Nathan frowned at her, but he was used to his efforts to be nice going unnoticed or mistaken as sarcasm. It was not like he could blame anyone but himself for it: he was generally sarcastic and miserable to talk to. It was impossible to get him to be nice, even though he hated to waste the effort.
Sometimes it was just easier to not try. He had learned that a long time ago, hadn't he?
He watched her and nodded his head, smirking despite himself.
"I'm not much of a romantic, I guess. But yeah. I guess this makes more sense now. Maybe I'll just go home and compose something myself. With my feelings. That's what you do, right?" He grinned and got up, dusting himself off though there was no dust to be cleaned. He grinned at her.
"But I'm going to ******** off out of here now, though. I think i've had enough music for one day."

Delilah could tell she had struck something small but he was still withholding something bigger than that within his core. Something that maybe he could have released through music if he just let himself. Maybe that could help his ego. Still, that wasn't her problem.
"Before you go." Delilah started to say as she quickly ran her fingers over the sheet music. A beaming grim came across her face as she quickly snatched something off the rack and turned to him. "I think this would be a better fit. " Smacking a black covered book into his chest, Delilah gave him a playful smile and turned around towards the exit. "Nice playing with you Bats." Delilah called out as she walked away humming a few bars of The Dark Knight theme song that she had just shoved into his hands.

Nate looked at the music she had smacked him with, shaking his head. He watched her as she left and wondered when everyone started getting so... cool. He had spent most of his youth hating people, thinking them stupid and annoying, and wasting his time ignoring them and being aloof and stupid. It turned out, though, that a lot of people he had been running into were pretty cool.
He wondered if he should have gotten more information out of her, to meet up again, but he was the type to just let things slide. He was sure they'd bump into each other again: Destiny City was not as big as it seemed, and he had an unfair advantage as Chaonis.
Sighing and shaking his head, he moved to put the music back, but stopped. He looked thoughtful, then grunted and carried the music to the check out counter. Might as well, right?
