Gabriel would have gladly offered more information about his carpenter of choice, but Morai was suddenly on the offensive. He had not been paying enough attention to know why, but there was definite ache of hatred in his chest, and it was not his own. He also knew well that, given continued opportunity, Morai would tussle with Aelius and potentially cause quite a bit of damage before he could be stopped. Gabriel knew blind rage...
Any attempts to mentally communicate with the buck were met with silence, and so the Chosen gave a sigh. Well, it had come to this through no fault of his own, and the niggling anger in Morai only served to irritate him further. With one smooth movement, Gabriel reached up and took his Guardian by the antler near its base and pressed down on his muzzle. Morai was pushed down slightly, but his eyes did not leave Aelius' face and he continued the threat. With another put-upon sigh, the man wrapped an arm around the buck's neck and began to bend him away by throat and horn. Although he seemed a fairly lithe man, there was strength in his movements that spoke of strength and sinew like steel cables. Morai continued fierce eye contact until he was unable and was guided by his Chosen off and to the side, still tense.
"What in the world are you doing?"
Morai gave a stamp and a hard bleat, not speaking back but offering thoughts that told the same story. Gabriel rolled his eyes. "We do not attack strangers on a whim... yes, I'm aware he was acting strangely, but you could take an arm off with those things! No, I don't think they're both... no." The man spoke over his shoulder than at the redhead behind him. "Rosalie, could you come here a moment?"
Over where he was, of course... where a magical deer wanted something dead.

She was impressed, needless to say. Strength was something she could admire, and just watching him turn Morai with such ease....Well. Things were suddenly interesting. She listened quietly, making her own buck stand down through silent orders, which he did, deciding to sit down instead, weary of standing, though did tense up when he requested her presence. "Sure not a problem." She replied, not bothered by the possibly murderous guardian. In truth, Rosalie was more scared for Aelius. She'd been through worse. The smith came up next to Gabriel, looking down at Morai. "What's wrong, Morai? Did mean ol' Aelius hurt your feelings?" Though he wasn't anywhere near mean.....

Morai immediately began clattering in response, and his expression was not friendly. Gabriel tapped him on the nose, then pointed and gave a little 'hey' as one might for a stubborn hound. Morai stopped, for the moment.
"He believes that you are condescending him," Gabriel offered, tucking his hands behind his back, "As I'm certain you know, Guardians are very receptive and intelligent creatures. Perhaps if you could prove that your intentions toward him were not negative?"
He did not seem concerned by the fact that his Guardian was now sporadically flapping his lips and show his flat herbivorous teeth.

A rather sad frown passed her face as she knelt down, slightly lower than Morai. Oh she knew they were smart. Aelius was just dumb sometimes...Well...Most of the time. But she knew they weren't stupid, and could certainly hold up a conversation, though it was just emotions and images. She knew very well feelings could get hurt or stepped on, and without the slightest bit of fear she reached out to pat his head softly, obviously very sorry. "I'm sorry Morai...I didn't mean for it to come across in that way. Could you forgive my deplorable manners?" She asked, looking him in the eye. If he even chose to bite her, she wouldn't flinch in the slightest way, since it would only add to the pain in her already shaking hands. Though perhaps Morai couldn't tell the difference, and thought her fearful.

Morai, being an attentive animal, knew better than to assume that shaking hands devoid of fear were still a fearful reaction. He rather approved of the apology, but had to dispel his energy with a series of very angry-sounding snorts and teeth-clacking that seemed like it may have been an attempted bite, but came several inches short. Then, as if a switch was flipped, he nibbled affectionately on the woman's arm, mostly lips, and nosed her a bit roughly.
Gabriel patted his back.
"That's a good man."
Morai stuck his tongue out with a little 'pllbrt' and left it extended, looking now to Aelius. If the woman had no fear, Aelius was only being protective for no good reason. He could forgive it, even if he thought the buck a bit dull in the noggin.
"He accepts," Gabriel nodded, "He also does... that on occasion. He usually means no harm... sometimes... ... well. Anyway. He's an odd buck. I've never seen him get so rowdy before."
'Rowdy' was apparently his word for first degree co-Guardian murder.

Even when the attempted bite came about, she didn't flinch, trusting him enough, which indeed paid off when he began to be affectionate. Smiling, she let him, giving a few strokes to the top of his head. "I'm glad." She laughed a little at a rather strong nosing, patting him more, much to the woes of a very jealous Aelius. "They all have their quirks. Sometimes I'd think mine would be better suited to the life of a lap cat. Or dog. Depending. He acts similarly at times." She was more at ease, though the trembling certainly hadn't stopped. "And don't you mind Aelius, he's a bit...dull in the mind." The buck took slight offense, trying to look regal and noble again as he gave an unhappy snort. He was not. ...Well....Maybe sometimes, but that was besides the point!

Morai was laughing on the inside. A bit dull indeed! At least he knew what the problem was now, and while he may never actually enjoy the buck's company, he certainly could deal with it.
"We'll see each other at the ball, then?" Gabriel offered, more than willing to get away from a pair that made his hundreds-pound Guardian more than uncomfortable.

"Yes I believe so." She nodded, standing up. "Take care, both of you. I do hope the festivities will go well." Aelius shrunk back a bit, begging to go back to walking through the link, to which she frowned, though sighed. "Until then...It was a pleasure." ((And fin?))
