Luke too made motions to add and mix sugar into his beverage, if only to busy himself and create a polite excuse to keep his eyes from contact. "Yeah, I've been seeing a cardiologist since summer. There was a surgery in January, but the problem turned out to be something different, so…" He placed his hands on the cup, testing the temperature from his fingertips. "I'm going to try to qualify for a transplant procedure." The words, though still a bit reluctant, were for once hopeful.

Mieu shook his head lightly, That, of course, had only served as invitation for him to keep trying, but that wasn't really a concern anymore.

She didn't know what to say at first, surprised not only with how long this has been going on, but that he had already been through surgery, and that he was not in need of a transplant
Rosie sat in silence for a while, trying to find what she should say other then the usual "Oh my gosh."

"Its bad enough to where you need a transplant?" Rosie put the spoon down. "Luke I..."

Luke raised and waved a hand lightly, smiling and trying to dispel the obvious mounting concern, "It'll be okay, though. The cardiologist already said I shouldn't have to worry about passing the physical exam." As for the psychological portion… "I'm gonna do everything I can, so it'll definitely be okay. Don't worry about me, all right?" Causing any kind of distress to Rosie had never been his intent. She had already helped him through enough of his difficulties.

Mieu gave a short not. So it was probably a damned good thing he had never actually managed to escape.

The assurance that everything was going to be okay did sooth the concerned she had, he seemed sure, and she had no doubt that he would pass whatever tests they needed to get him a new heart.
"Luke, you're my friend, I'll always worry about you." she explained, though in a kind voice. "I wish you would have told me though, you didn't have to go through all of that alone, did you? Did anyone know?"

The Vaporeon looked to the ground, the fins on her head flattening a little. She knew they had Sera's Umbreon too, she hated the thought.

He moved a hand through his hair sheepishly, "I know, I'm sorry. It's been a little hard to talk about." He was trying his best to face it, but it was still kind of difficult even just to keep in his thoughts. The possibility of his death had haunted him since his first appointment at the cardiology clinic, but it had never been quite so real as it was now. He pushed the thoughts aside. "Yeah, sort of accidentally though," he said, watching steam rise from the cup at his hands. "I wound up almost shouting at Sera and Yuri. I think Asch is the only person I really told intentionally before now."

Mieu lowered his ears with a frown in remorse.

"Asch?" She tilted her head a little, surprised to hear that... but then again that was his brother. In Team Rocket or not they were family, and that's a kind of situation that seemed like it would be tricky, she sure would have conflicted feelings if her own sister was part of a criminal organization. Though she knew Faleen better then that of course.
"You're brother, yes."
Still, she nodded and lifted her tea cup, holding it gently in front of her.
"I understand, I can't imagine how scary it must be... but you don't have to deal with it alone anymore." She tilted her head, looking at him. "If you need anything you know you can count of any of us to be there for you."

She placed the cup back onto the table without taking a sip. "The people Mama used to work with are all familiar with the medical field. The man she worked for is even a good family friend. He knows a lot of people, so if you need any advice, or any specialists I can talk to Mr.Garnet~"
She smiled "But it sounds like you already have a great doctor."

Vahy'n said lightly. She looked at Mieu gently.

A nod. Though a Rocket, Asch was his brother, and he very much preferred to tell his brother the situation than avoid it on grounds of him being involved with the organization. Her words were warming, though, and the smile in his expression was soft and gracious, "Thanks."

He listened to her suggestion with interest, nodding as he committed the name to memory. "I'll keep it in mind. It's never a bad idea to get multiple opinions." After all, his previous cardiologist had insisted that he would be fine before retiring, and his current cardiologist had seemed fairly surprised at the misdiagnosis. There weren't really any drawbacks to erring on the side of caution in such matters.

Mieu voiced a small assent in response to Vahy'n's words. Anastasia would definitely return to them. He lifted his head slightly in surprise at the Vaporeon's offer before dipping it once more in gratitude, He could hardly think about himself at the moment, though - not with his trainer in the state he was in. He could concern himself over the months that had transpired in confinement once it was assured that he no longer had to worry about his dear master.

Seeing the smile on his face was more warming than any amount of tea. Despite the terrifying situation that he was going through, the fact that he could still must up a smile was uplifting.
She smiled back, more brightly, lifting her shoulders a little. "Any time Luke~"

Nodding her head in agreement, whole heatedly agreeing with him about second opinions. "Mm, yes. And if there was anyone who would know who to go to-" She nodded again happily "Just let me know anytime."

"I bet all of this has taken up a lot of your time too. I can't imagine training was a good idea throughout all of this."

Rosie's happiness was always an appreciated sight, and Luke's own expression brightened further in response. It was a wonder how he could ever forget his friends' support as frequently as they reminded him of it.

He raised the cup in his hands, cooling the tea's surface slowly, "Yeah, I haven't really gotten any training done at all lately… I feel like it'll come back to haunt me later, but I just haven't had time." Or when he did have the time, he didn't have the energy or the willpower. "Maybe I should take another trip to Hoenn when all this blows over, to get back up to speed."

She giggled lightly lifting a hand in a positive gesture "Oh yeah, you already know what you're doing, you'll be able to catch up with no problem." She leaned forward excitedly "When you're all better you should go for the gym challenges in Hoenn, those teach you SO much! and they're really really challenging."
She let out a heavy breath that flipped out a strand of her hair to give emphasis of just how hard she worked to get the few badges she did.
"Oh, but you've gotten a badge though, haven't you? So you know what I'm talking about."

A nod and a laugh, "Yeah, but I only barely got the one I have. It was way harder than I ever thought it would be." Despite all his supposed dedication to training at the time, he had challenged Rustboro's gym so many times the leader had started to get frustrated. He recalled feeling a bit put off from the league experience by the whole ordeal. "That sounds like fun though… I think I'm a better trainer now, so maybe it'll be easier to keep going." Maybe earn more than one badge before throwing in the towel this time.
PostPosted: Mon Mar 25, 2013 9:24 pm

She responded with a giggle and a knowing nod. "The first gym is really hard, once you know what to do its easier to understand, but still a looot of work." she lifted the cup to her lips. "You're a great trainer! You've always had such an awesome team, I'm excited to see you back in action." She smiled gently "My team and I would love to battle you again."

She looked over at Vahy'n who was smiling at the two humans, and nodding when Rosie made eye contact with her.
"There is a small tournament coming up in a couple of months in Kanto. I'm thinking about entering it. If you're feeling up for it, I mean, depending on when you get your surgery, and how you're feeling, but you're welcome to come with if you want. even if its just to watch. I hear its a fun event regardless."

"I don't know about 'great,'" he said, tucking his head down slightly - he had at one point managed to achieve a certain degree of harmony amidst his team, but he was reluctant to attribute more than 50% of any victory to his own abilities as a trainer, "but sure, I bet Mieu and everyone would love a battle. Once we're back in form." He exchanged a glance with Mieu, the Flareon brightening at the pleasant expression he found on his trainer's face. It had been a long time since he had battled, but he was excited by the thought of it.

Luke listened to her description of the event, nodding in interest, "Yeah, I'd love to check that out!" Assuming everything worked out to allow it, which he didn't want to factor into the equation on grounds of insisting even to himself that it would work out. "Even just watching. It sounds like fun." Tournaments were the kind of places where real skill was exhibited; it sounded like a valuable opportunity, even just for observation.

"What? No way, Luke" Rosie leaned in forward, putting her hands on the table "Yes you're great." she said firmly, but with a smile "Its nice to see how everyone's come such a long way, from when we started." she looked over at the adorable Flareon and smiled "oh, that's going to be a great battle. I love watching fire types in action too, they're so pretty."

"Its going to be an awesome event, Since its a non badge required even the prize money goes to a charity of your chose. But that's not even the best part. the whole town if just one big celebration, and there will be trainers from all over, parties and pokemon related crafts and events for the evening, and the tournament during the day.
It would be nice to travel again too." she lifted the cup to her lips, tilting her head in thought. "My sister is also living in Kanto. So I'll get to see her again~"

Vahy'n glanced over sharply at Rosie.

He raised a hand to the back of his head, resigning from the argument - if you could really call it one. "Yeah," he acquiesced, "compared to how I was, definitely. I'd never even thought about battling before coming to Kodo." Compared to how he was, though, more had changed than just his battling capabilities, but this was less a time for reminiscing and more one for looking forward.

"Wow," was all he could think to say in response to the description of the event's lavish nature. "Training really is a much bigger deal everywhere but Kodo, huh?" Kodo had its own small share of events and festivals that were often quite grand, but with the League only just beginning to get its bearings in the region few of them ever involved much related to pokemon. At mention of Rosie's sister, a memory fired in his thoughts, "Didn't I meet your sister once? A long time ago."
