Had Kolli actually cared, he might have tried to understand the flying bit. Thankfully however, he was spared having to try. He knew he'd have to get the mare and the rest of the herd to trust him, but he wanted to avoid torturing himself in the process as much as possible.
"That sounds nice. Though it's unfortunate that you have to go so far. Does your father ever come visit you?" He scanned the herd as he talked, wondering which one would be Ironforge. The stallion would likely be the hardest to convince, yet he had succeeded so far with Mercy.
"I'll be okay for a little while longer. No need to trouble anyone over me." His wounds did bother him a bit, but he had more important things on his mind than a few scratches.

It didn't take Mercy long to spot the shaggy stallion, Kale seemed to be absent but that wasn't unusual, the rainbow stallion had his own duties to attend too and often left the herd to handle them. "There's my mentor." Mercy told her companion with a cheerful flick of her muzzle in the shaggy stallions direction just before calling out to him.
"Master Ironforge! I have someone for you to meet!" She all but shouted, causing every head in the herd to turn in her direction briefly before turning back to whatever they were doing. The familiar sound of Mercy calling out to him caught Ironforges attention instantly, wasn't she supposed to be patrolling? She was never going to get back into shape if she couldn't even perform the simplest of duties..perhaps she just needed more time. However the second part of her statement..and the sight of a stranger standing next to her banished any more thoughts from his mind. He would think on them later..after he had dealt with the present.
Bidding the herd member he had been speaking with farewell Ironforge turned and headed towards Mercy, impenetrable gaze sweeping over the stranger and taking note of his injuries. "Mercy...I see you have founded a wounded traveler during your patrol." He stated before turning his full attention to said traveler. "Hail Stranger,. What brings you to our area?"

Kolli rather wished Mercy hadn't been quite so loud about his being here, but it appeared as if the rest of the herd mostly ignored him. So long as he didn't have to deal with everyone all at once, he supposed it'd be okay.
"I... uh..." He started as if he were nervous. Kolli gave a quick glance to Mercy, as if asking for reassurance before continuing on. "Well, I was running from some mad mare before I got tangled up in the bushes and ran into Mercy here. Though I really mostly just wander. I wasn't going anywhere in particular, just... wandering." He hoped it was convincing enough. He had appeared a little nervous and intimidated, perhaps even frightened. Yet he didn't think that he was so nervous that the Stallion might expect him of anything.
Mercy had been easy enough to fool, but Ironforge might take a little bit more work.

"It's alright." She assured Kolli with a bright smile. "The herd is all quire welcoming." She told him - which was true for the most part..even if Ironforge did tend to be a bit suspicious about newcomers for a little while he rarely turned one away and Mercy knew as well as the shaggy stallion did that he couldn't turn out someone who was wounded, it was against his code and Ironforge lived by his code.
"This is Kolli." She introduced him to Ironforge. "Kolli, Ironforge. As he said, I found him wounded in the woods, said some crazy mare chased after him up by the mountain. He barely got away." She stated, knowing that Ironforge would be interested in those details.
Ironforge's eyes narrowed slightly as the stallion shared his story, a quick glance towards Mercy when she revealed the extra details. Well there was certainly a crazy mare in the mountains..they knew that for a fact now didn't they? Still Ironforge was not about to take anything for granted.
"I see, I'm sure that was very troubling for you." He stated civilly enough "I see that you were injured in the chase, why don't you follow me to the healers and you can tell me your story in more detail while they look after you." The way he said it made it clear that the shaggy stallion was interested in a vast amount of details and the wounded Kolli had better have a good story ready.

Kolli had rather hoped he wouldn't have to elaborate on his story too much, but it seemed as if Ironforge wasn't going to let him skimp on the details. Luckily, Kolli had tried to come up with most of the information before hand. He only hoped the stallion didn't ask too many questions.
"Well," He hesitated a moment as if he was unsure of the stallion. "My parents are gone and my brother and I have turned to wandering. Although I think he settled down in some quiet little forest or something. It's been a while since we've talked you see.
Anyway, Since we seperated I've always been sort of a loner. Not staying in one place for too long and always on the move. I'd been making my way around the Mountain up North, was hoping to get a bit of hieght to see where I was going. Anyway, I ran into some pale colored mare. She had golden hair and wore some funny looking clothing, sort of like the humans do. She asked me if I wanted to rest but I kindly declined and told her I was simply trying to get my bearings. For some reason or other she didn't seem to like the idea of me leaving and started after me. Startled, I ran from her, afraid of what she might do if she caught me. I'm not a very good fighter you see and I'm not inclined to hurting mares. Anyway, I only managed to escape when I fell and got entangled in some bushes. I don't think she was interested in getting hurt herself and I didn't see her beyond that point. It was right after that that Mercy found me."
Kolli only hoped that he had provided enough detail for the stallion. Though he did wonder what She-ra would think of his story. She'd likely laugh at the thought of him actually being able to out run her. No matter though, all Ironforge had to do was think that he had.

Mercy followed along after the two as Kolli shared his story, it was pretty much the one he had already shared with her..just a few details more . "And of course when I saw he was wounded I knew I had to have him looked at." She piped up after the stallion was done telling his side of things, giving Ironforge an innocent look as she did so. The pale alicorn knew that Ironforge..no matter what he thought of Kolli's story would be honor bound to let him stick around until he was healed at the very least.
Ironforge listened to the stallions story with a fair amount of skepticism... it wasn't that he found the stranger suspicious..or even had a disliking for him, it was more so that Ironforge as a matter of course simply took most stories he was told with a grain of salt. That was the by product of a life of hard pathways.
But..Mercy had a point and glancing at the mare with her innocent look Ironforge knew that the mare was aware of said point as well and he gave a slight sigh. "Of course Mercy..that is our way, you did well..I will see Kolli to the healer, why don't you finish your patrol..but take Sorin with you, if this stallion was truly running from She-ra as it sounds the armored mare might well have followed him into the vicinity." Ironforge did not think it necessary to remind Mercy of the danger She-ra presented. The pale mare had seen her fight as much as he had.
Turning his attention back to Kolli, Ironforge gave the stallion one more look over - despite his words against being a fighter he looked to have the body for one..perhaps he just took care of himself. In any case Ironforge decided to keep an eye on him while he healed. "As Mercy says." He told the stallion "You are more then welcome to heal and rest here as you need."
"Yes sir!" Mercy exclaimed, giving Kolli one more encouraging look before turning and trotting off to collect Sorin the owl and finish her patrol.

Kolli didn't like the idea of Mercy leaving, but he knew there was no helping it. Besides, he had a feeling that the mare would come back to check on him again later. For now, he'd have to play the wounded victim and skimp by on his story. So long as he didn't have to answer too many more questions he ought to be okay.
Even if Ironforge didn't appear to completely trust him just yet, he hadn't exactly turned him away either. Kolli was quite thankful he'd thought to injure himself, his luck might not have been nearly as good other wise. Not to mention this also gave him more time to scout out the herd. Though he was going to have to send word to Pirata soon or she wouldn't be terribly pleased with him. The last thing he wanted to do was to upset her.
"I appreciate all of your help." He told the stallion. "Though i really do hate to trouble you." While he didn't want to speak too much, being completely quiet wasn't likely to help the herd trust him.

"Helping those who are wounded is never troubling." Ironforge told the stallion, pausing as they reached the main herd and Ironforge called to one of the nearby mares. "This is Sonja..she's an excellent herbalist and will take good care of you." Ironforge told the stallion.
"I am interested in hearing more of your story but I am afraid that will have to wait as I have pressing matters to handle." He went on, formost in his mind was sending Kale to investigate the boarder near the mountain, ensure that She-ra and her cronies were not lurking nearby. "In any case I am sure that you are in need of a good rest. Mercy will return to show you a place where you can sleep when her patrol is over." He concluded and then dipping his head to the healer respectfully and giving Kolli one last critical look he turned and left.
