Orah smiled brightly again, nodding.
"No, I don't mind! Actually, that would be nice. Its a lot better than sitting alone. Actually, food does sound good. I won't feel so bad about having pie all by itself." She chuckled as she nodded. "Oh, my name's Orah. Its really nice to meet you. Where do you go to school?"
It felt nice to have someone to chat with in this busy place and the teen gestured the other girl to lead the way, pulling her bag's strap higher and holding the bag itself against her midsection so it was out of the way of passerby. Wouldn't want to smack someone with it as she wove her way between people, especially any of the busy waitresses with their arms full of plates.

Albert Einstein was the reason Pascal was almost not Pascal at all but instead Albert. Yes, willingly, he almost named himself Albert. However, in the scheme of things he thought it was a little too common of a choice and decided while Albert Einstein was brilliant and respected, if he was going to honour someone then he would do so in a more subtle way. Her joke about him and relativity pie caused a smile to linger on his lips until they parted .
"Only five?" He asked, his grin spreading further. He wasn't going to just jump into it, his thoughts carefully calling back his interest in cosmology and his study of thermodynamics and mechanics. It was almost an unfair, but who turned down the chance at free pie? Not Pascal, momentarily stopping his thoughts on Pi to consider if they'd put pineapple on a pie for him.
"3.14159," he said like a breeze, acting almost as if he'd stop there. He didn't though, more fascinated in wondering how far back he could recall before his brain exploded than actually get the pie as the next digit slipped from his lips. "26535..."
The calm before the storm.
"89793,"
"23846,"
A pause, as if carefully thinking of the next digit were a game.
"26433,"
"83279..."
Cognitive functions in overload, and much like an Energizer Bunny, Pascal just kept going. This was no longer about pie, this was about Pi.
Unfazed by Pascal's onslaught of Pi, Ms. Walter's eyes met with the waitress Eliza's for a moment. She had no interest in Pi, just pie. In fact, she was kind of offended that there was so much attention being given to Pi and not to the pie. Pie was obviously better than Pi and yet no one was listing off pie ingredients to win a pie or types of pie. Maybe the history of pie, or a pie eating contest. Other than the latter of the two, she wouldn't be any better off but at least it was deserving. However, she was never one to turn down a challenge.
"It's 3.14... right," she said, pausing. Unlike Pascal, she really had no use of knowing the digits of Pi so this was no easy task for her. In fact, the next digit was as far off as the correct answer as she could get.
"9?" No, it was not 9. It was clear it wasn't because Pascal shot her a very unimpressed look when the number slipped out of her mouth. It didn't matter though, it was just Pi. What was important here was pie.
"I'll just order a slice of peach pie if there is any, apple is there isn't." She made her choice very clear, not wanting a repeat of last time. She wasn't even ordering anything the same shade as raspberries this time. "Oh, and a coffee please. Black."
Pascal on the other hand finally turned away from Ms. Walter. He looked back at Zia for a minute before sinking back into his brain.
"Where was I?" He asked, pausing. He couldn't remember where he'd stopped off at so he did what any reasonable man would do: He started again.

"Great!" Lily grinned and lead the way to the table quickly, dropping into the both and sitting her bag down beside her. She watched Orah sit down and continued on the halted conversation. It was a bit loud walking through the diner so she waited to answer the girl.
"I like your name is very pretty and I attend DCU. I'm still a freshman, a little behind, because I just came back from England in October. I was there for six whole long months." She laughed again, "but I graduated from Meadowview. What about you?"
She gave more information than the girl probably needed, but she liked to give lots of opportunities for a conversation to branch off, especially since she thought to might be a while before one of the servers spotted them. People seemed to be hurrying about all over.

Sliding into the booth, Orah tucked her bag down into the seat and crossed her ankles under the table, resisting the urge to swing her feet like a child.
"Oh, I go to Meadowview. I'm only 17 so I have another year to go before I graduate. I'll probably go to DCU too, but I haven't decided what I want to do yet." She said as she laid her elbows on the table, crossing her arms at the wrist as she leaned on them. "College seems like an important thing, but I'm... not sure I'll need it that much. When I get out of school, I'll just run the flowershop with my father and you don't need a degree for that. What are you majoring in? I bet its something fun and cool."
Lily certainly looked like a fun person, so Orah was sure whatever she was choosing to study would be really neat. College really had never been much on her mind, there was always too much other stuff to think about, especially lately. At least she had a year to think about it and decide what she wanted to do.

Of course she would have spotted him and sat down at his little table. It was such an obvious happenstance that Sheldon didn't even look up from his menu when she pulled her chair around and greeted him. Ellie probably had a stupid grin on her face.
"Why the hell else would I be?" He muttered, seeming to pass on any sort of greeting unless she really wanted to count a small grunt from before as one. Did he want apple or lemon meringue...

Eliza was a bit distracted by the rattling off a pi and was actually quite amazed by it because wow the boy was a human calculator and Eliza had to envy him a bit. She was better at things like folklore, English and History, but history was love. She shook off the distraction though paying attention to Nicole.
She gave a tiny frown when the woman got the answer wrong and proceeded to order pie and coffee. Of course Eliza smiled and spouted, "Don't worry about getting it wrong. The pie is on special today, so it's only 3.14, still a win. And we've got plenty of peach." she said with a laugh.
She jotted down peach pie and black coffee along with the table number before nodding at the woman. "I'll be back with you order in just a minute." She had more orders to take of course, so she quickly went to get the order in before heading to another table with two girls at it.
Eliza gave a small smile when she got to the table with Lily and Orah at it. "Welcome to 17 Waverly. We're celebrating Pi day with pie! Five digits get you a free slice. Want to give it a go?"
Lily nodded listening to Orah speak and grinned happy to talk about her major because she really loved to sing. "I'm 19, I graduated when I was 17. Senior year was the best. I kind of miss high school, a little. I'm studying music. I really love to sing. I even have a youtube channel for singing, though it doesn't have anything on it yet. But, my sister's channel has a bunch of videos of me on it."
She smiled, "college is important, but it's not for everyone. Though if you intend to run a flower shop, you could take a few botany classes or some horticulture classes."
She paused looking to Eliza and smiled, "Uh sure." She looked to Orah, "want to try first or you want me to try?"

"Oh, wow, that's wonderful! I love to sing too, I'm part of the Meadowview choir. I don't think I could sing in front of a camera though, knowing it would be put up on the internet where everyone could see it... I prefer being part of the chorus line, you know? Part of a group, singing in harmony. I don't think I could make any kind of career out of it though, and I like running the flower shop. Classes like that sound neat though, they might be pretty useful."
Orah chatted happily with her new friend, enjoying being able to exchange with someone more her own age. A lot of the friends she had made recently were a good bit older than she was, but nineteen was really only two years.
She blinked when the waitress arrived, looking up at her with a confused expression. Now that she thought about it... she couldn't think of any numbers past the first three. "Oh, um... go right ahead, Lily. I'm afraid I don't know anything more than 3.14. I never really paid attention." She said with a laugh, shaking her head.

Lily face literally lit up and she listened eagerly. It was really great to meet someone else who liked to sing like she did. She had never been on the Meadowview choir, but that didn't stop her from utilizing the music room, to practice singing and playing the piano on her own. She'd been found several times by several people.
Lily laughed, "I really want to be a big singer, with my name up in lights, dancing on a stage and just loving life. I didn't sing in the choir past elementary school. I was always nervous to sing in front of people, but I've got over it by going to Hindsight and doing karaoke. Ever been there before?"
She grinned and looked to the waitress at being given the go ahead. She'd definitely be through Pi day stuff before while in Meadowview. The math teachers always thought it was such fun to torture the students with it, but Lily thought it was fun. She nodded, "Okay, its 3.1415, uh do we need 5 digits after the decimal or is that good. Well just in case the next number is 9. And I'll have a grilled chicken sandwich please with fries please and lemon pie."
Eliza looked at the red head and nodded, "yup, that's right," she said writing down the order, then she looked to Orah, "Might as well go ahead since she gave answer that way you can get free pie too."

”Tsk, what a nerd,” the young boy of twelve scoffed loudly and without shame, jabbing a thumb towards the guy who had just rattled off too many numbers for him to care about. “And I thought I was a math geek. No way, only weirdos have all of pi memorized.”
School had just let out, and Peter Gallo found himself in the company of not his mother or oldest brother, but of the brother he got along with least, and one he was still trying to come to terms with being, well... not as horrible of a person as he’d always made him out to be. Sure he was still a nag and boring and way too much of a goody goody, but there could be worse things, right...?
“Google says three point one four one five,” the boy chirped up at his older brother, before glancing around for a place to sit. “That’s totally third grade stuff. Mrs. Alba kept going on and on about how people can win scholarships for knowing the numbers of pi to the billionth digit. How boring. I’d rather get a scholarship for wasting my time learning something slightly more useful... Like Elvish or Klingon. Ugh, why is it so packed??”
“We’ll just get it to go,” Chris said with a glance down to his little brother, trying to keep exasperation from taking over his expression. He still found Peter to be an obnoxious little brat, but after recent revelations, he would much rather keep a close eye on him than find out about the kid getting killed by a youma or worse.
As busy as it was, he wasn’t at all surprised to see people he recognized. Zia, of course, but he also thought he’d caught a glimpse of Lily, although he hadn’t seen her since her return to the city, so he wasn’t unsure if the bob of red hair belonged to her or someone else.
Not wanting to bother her when she was with a customer, Chris waited patiently to get Zia’s attention, lifting a hand to wave and smile sheepishly in her direction. He didn’t see Noah anywhere, but he seemed to have the place back up and running after it had apparently been destroyed... again...

Ellie glanced away from the table towards some guy who seemed to be flexing his mathematical-muscles towards another area of the establishment.
"...well... ya could be here t'show off in th'only way ya knew how... or ya could be 'ere fer some... ya know... real food..."
Pie obviously did not constitute as real food to Ellie.
Though that guy who owned the place (Noah) seemed to have his figurative hands full at the moment, the blonde attempted to wave him down. In the meantime, she snatched up the menu which Hobbes was still using. "...gonna borrow that fer a moment... thanks..."
Ellie was ever the picture of manners.

Yvette hadn't really said much of anything, or attempted to squeeze through the growing crowd towards the front. She was still vaguely behind some dark haired boy (Pascal), and now was getting held up in a sense by how many digits he was spouting out.
At one point she let out a rather impressed squeak, but that was mostly because he had lapped her in regards to how far she remembered the digits. Though now that he was further than her own memory could recall, she couldn't guarantee if he was right or wrong now. And she was not the sort who would attempt to call him out on such in the first place.
A little boy (Peter) made a comment about how the darker haired boy knew all of Pi, which caused her to swivel a foot slightly back and forth. Yvette was pretty sure it would be impossible to have all of Pi memorized, since it was an infinite number. However, she planned to just stand in line like a good girl and wait for her chance to get some pie for pi.

Someone left the door open a little too long. Who it was, ********* couldn't tell, but she was grateful. She had heard the word on the streets, and she had to follow the trail that led to a place that was giving away free pie!
Of course, she couldn't compete. That would be silly for the cat to compete for Pi, since cats couldn't really talk or anything. However, it didn't stop her from slipping in and quickly trying to locate herself a safe place underneath a random table.
If she was lucky, crumbs would be everywhere, and possibly some nice people would be willing to feed the random cat who had somehow gotten into the building.
(I am open for anybody claiming that ********* snuck under their table... just please make sure to bold something acknowledging the cat in your next post so I know to respond <3 )

Zia laughed, totally entertained. For a hot second. As much as she thought his nerdgasms were a plus, he just kept going and going and her expression shifted to a smile with dampened but still present to an astute observer awkwardness, with a sharply raised brow giving away more than a little uncertainty. And he kept going and going and paused to give some dumb lad who didn't know anything a pissy look and... started over.
She glanced to the side feeling kind of trapped as he just stood there rambling off digits in her space with both hands still full of pie plates. At least it allowed her to take stock her her surroundings, which included Lily! And Chris! Hi Chris! He was reacted to with the beginnings of a shout before her attention was forcibly dragged back by the ongoing numbers. "Jesus, we get it, you have the biggest nerd d**k in the room," She laughed. He looked like he was going to overload, though, and she briefly wondered if he was both a robot, and broken. Because this was clearly a malfunction.
She took one of the plates carrying a pie slice and crammed it in his face, messily aiming for his rapidly moving mouth in a haphazard enough fashion that coconut creme ended up all over the place. "No need to keep going, you more than earned it," was the casually sarcastic comment as she pulled the plate back and shook off the few fingers that got caught in the crossfire.
----
"I-- Because-- GAH." Noah was pretty sure his dilemma was the worst ever. How the hell was he supposed to flirt with Phina and get out all of the terrible innuendo-tastic ways she could earn her pie jokes with two ticking time bombs in his place? In addition to Zia assaulting some random teenager for being annoying and Eliza just being so goddamn upbeat. Ugh.
A server was making his way towards Yvette, probably to offer her something, when Noah busted between them like a linebacker. "NO STRAWBERRIES!" Oh god Eliza had already gotten to Ms. Walters, "NO RASPBERRIES!" And then an announcement that sounded like a general shout for the whole world, "NO CROSS CONTAMINATION! ********," He was going to die, oh god. Actually one of them was probably going to die but either way dying people usually meant lawsuits. But especially in this confusion and mass product being exchanged and heading out the door, the confidence he had in his staff's abilities to not haphazardly use the strawberry knife to cut the peach in a pinch was not super duper high and he was having an aneurysm besides.

Yvette was not expecting today to yield such odd results. She was expecting to maybe talk to her server privately about her issue and possibly explain how the cook knew her (and would probably complain about the special request).
She was not expecting the owner to come storming up shouting about her allergies. And he was now right in front of her.
He had a perfect view of the poor girl's bright red face which matched the strawberries which she was unable to eat.
Somehow, she managed to stutter out some digits for the man. "3.14159265359... um... i-is... is that okay?" Her eyes were easily upon her toes, suddenly finding herself unable to look anybody in the eye now.

Once it became clear that no payment would be accepted for the pie Jessie just sighed and stuffed the money in the tip jar by the counter before heading for an empty seat. With her pie snuggly in its to go container Jessie realized she should get lunch as well, and maybe do a second tip. The very busyness of the dinner prevented her from dealing closely with people, and avoiding the awkward small talk that inevitably ends in uncomfortable silence. She had finally spotted a table although not the cat hiding underneath when she got distracted by the young man reciting pi.
With her attention elsewhere she didn't look down and ran into a chair. Her box of pie went flying and she ended up sprawled on the floor. Oh god! She closed her eyes and prayed that the floor would open up and swallow her whole or that no one noticed her falling flat on her face.... not that that would be the case.

"Ridley!" Istas chimed, then she paused and whispered, "Uh... do you know the numbers for pi? I uh.... didn't bring a calculator."
Her eyes traveled over to Noah, "Oh god Uncle Noah is going to make everyone five inches tall." She sighed, "UNCLE NOAH~!!" She called trying to get him away from poor Yvette and the other girl with allergies. She sighed "My Uncle Noah runs this little place." She told Ridley.
"We need to hang out more." She added as she looked at the waitress who seemed a little taken a back the child had just yelled across the room. "Sorry Ma'am, I didn't mean to yell but I think he's going to hurt himself if he keeps running around like that." She counted her money for her burger and the pie in case she didn't figure out what the numbers were, "Ridley you want a burger or chicken fingers or something? Not only are their pies awesome, they've got the best chicken and burgers." She smiled, yes she was totally helping her Uncle Noah make money. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Alexis sighed watching all the commotion and finally grabbed a seat somewhere tapping her fingers on the table. Humming, she had a menu and was waiting for someone to wait on her.

To say several of the customers were now starring openly at Noah was probably a very accurate description. So Phina of course was slightly red faced at the awkward, to awkward for her public display that made Noah look more than a little crazy. She turned and shook her head deciding she would flirt with him later and went to find a place to sit down. "Going to go sit down now," she said mostly the air.
She headed to a table and slid into the booth only to discover there was at cat under her table. She really couldn't believe it, but she looked at it, stared at it open before reaching down to pet the cat (*********>). "You really shouldn't be in here, you know that. Someone might step on you and I'm not really sure the owner like animals all that much." He didn't seem to care for Harley very much anyway.
She petted the booth seat, hoping the kitty would jump up.
Eliza ended up giving Noah very confused looks at his shouting, but nodded none the less. She hadn't even taken any order for rasberry or strawberry pie anyway. She wondered briefly if that meant they were out, but decided not to worry over it and turned back to the two girls she was waiting on.
