We own a 2009 BMW X5, nice and comfortable with enough room for all our equipment and roof racks for our bikes or surf boards. Sometimes I think its a bit too posh though! sweatdrop
That is pretty posh! xp
Not as posh as whatever you might be driving..
Used to drive a Pug and a Mini, now we drive a pair of boring old cars, one for Toronto, one for LA. Would've gone with a Porsche but those arent exactly family cars, plus that second apartment doesnt pay for itself. xp
Oh rub it in miss posh-pants.

I drive a '92 Chrysler LeBaron with 164k miles on it. I am currently waging a slow declining battle against it, and fear that this might finally be the year that it retires to the scrap yard in the sky. Of course, I have said that every year since I started driving it. It's current issue is that the transmission really, really does not like fourth gear. I have to creep up on it at as low of an acceleration rate as possible to make it shift smoothly. Otherwise, it misses and kicks into "safe mode," which means that my car goes into second gear and will not shift above it until I shut down and restart.
Wow, that's pretty bad. Must kill gas mileage too.

So has anybody ever changed the tires on their own car?

I checked out the four tires on the car, and they're all different brands, with recommended pressures between 31 and 46 PSI, so that's definitely the next thing I want to do, but I'm wondering just how complex it is to install them.

If your car doesnt come with a jack, youre going to have a bad time.

Comes with a jack, yes, but it's pretty dangerous using that jack for work that requires you getting under the car. sweatdrop That's what jackstands and ramps are for. The one that comes in the car is pretty much just for changing the tire in an emergency.

If you need to be under the car to change a wheel, youre going to have a bad time.

I've only lost 1-2 MPG on all of it.
