Description: The long-lived Mizu is a rather large snake with rather strange abilities. Despite his menacing appearance, common among snakes, he's actually quite mild-mannered and is more of the guardian type than the vicious predator type. In fact, he quite enjoys settling down for a spot of tea (with a side of a fresh mouse). Although, he can easily seem to change the gentleness into ferocity at a moment's notice. Note the "seem;" he actually never is truly vicious. He's just too mature for that. Besides, he has no poison, and while he was a deadly force in his younger days with just his strength, he's just no longer that young (or at least that's what he wants you to think).
Nowadays, he likes to simply watch over the "young'un" (Hime), guiding and protecting her like a human guardian would. He doesn't go so far as to follow on missions, where he's likely to be more of a hindrance than a help, but whenever she's in the village or free in some other manner, he's bound to be somewhere nearby if not outright draped over her protectively. His laid back manner hides a knack for finding the least expected places to appear from in addition to a whole host of other temper flares when the right buttons are pushed.
As is not unheard of among shinobi pets, Mizu is capable of speech, and refined speech at that. His years spent with the other species and the inborn cunning of his own kind has combined beautifully into a silver tongue capable of the most intricate forms of conversation. While he might miss the mark at times, he'll do so gracefully and smoothly. His somewhat archetypal snake voice helps with this. Although, at times, it can make even his simplest words sound as if they were hiding a deep secret.
In addition to sugared hisses is Mizu's namesake, the inborn ability that he has had since his first owner. He can, to a small extent, permanently change his shape. He's lived so long that he can't remember his original form. All he knows is that he was a snake of some sort since snakes are all he can turn into. He is not restricted to certain species of snakes. Rather, just something with the body of a snake, where size (within limits), color, markings, and other small features are completely up to Mizu's whim. At most, he can grow to 10 ft long, and he can grow as small as a foot. The wide variety of changes allowed makes the skill indispensable in remaining camouflaged and unnoticed, perfect for following Hime around the village discreetly without alarming normal civilians. Although, personally, he prefers more striking appearances. Choosing to grow quite large with whatever markings and colors he prefers at the moment whenever he can.

Spectre grew up with Maki, finding him as a small bird. Through the years, her bird developed a uncanny link with his partner, was trained in the academy with her and they became inseparable. She couldnt have asked for a better partner, being able to have eyes in the sky or even behind her on occasion to keep her safe. Her field excercises went much smoother than most due to this. I have a few questions, does his mindlink also include the positions of enemy opponents? Is it a constantly active ability? How much energy does it need to communicate with you? How much energy does it take you to communicate back or receive this information?
Also that description is lacking for me personally. No description should be 2 sentences. How large is the bird, details like height, weight, wingspan and etc. Ravens vary a great deal wildly some can be large some can be small.

Yes it would in fact show the positions of the enemy; if he can see them. It basically would overlay her own vision with that of the crows ravens. Think of it as an alternate camera in a video game. Now the issue with this is that more than likely it would interfere with her own vision while it is active, and thus wouldn't always be used.
I would imagine it wouldn't use any chakra or anything just from how it would work. Tamers in the guilds Ive played in can communicate freely with their pets. If this is an issue I will be happy to change it.
As for the description, Ill work on it for a little while and then quote you again when its done if this is sufficient.

This resulted in the blinding of his left eye and him gaining a small scar. After he had defended the tiger cub it never left his side even once during the following years. Despite the fact the tiger couldn't talk it was clearly far more active than its lazy partner. Chasing insects and generally being a bit of pain sometimes. Still he wouldn't have wanted it any other way. Despite not being able to talk the lovable tiger got his feelings across with his growls.
