Social cues were not Jessie's strong point..... they were barely a point at all but even she picked up Zia's look and blushed. "Sorry." She really wished she had her tea to hid behind. Books were what she thought about, dreamt about, worked around, and even wrote so when someone starts a conversation about authors it was a bit hard to drag her mind away from it.

When Zia suggested food Jessie grabbed at the change in topic, after all a sticky bun didn't last very long and just about anything to distract Zia at this point would make Jessie feel less like she stuck her foot in her mouth. "Um sure.... I think there is a dinner around somewhere. Or I could cook if you want." Jessie thought she had stuff to make at least sandwiches or she could stop at the local corner deli.
