"Thanks," she said, her smile softening into something warm and genuine; she moved her hand, shifting so that his hand was resting in hers instead of just on the back. "That means a lot - you're like a brother to me, too. I... they all are, I just... I don't know. Hah, I should go see Robert, at least. I gotta chew him out," she added, wryly.

"Hah." Madison grinned. "I don't know all the details, but I do know that one minute I get a text from Leon saying that he didn't deserve me or whatever and the next I get one from Robert saying DON'T BELIEVE LEON. Turns out he and Jerry were interrogating Leon to make sure he was 'good enough for me'." She shook her head, but her eyes were merry. "I was pissed, but... I think everything's gonna be okay. Still. I owe him a chewing out. If only because I can make my own damn choices, and I gotta make sure he knows that." She sobered, a little. "And they're a lot better now than they used to be. Before."

"Uh," Jordan said, and looked guilty. "I might've been involved in that. Briefly. You better yell at me, too." He offered her a small, rueful smile. "It's the sister thing. You know? We just want to make sure any guy who wants to date you is worth it." He paused. "And sometimes, maybe, that might involve you beating us up to let us know that. Sorry."

Madison looked startled for a moment, then sighed - but her expression settled back into that wry, "oh you" smile from before. "So it is a conspiracy, huh? I see how it is," she teased, though one hand went down to pick at the grapefruit again. "He is worth it, I think. At least, I... I genuinely want him, at least for now," she said, after a moment of silence. "I don't know to what extent I want him, not yet, but he's hot and the se- uh, I mean, we have fun together." Her cheeks turned faintly pink. "So. I do forgive Robert, though. And Jerry. And you," she added, with a laugh.

"I understand," Jordan said. He tried not to grin, and failed completely. "I appreciate your absolution. I mean, it goes the other way, too. If you got pissed at Harrison, I might get unhappy, but if you were going to kick Rep's a**, he usually deserves it. So, y'know."

Madison chuckled. "Yeah, well. He was actually decent to me towards the end, at least. Like he just plain forgot he was 'supposed' to be being pissy at me... that happen often?"

Jordan snorted. "Probably. Hell, I'd love to see that, just for his expression when you agreed."
He paused, then smirked slightly at her. "So. Purely out of curiosity - when we were on Marcus's promotion mission, Leon made a huge, unnecessary point out of informing us that he needed to buy large condoms. That actually true?"
