College? Damn. He was really feeling that age gap again.
And then he learned all about his bro. Everything. Or at least a lot. He took it all to memory as best he could. And it seemed Dakota was only just over a year older than him. He always seemed older, just because of his monstrous height. And he liked to read too, just like Otto did. It was almost captivating how much they had in common.
"Dude! You were home schooled too?" Otto chimed in, eyes widening. "I was home schooled my whole life. Once, I got to go to an actual high school for all of 3 months before gettin' taken out for throwin' a desk at a teacher."
Cause that was a thing that happened.
Video games were nodded at, as was liking warm weather as opposed to cold. "M'from Louisiana. First time we took that trip to the Antarctic I thought I was gunna die in my shorts and tshirt." From the cold, not the monsters.
"I guess, huh?" He mused, leaning back. "I used to hate people askin' me stuff, but I don't think I mind too much no more. Maybe I won't be as awkward as I think I'll be if I try this with Eva."

"You threw a desk at a teacher??" Dakota laughed, really hard. It seemed like a Otto thing to do...or a Rep thing. that sun hunter had a thing with furniture that Dakota didn't quite understand. It was probably a hateship...Furniture looked at Rep wrong or something. He didn't really question it.
"Yeah I was home schooled. Up until about sophmore year. We moved around a lot and well, school wasn't really a option. We settled around sophmore year, I went to high school till the end of senior year and then got snatched to this place."
"Why the ******** i got nothing to say on that brother. I wore tank top and cargo pants. Was not prepared to freeze my a** off. I'm lucky Chama happens to be a fire weapon, she was not shy about sharing her heat." He grinned again, settling back.
mirroring Otto's pose and nodded like a true wise sage. "Very good my young padawan." Dakota pursued his lips, "Well you've said it yourself, you changed. Things change, other people change. I think our life is still young and too damn short to worry about people knowing things about us. So boom, talk to your girl. Get to know her. I think thats the beginning of a beautiful and good relationship..." Dakota hesitated before leaning forward, "Just to remind you, if Eva gets hurt...er emotionally from you, I'm going to kick your a** straight back to Louisiana and then back.....But I'll make sure we get a couple of drinks before we go at it kay?" Dakota laughed and reached over, ruffling the smaller boys hat because he could, u mad bro?

Otto shrugged. He knew he'd been mad when he did it for something the teacher did or said. Likely it as complicated, but it was too fuzzy now to remember clearly. No rational person throws a desk at someone unless they were beyond livid, even someone as hot tempered as Otto could be. Otto narrowed his eyes at Dakota at the warning. A grimace took over, even as his hair was ruffled, an action many people seemed to adore taking on him. "As if I'd hurt her on purpose. But uh.. yeah, if I do hurt her by accident, feel free to come at me, bro."

"Any time any place Bro. Did you need anything else from me?" Snickers was gone and Dakota was feeling hyper from it. With the energy he could probably get a couple of moon trainings in.
"Any more worries you want to tell me Otto?"

"Umm.. no. No worries." Otto replied dryly. Normal hunter anxieties, sure, but no recent troubles that needed sorting. Not that he knew of. Otto could practically see the sugar levels rising in Dakota, instinctively taking a step back. "You uh.. have a good day or whatever. I ought to get to work."And fled he did.
