Well that made two. He hated being alone in a storm. He sat across from her and took a deep breath. "I used to live here... There was a vixen I loved with every ounce of my being, that lived in the neighboring tribe. Since I wasn't a tribe member I couldn't stay there." His tail flicked around him. "The tribe was nocturnal, so every night I would go out there, then return here come sunrise." Before she could ask what happened he continued his story. "Then she ran from me... I finally told her that I loved her." His ears folded back and his mood become sullen. Even his glow was dim, at least more dim then usual. He used to glow brightly, but since he left her, what was the point of shining? "I really didn't want to stay here so I left and never really cared to come back and retrieve my stuff." When he finished more thunder roared and the lightning flashed and he felt his heart ache.

the sudden noise startled Grief and she as if by impulse threw her wings over her eyes, thinking that they would make it stop, it was something she had always done as a kit."Im sorry for your loss." she apologized to him for bringing back bad memories. "Someone once told me its better to have love and lost though." she gave a weak smile, trying to make him feel a bit better.

He shrugged. "She found someone else to love her. So if she's happy..." He always told himself that as long as she was happy he was too. But he was just kidding himself. "Some may think that, but it hurts. It really does. And its heavy on the heart too... To the point where I wish that I never told her." He laid down and pressed against the side of the cave. "It's in the past now, but its hard to forget."

Grief's ears cocked downward. she made him feel even worse. she slinked over to him and placed her paw on his nose ."Its okay, maybe you were meant for someone else?" she said hoping she wouldn't ruin him even more. "Uhm please dont be sad. I dint mean to make you sad..."

He sighed. "Maybe... Though I have to be careful. I feel like I may have scared her off by being so..." He thought for the right words. "Overbearing? I knew her when we were young, and I never told her how I felt. Then she got mated and I lost my chance. Then we ran into each other and she was alone and hurt and had kids." He shifted awkwardly. "I took it as my chance... The kids at first didn't like me. There was one, his name was Kishen, who helped the others get used to me, they even considered my as a father figure... Now I don't even know." He let out a long sigh. "Honestly... I'm kind of afraid to try again. I'm afraid of being too kind and overbearing and scaring them off..." His glow was almost out. Even the colors of his coat were dull.

Grief tghought for a second."How were you overbearing?" she asked.She looked outside at the rain, it didnt seem like it would let up any time soon."and its not bad that you took your chance most people wouldnt even have the guts to do that, so dont think that it was a bad thing, and about this Kishen , do you keep in touch with him?"

"I just always wanted to be by her side. I wanted to make sure she was always happy and had what she wanted. I would have gone to the ends of the earth to get what she wanted." He shook his head. "Not recently. Kishen found a girlfriend... I believe they are mates now. He's starting a family of his own and I don't want to impose on them." He just simply wasn't needed anymore.

Grief cocked her head."and she didnt like that? she was Lucky I wish someone would treat me that way." she sighed happily thinking of it. She was always Ignored by those around her, everywhere she went people were happy."I know how it feels to not be needed." she looked down at the ground and paused."But that shouldnt stop you from trying to keep in touch with him, even if its just as a friend. Im sure he wouldn't mind."

"I'm sure he wouldn't, but I'm sure he wants so alone time with his mate." Hatsu's head tilted. "Really? I'm kind of surprised..." She was a very cute Phim. He blushed slightly, he could never hide a blush. When he did his glow picked up.

Grief Nodded."yeah, Id love it if someone were to be so nice to me. she laughed, and her ears perked down. thinking about that kind of treatment made her smile. she curled herself up and watched Hatsu. seeming his face grow brighter, and his glow get brighter made her giggle."your funny."

"F-Funny? H-Hows so!?" Her giggles made him blush more and turn his back in order to hide. His ears flicked back and he felt guilty, she didn't have anyone to make her happy. He sighed and looked out. It was storming harder now and the rain pelted sideways into the den. He moved closer to the mouth and let the rain hit him, just so she won't get wet.

"Yeah... It's natural. So... I was born with it." He shrugged and let her paw at his tail. "Really? You think its cool? I usually get picked on for glowing. Usually I'm called glow butt... glow worm... night light... Ya know... things like that." He shook his head at her. "No, it doesn't change colors, but it can get brighter." He thought he had enough color on him with out having to change them as well.

"Maybe... But I don't know any." His tail flicked awkwardly. He was in this cave with this girl he just met. He looked outside and through the heavy rain he saw the moon up high. "Hey.. It's late, and you look a little tired... Go ahead and rest. I'll be here when you wake up..." She did say she didn't like to be alone. He rested his head on his paws and his ears flicked toward the rain, listening to the rain.
