Brody kept his own gaze on Kross as he circled, shifting in place to keep himself faced towards his opponent. Then he got to thinking about an old move he did when he was a rookie, and he wondered if it would work now.
Pulling his right hand back, Brody ran forward at Kross, primed and ready for a heavy strike. But on the last step between them, he shuffled his footing a bit and tried to fake Kross out with a childish kick to the shin.

Kross could see Brody coming in quick with his hand cocked back like he was coming in for a punch. Using his as an oppurtunity to get back on the offensive, Kross lifted his leg and thrusts his right foot into Brody's left shin in an attempt to cut the veteran off before he comes in too close to him as well as try and put Brody on his knees and set him up for follow up.

With no time to pull his foot back, Brody and Kross' feet collided with a soft thud. The shock of the hit traveled up his leg, and Brody took a few steps back to let the recoil run it's course. He kept his eye on Kross, waiting to see if he pulled anything funny.

As thee shock traveled up Kross's leg, he took a few steps back also and then started to advance. He cautiously moved toward Brody and held up his hands to offer a tie up.

Brody's face changed into a look of amused disbelief in response to Kross' offer. The guy spits in his face and refuses his match-opening tie up, and now wants to do one of his own? It was a strange sight to be sure. But Brody went to comply, lifting his arms up to meet Kross'....
...before shifting his footing once again and trying to sneak a surprise left jab between Kross' arms.

It was painfully obvious that Kross was setting up a trap and bhe thought this dude was going to fall for it but before he knew it a fist came crashing into his chest. Using the pain in his chest to fuel his adrenaline, Kross strikes back to immediatly send a right hook to Brody's jaw.

Drawing in his prior boxing experience, Brody leaned out of the way of Kross' wild hook, letting the punch sail past his chin. "Gotta do better than that, mate." With a smile, Brody pulled his left fist back and let loose a heavy hook of his own aimed at the right side of Kross' head.

Putting his experience in street brawls to good use, Kross swayed his head to the left before ducking under his hook and steppng in closer while swinging his fist up to send a left hook aimed at the corner of his jaw. "B*tch!" Kross grunted as he tried to deliver the punch.

Brody reacted as quick as he could to Kross' sudden counter attack and shuffled sideways, narrowly avoiding his opponents uppercut. But Kross was resorting to name calling, which probably meant he was getting angry. An angry fighter wasn't a focused fighter, so this worked well for Brody. In an attempt to breed a bit of frustration, Brody went for a quick slap to the back of Kross' head as he backed away from any retaliation.

Kross was indeed getting a frustrated and when Brody slapped him Kross took it while holding up his hand so he could try catch the man's wrist before Brody could get away and if he was successful with his capture, Kross would pull him forward to wrap his opposite arm around Brody's neck while holding body's arm over his head before leaping back to pull Brody forward so he would fall face first into the canvas and force him to pay some dirt.

Thanks to Kross' offbeat strategy of holding a hand up just in case Brody made a move, Brody was pulled forward and off his feet, and his head was driven into the mat. It was a solid hit, and Brody simply remained face down, letting the shock from the sudden hit subside.

It looked like Kross was able to get the drop on Brody and after realizing that Kross rolled off his back and pushed Brody over so he would lay on his own back. Kross hooks Brody's left leg as he goes in for a pin.

"1!....2!.."
Brody managed to get his shoulder up milliseconds after the referee's hand came down for the two. As soon as Kross broke the cover, Brody rolled himself out of the ring and leaned on the apron, getting himself a breather to get his head in order.

Kross stood up and looked out in the crowd to raise both of his hands before turning around and continuing to wait for Brody to get back to the ring.

After his breather, Brody took a step away from the ring and looked up to his opponent, wondering why he didn't try to attack him. Keeping his eyes on Kross, Brody cautiously approached the ring and rolled himself in, before attempting to get back to his feet before Kross had a chance to strike.
