"Thank you, thank you~." Junko gave a showy over-the-top bow and then offered her best friend her arm. "And you look perfect as always. Shall we depart, Lizzy dear?" She attempted a proper, snooty English accent...but with her pre-existing accent it sounded just silly.

Lizzy responded to the bow with a curtsy, although it probably just looked really odd, considering the way she was dressed. Then, taking Junko's arm, she covered her mouth with her free hand before giggling and smiling, since that was how those posh court ladies on the skelevision do it.
"Why of course, Junko darling. Let us stun the world," She fluttered her eyelashes, "Ohoho~ Where to, my darling?"

"We shall acquire eyescream and then look upon what the peons find to be valuable in the surrounding shops." Junko informed her friend with a haughty tone, fanning herself with an imaginary fan as the pair of them walked out of Lizzy's dorm. That self-conscious part of her did rear its ugly head when they started to walk out in public dressed like this, her heart racing too fast and her chest feeling too tight around her lungs. Haha! She'd be fine. She'd be okay. She could do this. Just one day. If you can survive this, you can survive anything. Nevertheless she did cling to Lizzy a little tighter. "So how have you been, my dearest? It's been some time since we could--" Oh shoot! Posh court ladies did not say 'hang out'. Not unless someone was literally hanging! "......hang out." ******** posh court society's rules!

"Oh, I'm sure there will be a lot of odd commoner items," Lizzy replied with a soft 'humph', to show her disdain for the aforementioned items... Even if she was pretty excited about going window shopping with her friend. When she realized that Junko was clinging to her a little tighter, she patted her on her hand.
If she was alone, she would never ever ever getting back together walk around in public looking like this... But she felt a little safer with Junko around. Misery loves company?
"I've been..." She pursed her lips, and then sighed, tilting her head so that it was sort of resting on Junko's shoulder, "I suppose I feel fine most of the time, but some times, I feel dreadful... Because my heart still aches a little."
She inhaled deeply, and smiled, raising her head, "But all things considered, I'm doing pretty well! I-I mean... I'll get over it, sooner or later. Mother always told me that heartache won't last forever!"

Junko tilted her head to one side, resting her head against Lizzy's. She was still feeling her breakup with Mac? But he was so...so..well..ugh. She couldn't hate him as she used to, he'd actually down her a bit of kindness she hadn't been expecting. Why couldn't he do that before? Though even he admitted despite all of the advice he still disliked her. She squeezed Lizzy's hand. At least now she could relate a little better to the heartache.
When Lizzy raised her head Junko did the same, threading her fingers through the other ghoul's and regarding her with a small frown. It wouldn't last forever? Well that was good.
She suddenly looked away, her expression almost worried. Junko did feel heartache, but it bothered her that it didn't seem to be as strong as she thought it would be. It was more like a dull pain in her chest that intensified if she was around a happy couple, or if she saw something that reminded her of their time together..
"Yeah..mother knows best~." Junko sang playfully, forcing a smile. "How long has it been..?" She tried to keep the question light, but Junko was asking for her own sake mostly. How long had it been for Lizzy and Mac and Lizzy was still feeling it? Was there any hope for Junko?

"I try not to keep track of it," Lizzy answered softly, looking at the ground for a bit, afraid that if she were to think too hard about it, she would tear up and ruin their day out, "A few Octobers...? I would rather not remember..." She paused, looking sheepish as she lowered her voice even further, "Sorry..."
She wanted Junko to have fun, not listen to her moping!
"Enough about me though!" She smiled, shaking her head, "How have you been?"

Understandable. Junko didn't want to keep track either, and so she couldn't fault Lizzy for it. A few Octobers..that was a long time. She blinked and looked at Lizzy when the ghoul suddenly apologized. What? Why? "No, no. Don't be sorry. It's fine. I'm here~." Junko squeezed her hand for reassurance. See? Junko would be here at her side, she wouldn't let her go. Not her best friend. When asked how she was her smile was strained. "Okay.." Junko kept that up for a few seconds before she sighed and looked away. "No, that's a lie. It's been...well..excuse my language but it's been s**t." She frowned. When Junko spoke again her voice was barely a whisper. "I...I broke up with Seiji.."

Lizzy's initiate response was to wonder if she had heard wrong; however, after taking a second look at the expression on Junko's face, she frowned, and gave the ghoul a squeeze on her arm. The words she used... Junko broke up with Seiji? She couldn't help but wonder if something terrible had happened while she wasn't paying attention...
"What happened? If you want to talk about it..." She held onto Junko as tightly as she was holding onto her, knowing that it's not always easy to talk about break-ups, no matter who initiated it. If she didn't want to talk, Lizzy wouldn't force her to.

Junko stayed quiet at first, walking alongside Lizzy without speaking a word. Her gaze was on the ground, her hands shaking at first. Did she want to talk about it? The sting of that whole day was still rather fresh. Even now she could feel her eyes burning and that lump in her throat returning, the pain in her chest and stomach making a harsh comeback. She sniffed, wiping the underside of her eyes to rid them of tears and lifting her head to give Lizzy a close-eyed smile. "Not today." Her voice was strained with the pain she was trying to force away. She had come to Lizzy to have fun with her best friend, not think about Seiji. "O-oh, um. He said uh..he w-was going to br...br..bring you m-my stuff. Togivetome." Junko forced a laugh to let something out that wasn't a cry, clearing her throat and staring ahead of her instead. "C'mon. I can see the eyescream place from here."

"Aw... There, there," Lizzy muttered, giving Junko's hand a squeeze and holding on tight; she knew firsthand that it was not an easy topic to talk about... Sometimes, it felt to her like it would be a difficult topic to talk about for forever, even if she knew - by logic - that it was not true.
"Alright... I'll pass them to you when he does," She replied with a small smile, nodding when the eyescream shop was mentioned; as they approached it, she decided to give them both some quiet time... Junko's wounds were still raw, after all, and she did not feel good thinking about Mac. Once they were at the door of the shop, however, Lizzy pushed the door open and led her friend in, refusing to let go of her hand.
"Thought about which flavor you're getting?" She asked, trying to change the topic.

"Thank you. I..I didn't realize he hadn't done it yet." Junko's brow furrowed with concern. Why hadn't he brought Lizzy her stuff yet? From how he had stormed off she would have assumed her things would have been shoved carelessly into a box and thrown out of his room in a fit of rage or something. Well justified rage. Sorrow and regret swelled in Junko's chest and she laughed involuntarily, though she didn't look at all happy or amused as she did. A hand came up to cover her face as she sighed, rubbing her eyes a moment. "I wish I could ask how he's doing. It...it wasn't a pleasant meeting.." She admitted quietly, taking a deep breath in, holding it, and finally letting it out in a quiet sigh again. She'd be okay. She just needed a distraction right now. Junko didn't want to cry in front of Lizzy, especially not in public. Though maybe she could blame it on the ugly dress. It was obviously causing her physical harm to be in such an ugly dress. She was glad to make it to the eyescream parlor. It was a very welcome change in subject. "I don't know! I usually get candy corn. Do you think I should try something new?" It couldn't hurt! Maybe she would make today a day she tried all kinds of new things!

Lizzy was about to point out how she hadn't contacted Mac - and he hadn't contacted her - since the break up, but then realized that it would probably make Junko feel worse... The same way it was making her upset right now.
"Give it some time," She nodded, offering a small, wary smile, "I'm sure he needs the time to cool off too..." That was all the advice she had, although she figured that Junko would already know as much.
"I would not recommend the meaty flavors," She made a face, "Good for red dragons, not so good for spiders and probably futakuchi-onna... Um, how about the cotton candy? My personal favorite is cookies and cream and fly chips, but not everyone likes to find flies in their eye scream..."

Eyescream was way more fun to talk about than breakups. Junko wanted to not think about it right now. Luckily Lizzy was saying the right things to get Junko's mind off Seiji and instead on...meat-flavored eyescream. She made a rather disgusted look at that. How could...how did.. Meat-flavored eyescream. What. She shuddered a bit. "I'm okay not going in that direction...cookies and cream without fly chips sounds good, though." She wasn't a spider like Lizzy. Junko didn't find flies appealing, but she wouldn't judge. Putting her head on the ghoul's shoulder, Junko hummed thoughtfully. Cotton candy, candy corn, cookies and cream.. Hmmmm.. "I think I'll get all three." Junko announced with a very serious look, standing straight and looking determined. Could she eat three scoops of three different flavors of eyescream? She wasn't sure, but she could try.

"It tastes revolting," Lizzy answered, glad that her distraction was working, "They even have barbecue sauce to put on it." Not her cup of eye scream tea... Besides, what's the point of eating eye scream if it's savory instead of sweet?
"All three?" She gasped, "But... What if you can't finish?" What a waste it would be, to just toss the leftovers away!

"GROSS! Who could eat that?!" Junko lowered her voice politely as the workers who would be handling their food.
At Lizzy's doubts Junko giggled and grinned, pointing at the back of her head. "Halloween's best garbage disposal." If Junko couldn't finish it, The Mistress damn sure could!
