As much as I'd like to get out to taste some whale, I wouldn't want to go hunt for one to eat for myself. I probably wouldn't get to finish the entire thing before it'd rot. That'd be a terrible waste of meat, and possibly other stuff which could be of practical use.  The whales who get stranded 'round various places, who can't be saved in time (due to a lack of equipment and/or manpower), are something that's cruel to just leave behind. Letting them just lie there and starve to death, and then just have to watch them rot, is such a waste (and a sore to both our sense of seeing and smelling). Those should be O.K. to eat or take proper use of their bodies for whatever else they can be used for.

There is a fish know as a dolphin, though it is better known by its Hawaiian name, mahi-mahi.

There is a fish know as a dolphin, though it is better known by its Hawaiian name, mahi-mahi. According to wikipedia, they're often mistaken by the dolphin by the name alone. They're not actually related.

Anyway if you're interested in learning about dolphins and watching a documentary have a look at 'The Cove' (just a quick heads up, you will sob your eyes out) but I'm a great believer in increasing awareness even if they are about the sickening side of reality.
