The best time to host it would be during an event, whether it's the St. Patrick one or the Easter one.. Gaia tends to have an event for both. My advice would be to get your thread ready ASAP with the graphics and everything and then post it (instead of waiting for a mod to move it) as soon as the event is live.

Thank you Robayn. I agree to have it on a major holiday, that way we can take advantage of those high-traffic threads. My question was which one. If you have the event during the St. Patty's event, visitors might think it strange that the Easter bunny is there, however, the opposite is true of the Easter event. I personally think that it would be easier to host an event with both holidays during the Easter event. Not only would we have more time to plan, but I think that Easter is a bigger event here on Gaia and that more people are interested in it. Okay! Thanks for sticking the thread! My point is to have the thread ready no matter which holiday you decide to host it during, not so much to tell you that it should be in an event forum. We should all be aware that the event forums are the best places to host these events, but the timing is what needs work.
Personally I would do it on Easter because of the higher activity, the fun it could add to an already fun holiday, and the time it would give everyone to plan. It could be done the other way too, though. Whatever you guys decide will work so long as you remember that either way you do it you will likely still need to explain it to guests.

Easter does tend to get more traffic than St. Patty's, I think.
Maybe I don't actually know. xD
But yeah, I think it might be a tad weird for the guests if we combine it.

Okay, I'll start working on the layouts for the thread! So I guess most of us have agreed that the Easter event will be the best because it will have more traffic and we will have more time to plan. Right?

Maybe we could still have a hangout thread/recruitment thread in St. Patty's then. It would be nice to still have a thread of some kind even if it was just to provide ball info, advertise that we're "coming soon", and let people know that it's all about RP, so if they like it then they should check it out.

That sounds like a good idea. People could come and chat while they learn about the Ball. We'll have to make a thread for that too.

I wouldn't worry about thread layouts just yet. It's fine if you want to make them now, though. (:
And if we agree on Easter, do you have a plot in mind? Or did you want to use one of the suggestions already suggested, or maybe keep on gathering suggestions to create something?
Sorry if it feels like I'm RUSHING you like crazy, but since this is your first time and you have less time to get everything together, I think it's better to have extra time before the event to make sure everything is alright rather than having to plan like crazy a few days before. (:

I don't feel rushed. I assumed it would be fast. And I agree, I don't like to procrastinate. I think we should look for more suggestions. We've only had 2 plot ideas for Easter.

easter will definately get more people in, we also want an inviting name for the thread, so it seems like everyones welcome not just us ^^
i dont really have that many ideas lately ;^; but i'll try to come up with one, the ones we have though are nice ^^
