Jessie couldn’t help but sigh and shake her head. "I'm glad to find you were so worried about me." There was no sting in the comment. It was said with more affection then reproach. Jessie got the whole ADHD thing since she had many a moment like that herself, it was one of the reasons the sandwiches that she made for them the other day turned out burnt. "Well I say this covers the whole running over you with my bike." She snickered but shook her head anyway. Even if it was true she still had to deal with the whole inedible lunch fiasco that followed. Jessie shook Tony's hand and smiled shyly. "Pretty much any help at this point would clear up quite a bit. And I can lend it to you if you want, the book that is." She practically blushed and then pushed on. Books should be shared. "The book was much better than the movie but got to admit the two movies that followed were much better done. I just wish they made a book out of them too... it was sheer luck when I found it online." Potential? Jessie had had the potential inside of her from the very beginning? "But I'm a nobody. I have maybe a half dozen friends, Zia being one of them." Jessie nodded at Zia. "I own a bookstore. I know more about fictional worlds then my own.... and ever since this has started I wonder if I'm not in a fictional world myself." She had a serious feeling that if she did a bit more digging she would find this general scenario in most comic books and fiction in general. The plot line was well trodden by the literary world; a 'everybody' gets powers/skills/money/ect and must fight for the good of mankind. Except Jessie really was a nobody.

"Tsk... Does it, though?" Zia quipped, mostly joking, because of course debating if leaving a friend to a youma out of distraction and hitting someone with a bike were equal offenses was a little ridiculous.
She cleared her throat when Jessie started going off on tangents about books. She'd learned the hard way that indulging these tangents would make them last for hours and, well, they were here to talk about knight things, not the merit of a book series with campy film adaptations. "Focus, sweetie."
Though her brow shot up and her wide eyes looked in another direction uncomfortably when Jessie called her a friend. Not that she didn't want to be friends with Jessie, but the bulk of their friendship took place at a time in her life she felt disconnected to entirely. That was a different Zia, she had to be, because that Zia's biggest worries were her dress size and if daddy was going to notice she made the dean's list, not what she was now. It was suddenly incredibly uncomfortable.
"Reverberations from the past," She said, clearing her throat with a cough. "I mean, just because you own a bookstore now doesn't mean you can't answer a thousand year old calling." Fiction1119 I AM SO SORRY I TOTALLY DIDN'T REALIZE IT WAS MY POST QQ

"Potential for greatness," Tony said, with a cheesy grin, which got a bit more serious as he nodded to Zia's comments. "The power that was awakened inside you did so for a purpose, and it would have continued sleeping if you did not need it. That's not the only reason a knight awakens, though. Something in you called back to that power, whether you know it or not, and it was that potential that allowed you to utilize the power of your Wonder."
If he was making it up, he sounded awfully convincing. But to him, that was what this power was. It was a deep and meaningful bond with a past that, while it might not have much bearing on the modern war, was still vibrant and important, and something they could learn great things from.
The idea that Negaverse soldiers were unawakened knights had settled on him a while ago, and it only further fueled his need to discover more about purification, and to make it a real option for them to find a balance in the war. A road to true peace. Knights who had lost their way through the corruption of Chaos were still knights. Even if they had never known it, and would never see it the way he did. Because they had been awakened as Negaverse soldiers first.
He was letting his mind wander, thinking about the whole potential thing, and what it meant to which side got their first.
"Ah. We can go inside and sit down, if you want. Get some coffee, maybe?" it was his library, after all. He could do what he wanted.

Jessie nearly made a remark about reverberations almost always being weaker than their originals until they are no more. Echos are just reverberations of something making a large noise that eventually fades into obscurity and non-existence but she knew what Zia ment and kept quiet as her mind tried to grasp the idea that either this apparently ran in her family line or that she was chosen for this odd crusade. But she couldn't keep quiet at Tony's comment. "Yes but 'The price of greatness is responsibility.' What if I don't want that kind of responsibility? I can't go back can I?" It occurred to her when Tony was explaining about how something called to that power and triggered it that like it or not she was a knight.... a super hero. She still had to ask, could she go back to being just Jessie Haze bookstore owner? "Sitting down would be good right about now." Her smile was shaky and unsure as the enormity of what happened to her sunk in.

Zia shifted her weight and tried not to comment. As much as she could sympathize with just wanting to be human, shunning power also stung a bit. It was something she often equated to throwing away food in front of a hungry person.
"Aw, you'll be fine," She said like she used to once upon a time when Jessie was prepping for a test or cramming. This situation had a little more weight but the assurances she offered did not.
"Well come on, we can talk more inside," She concluded, grabbing the poor, shaky girl by the wrist and tugging her in after Tony allowed.

Tony nodded and moved to invite them inside, locking the doors behind them and taking them to a table in a conference room. It wasn't like there was anyone else in the library at the moment but he did not want to turn on the main lights, and the conference rooms all had their own light switches. He flicked it on and sat down on one end of the table, watching the other two.
"Ah... to answer your question from before, no. I don't know of any way to just go back to being a regular human. Even if you never power up, you'll always know you have the ability, and any time you see someone in danger... hear someone crying out for help... I don't think I would have it in me, to be honest, not to want to help."
He ran his hand through his hair, looking thoughtful.
"I know it's overwhelming, believe me, I do. But you'll be alright. There are so many people who can help you, and so many different paths for you to take. It's intimidating, but you've already proven yourself worthy of awakening to it: it's just a matter of finding a path suited to your personality."

Lithia_Brandon Ok calling it Fin but will check with both via aim ^^ before offically closing Jessie allowed herself to be pulled along by Zia, her mind trying to process everything. Even Tony’s confirmation of the permanence of Jessie’s predicament didn’t make much dent in all the questions swirling in her head. But the tone that Tony had when mentioning the desire to help sparked a familiar feeling that Jessie got when she too helped someone find a book that they had been searching for, or having a young patron come running up with a A+ on their paper that she helped find information for. “’Two roads diverge in a wood, and I -/ I took the one less traveled by,/ And that has made all the difference.’” Jessie might still have a lot to think about but by God she was going to know as much as she could before she finally chose. “Alright, well what exactly am I now a part of?” The discussion could go on for hours or even days if time allowed but for now they would start at the beginning and go from there.
