Yeah. She responded, while putting the clothing she'd taken out, back into his drawer. You turn into a dragon. Whether or not you retain that ability is still up in the air, but I suspect it will not be an easy process, so I'd rather we not test it until we're out in the open. So for now, let's just focus on getting you used to your body.

She heard the struggle, but remained where she was. And how is that working out, so far?

"Alright. That sounds good to me," Jericho nodded before pausing, "I guess.. it's going alright. This.. is still pretty new. It's mostly the wings. I'm not sure if I'll be able to really get these flight worthy again any time soon."

He at least, for now, managed to get them into a proper resting position. At first they were awkwardly spread out somewhat as he stood or walked around. It was a slow learning process.

"Did you have to go through anything like this?"

Yeah, I did. She chuckled. Twice. I wasn't born with wings, and I have no idea how they got there - neither you nor Malodore seem to have been there when it happened. But it was there when you tried to teach me to fly, the first time. Just hovering took months of training, and a lot of failure. The memories are amusing.

Seeing herself knocked around through Malodore's eyes felt so distant, there was no remorse.

And now, I had to relearn how to fly on my own. Luckily, Malodore gave me all the memories of your lessons. So in a sense.. you taught me how to fly, twice.

She moved closer and stood behind him, following the length of his wings with her fingertips. It's different, though. I don't know if I can teach you how to fly again, because I remember you telling me that it's different for you. You use your back, your muscles, your physical strength. I'm using psionic energy. Her hands pressed against the muscles just under his wings. That might make it easier. Or harder. Only one way to find out.

Jericho listened carefully as Riley explained everything regarding the wings. Looking at the way hers were, he wasn't surprised that they would use flight differently. But... this was going to be a tricky ordeal with him to say in the least. Slowly, he fanned his wings out to get a better look at them. They were capable in on themselves.

He just needed to know how to use them right.

"The old me probably learned when he was really young or something..." he muttered under his breath.

Bringing the limbs back in, he furrowed his brow while thinking about it some more.

"Do you know the motions at least? Or.. have something I could reference?"

A part of him wondered if he was going to need to find someone that had organic wings to learn flight from.

I do know the motions. What I don't know, is if anything specific happens within your body that may come into play. But we shall try, when we go outside, and we shall see if showing you the motions is enough. She pulled her hand away from the wings when they started moving. Really, it's a simply system of propulsion. You flap them, and the air is trapped underneath your wings, being pushed down, and flinging you up.

She didn't know how strong he was, if his transformation had left him with less muscle mass or not, but the wings looked ready to be used. It was enough.

She pulled his key out of her armor, and handed it to him. I suppose you'll be needing this now, since you don't have your own. Do you remember what dorm number this is?

" That sounds.. .simple enough I guess," Jericho said while rubbing the back of his neck. It probably wasn't so simple to pull off though, even if he did have the right equipment. Riley just explained how he propelled himself. There was still the matter of well... steering himself as he was in the air.

Also landing.

Knowing how to land was important.

"I don't think I'm ready yet to try flying again. I'm still a little... shell shocked?"

Taking the key slowly, he nodded, "Yeah, I remember it. Guess this is where I'll be staying again.."

Riley's eyes crescented just slightly, a weak expression. No, definitely not today. You need to rest, and get used to your body. We're in no rush, there will be time for everything later.

When he trailed off, she felt a strange, indecipherable moment of panic. She did not voice her concerns - she couldn't. It felt far too selfish to say anything. This was where he belonged. His own room, his own things. She needed to learn to let go, but it wasn't coming easy.

If.. that's what you want. She regretted it the moment she said it. Giving him a choice, an option, that wasn't fair to him. She let out a short, sharp sigh of annoyance.

She was being such an idiot.

Jericho let out a nod and sigh of relief at that. It would come in time.. unless somehow he reverted to the elf body. If he kept going back and forth, he wasn't really sure how he would be able to handle it.

"Right. Right..."

Looking up, he looked a bit conflicted at her words. Did he want to remain here? He was pretty used to staying in her room now. He was used to her company. It was like he was suddenly weening. He knew he should probably stay in his own room, but he was just very uncertain about so many things right now. He was feeling a little vulnerable.

"Ah.. well..."

Riley caught that fleeting moment of hesitation and took hold of it. Unless you don't want to. I really don't care either way. You just tell me whatever is most comfortable for you, and I will provide.

She eyed the treasure bed with a look of forced disdain. It isn't as if there's a bed here, anyway. You should really try lying on the treasure, maybe it will feel horrible and you'll want a bed after all. Not that she was offering him a bed, anyway - he'd been sleeping on the couch. Which brought up another problem..

Damnit. She hissed out, her hand on her chin. You won't fit on that couch as comfortably anymore. I'd offer you my bed but that might be a little.. One eyebrow arched. Weird.

So then, what was the solution? An idea came to her, and she even looked like she was about to say it, but she held back. Ah, let's.. be sure you don't like sleeping on treasure. That's the first step.

If he didn't like it, she would take it as a sign.

Jericho furrowed his brow and eyed the treasure skeptically. He wasn't so certain how comfortable that was supposed to be, but he was willing to give it a shot. Today was just full of all sorts of changes already after all. And Riley had a point.. he wouldn't be able to fit on her couch now. Sharing a bed with her would be a little strange too, especially since she was with Malodore and all.

"Alright," he nodded before making his way over to the pile. Taking in a deep breath, he eased himself down to lay on top of it.

From there, he let out a deep breath and let himself relax.

"You know... this isn't bad."

Drat. He liked it. Who liked sleeping on treasure? She almost asked the question, but in the end, she let it go.

Ah. She murmured. I suppose that settles that, then. The soft blanket of awkwardness fell over her, and she patted her hip with one hand. Shall I leave you to getting re-acquainted, or?

"Ah... Well... Do you want to try staying here for a bit?" he asked, tossing the ball into her court for now. Maybe she wouldn't mind sleeping on treasure? He shifted a bit, somewhat hopeful at the thought. There... was enough treasure.. maybe... where it might not be awkward..

"Though... it's fine if you don't."

Not her first choice, but being invited to stay still made Riley feel a great deal of relief. It showed in her expression, but she said nothing. Instead, she walked over, and poked the treasure with her foot warily.

On that? My poor back. She teased, easing herself down and using her tentacles to make a shallow dent in the treasure. Then she laid down in it, and stared up at the ceiling.

...

Her head turned slowly, to look at him, and she reached out to take his hand. Explain to me how this is comfortable to you. Literally just.. explain it to me. Maybe I can convince myself.

Sleeping on treasure was terrible.

Shifting a bit to get a little more cozy, Jericho stared up at the ceiling too, trying to think about what it was that made this treasure bed comfortable to him.

"The gold is pretty soft really. And the number of different things allows it to kinda.. conform to me?" he mused, "There's also uh... hm... It just feels nice."

Sleeping on treasure was going to be amazing.

Gold did not feel soft to her more pliable skin, as it dug in and left imprints. The treasure did not want to conform to her the way it did to its master, pleasing him with comfort and leaving her with dismay. She turned on her side, putting her arm under her head, and her hips dug in, finding a groove that was barely acceptable.

You are the master of your treasure pile. Riley murmured. It feels nice because it remembers you. It knows you belong here. She turned again, flipping over to her other side and bumping into him as she faced him. At least he was softer than the treasure. Maybe it is rejecting me because I never slept here before, and it regards me as a stranger. How dare I touch your treasure - something like that.

She paused, and pressed her face against her arm.

No, no, it really is just flat out uncomfortable. She chuckled. It is a testament to our friendship that I will remain.
