded in a distant sounding voice as he stared straight up at the sky while he laid in the sand. "So what do you like to do other then make stars, Miss Starry?"

Starry nodded, smiling as he explained what surfing was. It sounded interesting at least. She may have to try it sometime. The sparkled demon kept her eyes fixed on the sky. She wasn't making the stars appear, but it was amazing to her none the less. Something she'd never tire of.
"Um.. Mostly I fish, or gather berries for food. I used to raise children, but they've all grown and moved away for their own lives and children." She sounded a bit sad. No, the thought of her children leaving wasn't a bad thing. She'd done her job, and done it as best she could... Right?

Aulii's eyes moved from the sky to Starry. It sounded like she was just surviving, where was that thing that might bring her joy? He could hear the sadness in her voice as she talked about her kids. It made Aulii wonder if there was a man in her life, or maybe there used to be. "Ah, hard to watch them grow up?" He asked her. Aulii could only sympathize with having kids, he was old enough to have them, but he had never settled down enough to acquire them. "Can't say I really know what its like, but it sounds hard? You ever see your grandkids?"

Starry closed her eyes, shaking her head. "It's hard, but... It's a happy pain." She pressed a hand over her chest. She loved every child that she'd raised. Even if they didn't always care for her.
"Not anymore." Green eyes opened once more, looking over at Aulii. "I did with the first few grandchildren, but... They've since forgotten me, or don't know I exist anymore." She gave a small, sad smile. "I don't even know how many grandchildren, or great grandchildren I have anymore. I'm sure there's a ton."

"Oh wow, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to..." He could see it was a painful topic, Aulii had known it too when he had pressed the questions, but still... Aulii's eyes widened, a ton of kids?! "Wow, that's quite a bit." Aulii's eyes looked back to the sky, after raising a bunch of kids, it did seem like it would be hard to get back into normal life. "You should try surfing." he said bluntly after a moment of silence. This female needed something to occupy her time with other then feeding herself, surfing was the only thing he had to offer.

Starry shrugged, closing her eyes again. "I don't see most of them mind you." There was a wink in her voice. She only had three children herself, but there were three of them to go out and procreate.
"Maybe I will." Starry nodded in agreement. "Something to do other than feeding the 'guin and myself." This brought a smile to her face. It was nice to have someone try and take her mind off things.

"So... you could be hanging out with one of your grandchildren right now..." Aulii said mysteriously, he knew it wasn't true. "Don't worry I'm not. But do you ever wonder if the pae you run into might be a relative?" Aulii never felt like he had to worry about such things. Although, with the way Diona was procreating he might have to start wondering soon... "Guin?" Aulii tilted his head to the side, "Who is Guin?" Aulii guessed that was her husband, he could admit to himself that he was a bit disappointed, but it was to be expected since she seemed to be pretty family-oriented.

Starry shrugged. Something told her she wouldn't like all of her grandchildren. "I'm always curious. I look for a little yellow, a star, sparkling. Sometimes a clover..." she smiled, remembering the traits of her own.
The 'guin? Oh right, she didn't explain Akira to him. "I call her Akira. Little funny creature. She has a beak and looks like a bird, but she doesn't fly. The best I've gotten from her is that she's a 'guin." She smiled. "I get the fish for her. The fruits and plants are for me. She hates the stuff."
