When Alexandre dropped the little factoid about the purpose of his visit, whatever dislike he had towards the young fellow was immediately erased from his mind, and it took everything within his power to not dwell on the subject or push it. He didn't want to assume that his parents had a strained relationship- just because his mother was a cheating whore and his father deserved every bit of legal karma that came his way didn't mean it was an acceptable topic to breach to a customer. Besides, it could have easily been 'dad is too busy, son doing what he needs to do' ordeal and going any further would have been embarrassing. And not to mention time consuming, and that was something that Richard wasn't willing to invest into, especially since Krishna seemed to be stealing even more of his customers! "Well, then I hope she loves it, then! As for your suggestion on other candies to make based on emotions... I may consider investing in this if I have the time. For now, I will endeavor to focus on the one emotion of love, at least until the store closes this evening."Once the doors were shut, he could focus on the emotion of 'beating Krishna within an inch of his life' if he took another customer, and yet he showed none of this as he motioned to the booth and the employee that was stationed next to it with the register. "You may pay inside, or you may pay there. We accept cash and all major credit cards, even Discover!"Richard felt like a fool to have to bring this up, but one would be surprised how many stores refused to service that card, or how many times a customer asked him this. It was best just to cut to the chase in these kind of situations. His ear caught the sound of his name being dropped, and he was surprised it was coming from Krishna's mouth. Not only had the man said his name instead of the formal 'Mr. Moreau', but he was speaking about him in a friendly manner, and twice within a span of seconds did Richard's rage deflate. It seemed that Krishna was at least warming up to him... to call him by his first name. Small crisis averted, for the moment. Gwen had been inside the store and yet she was able to pick up on certain words being dropped. Then the girl with green hair inquired about purple flowers, she was already snooping around the store to look for some, figuring that would be easy enough to find. "Freesia... freesia... what the hell is a Freesia?"

Mercy side-eyed Hafwen and sighed. She really didn't care if she necessarily got a bargain or not - it's not like she was strapped for cash. She had quite a bit stashed away in her purse with her - enough to easily get what she wanted and not worry too much. Smiling at Krishna she bowed her head. "I really don't mind either way, I just need a dozen red, a dozen pink and only two yellow roses."She bowed her head and smiled at the older man. "Then I'm probably going to need to speak to this Mr. Richard about chocolate - once the flowers are secured, of course."She jumped a little and almost squeaked when the dog started making all the noise, clinging to Hafwen she peeked around her older friend to watch the dog and make sure it wasn't going to come chasing after them. Turning her head toward the newest arrival, she bowed her head in her direction. Purple was a nice color - not as nice as pink - but nice enough. She shot the new girl a polite wave, straightening out her dress from her near fright from the dog. Quicksilver the Archangel

Krishna nodded towards Mercy, pleased at the description she gave. For her apparent shyness, she knew what she wanted, and he could appreciate that. Her willingness to pay for it, and the care with which she chose the amounts and colors of roses, further pleased him. "The dozen red, I have here. The dozen pink and yellow, you must go and ask Gwen for. She works in my shop."To make sure that the order did not get mangled, the florist snatched up one of Richard's spare candy wrappers and made a small note on the back. It informed Gwen to sell the dozen pink roses at the same price as the deal outside and to give the girl the two lone yellow roses at no charge. The cost would be nothing to him, but it would improve customer relations. Besides, for her appreciation of his peach rose, she deserved it. "Give her this, and she will take care of you. I will have your red roses waiting upon your return."

And so it seemed that the shopkeep of the flower store was shrewd enough to be open to alternative arrangements should the need arise. It was a gesture that Hafwen appreciated greatly regardless of what Mercy thought of it. Money was not easy to come by, hence she had made it a personal habit of hers to ask about the options available prior to making her decision in situations such as this. See if she could stretch her dollar and get what she wanted at the same time.
"Indeed it is. An annual day dedicated to the celebration of love and friendship among all. If you could do that, I'm sure that the intended recipients of Mercy's gifts will be in for a real treat since they can enjoy both your flowers and Mr Richard's chocolates at the same time." Dipping her head slightly to express her appreciation towards the older man for his thoughtful gesture, she smiled at him then at Mercy who was suddenly clinging to her, presumably after being startled by the dog leashed to the booth set up for the festivities.
"It's alright Mercy. The dog is just as excited about Valentines' Day today as we all are." She gently patted the little girl's back, giving her a couple of seconds to reassure herself that everything was fine before offering a polite smile at the other female who was asking about purple flowers. "Flowers first then chocolates from the Sugar Shanty. Do you need the red and pink roses in a mixed bouquet or something? He could probably put them together like that if you want you know." She then patiently waited for Mercy to take the candy wrapper that Krishna had hastily scribbled on so that they could start heading towards the flower shop as instructed next. "Alright. Let's go look for Gwen then."

As the flower shop owner explained the types of purple flowers, Fleur nodded. She waited until he was done talking about the special with the other, though, to say, "All of those sound lovely. I'll have to see them first, of course, so I think I'll take a look." Not that she didn't care about the special. She liked deals and wasn't willing to part with a ton of money. It was just that what she was asking for was not anything close to a dozen specifically colored roses. She then turned to the two girls and smiled back at them, especially trying to look as encouraging as she cold to the younger of the two, who seemed to be scared of a nearby dog. "The flowers you would like sound nice as well. May I come with you?" Not that it really mattered, she was going to the flower shop no matter what they said. They couldn't forbid her, and if they were going at the same time... She walked casually across to the flower shop, Padma's Bouquet. Peeking in the door, she saw an employee with black and white hair looking rather confused. That wasn't a good sign. "...Hello?" Quicksilver the Archangel

Sirsce drew to a stop in front of a heavily decorated booth set up in the parking lot of Sugar Shanty's. It seemed an ideal place for her next venture, as her legs ached after the marathon dancing she'd done at the arcade. She could use some sugar in her to keep her Valentine's Day escapades going until her curfew. However, the smells that assailed her weren't simply confections - there were roses adorning the booth as well. It sounded as though the men running the booth were selling something, undoubtedly a Valentine's Day special. However, before she bought the candies on sale, she wanted to peruse the variety of sweets inside the shop. After weaving her way through the loose-knit crowd, she reached the lace-laden door of the building. It rang lightly as she pushed her way inside. The shop itself didn't have as much traffic as the booth, though Sirsce couldn't speculate why. Maybe it had something to do with the guy who was trying to sell roses to everything that breathes, or the giant dog that slobbered over anyone who came close? Okay, maybe she could speculate, and the dog was rather cute... Maybe she'd take a stop by the booth after all. Who knows, perhaps she'd find something nice for her mother in there. The selections offered inside the shop didn't appeal to her greatly; it looked as though their stock of peanut brittle was sold out, and she didn't like their selection of lollipops. They had some delicious-looking candy, but an entire candy bar was out of the question. However, there were some raspberry-filled chocolates in the sampler trays that looked absolutely delectable. Carefully she reached through the small group encompassing the tray and seized one of the bite-sized candies. However, as she bit into it, she found she didn't appreciate the combination of raspberry and chocolate. Rather than spitting it out, she choked it down and discarded the empty wrapper into a half-full waste basket. Maybe that wasn't such a good idea. Sirsce exited the building with a disappointed huff. Perhaps she would visit the booth after all; surely they offered something a little less rich than what was inside? Upon excusing and apologizing her way through the crowd, she managed to reach the booth's makeshift counter. "Ooh!" She exclaimed, as she felt a wet nose brush against her leg. It turns out the dog was as interested in her arrival as a certain businessman who assailed her soon afterward. "Oh, um..." Sirsce stumbled. "Is this your dog? He's really cute. Oh, and... That sign says 'see Richard for bacon'. Who's Richard? And can I really feed the dog?" She reached down to pet the wolfhound as she spoke. He seemed incredibly friendly. "And does he like roses?" She considered leaving one with the dog once she took care of her purchases.

Harper laughed at the wolfhound's friendly antics and sloppy hand-kisses. It was a matter of safety to let dogs have a sniff first, but clearly this one wanted nothing to do with formalities. She gave him a scratch behind the ear in response to the big-eyed pleading; he probably thought himself a foot tall with the eyes of a deer. "You're here to make sure I spend more money, aren't you, A cú faoil?" From their spot next to the booth, it was easy to hear the clamorings of mercantilism. "You don't need to try too hard. It sounds like your master - whichever one he is - knows what he's doing." Harper couldn't monopolize the dog's affections for long, however, and the approach of another adoring patron with tri-colored hair divided his attentions. (He could probably entertain about five people without a hitch, not entirely due to his size, and perhaps around twelve kindergarteners if her sliding-scale math was correct.) The other girl pointed out a sign: "See Richard for Bacon." No wonder! "Cunning boy, not just in this for your master, then," she quipped to the wolfhound, and then to the shopowners added, " I'd be interested in some bacon for the kind fellow, too."

Gwen hadn't gotten nearly as much done in the shop as she wanted to before Krishna seemed to throw her to the wolves, or rather, throw the wolves at her. The chime of the bell was her only warning before the three girls appeared in the store. By this time, Gwen had managed to find the freesia, though now she wasn't sure if she'd need it anymore. She had spent so much time finding this one plant that she didn't hear what the other two were in there for, but that didn't mean she couldn't do her absolute best. She looked to the girl with the green hair, holding up the freesia and hoping that's what she wanted. Her beaming golden eyes shot to all of the customers, hoping that what she lacked in knowledge, she could make up for in sheer enthusiasm, "Hey, welcome to Padma's Bouquet! I'm guessing Mr. Dhawan sent you in here for your flowers? If you tell me which ones you need, I'll get them for you!"She was a little flustered and had come in late, so she wasn't sure which order to address them in. Hopefully they would have kept track of that themselves, though she couldn't imagine things getting too bad if there was a little bit of a dispute. It were three girls in a flower shop... Gwen pitied them if they tried to start a ruckus in his store! Baldwin could not be happier with the attention he was getting at the hands of Harper. He couldn't understand the words she was saying, but the mirth in her voice and the loving tone it took was enough for Baldwin's tail to wag and wag and wag. He sniffed her again, hoping for some sign of a treat on her or incoming and when he smelled nothing but chocolates, roses, and her deodorant, he moved his nose to the next girl that had ventured close enough. Maybe she would have a treat for him? He did not see them read the sign, but Richard had, as he turned to both of the ladies when they approached him. His mind was simply on the sale and after his ordeal with Alexandre he felt as if he had a lot of ground to catch up on. So, he put forth his best face, getting halfway through his little sales pitch before realizing what the two were there for, as well as recognizing the little hussy with seaspray green hair. He almost, almost lost his smile, but he felt he recovered well. "I hope you two ladies are finding everything here delectable and pleasant. Is there anything I can assist you wi...with, besides treating my best friend?"He never once regretted bringing Baldwin, and in truth, his dog was being very well behaved, all things considered. Not to mention it seemed that the dog had done well in distracting Harper from recognizing him as the weasel that flirted with her recently legal friend less than a month ago. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a plastic bag, snapping a piece in two before opening the bag and handing them a piece each. Baldwin's ears perked and the dog began to whimper with excitement, smelling the bacon but knowing to refrain. "Now, watch your fingers, young ladies. There is nothing Baldwin likes more than this, except perhaps straight from the skillet."Baldwin's tail wagged so hard that it almost threatened to take down the booth, but at the sight of Richard placing a finger to his lip made the dog drop to its belly. He wanted that bacon so bad, but he couldn't disappoint his master. He looked back and forth between the girls, and if the dog could talk, he would be BEGGING right now.

Sirsce had only just noticed the arrival of another girl, eager to pet the excited dog. "Isn't he cute?" She asked the green-haired girl. "I just love animals; I'd totally take him home if he wasn't, um, owned." With a crowd like this, she could probably make off with the large dog, but someone would miss him. Or he might bite her for trying to steal him. Or maybe the owner would send thugs after her to teach her a lesson and leave her in a dumpster. Or the dog might even eat her. On second thought, she'd abstain from animal thievery. She looked up when a well-dressed man assailed her. "I, um, just want to pet your dog for now. I haven't decided what I want yet." Sirsce straightened up and turned her attention from the dog to regard the man in front of her. He handed her a piece of bacon, which she studied quizzically. Was she supposed to toss the bacon in the air for the dog to catch, or should she hold her hand out and let the dog take it from her? Maybe the owner would have his pet do super fantastical tricks for them, and they could feed the dog bacon afterward. But she wanted to feed him now. He looked so forlorn, and the whimpering wasn't helping. It looked as though the dog was going to implode if he didn't get some bacon soon, and Sirsce didn't want to be the reason behind an unsightly pile of guts because they tantalized the poor puppy with bacon. "Okay, um, I'm going to feed him." Sirsce leaned over and stretched her hand outward, offering the dog bacon on her flattened palm. "Here, cutie!"

Mercy took the wrapper from the brunette gentleman with a smile and a curtsey. "Thank you, kind sir," she spun around in place with the wrapper for a minute before clutching it close to her chest with one hand and taking Hafwen's hand in her other and skipping towards the flower shop she looked over her shoulder and smiled. "We'll be back soon for our chocolates!" She called to the two men, before following the other girl into the shop. She bit her lower lip a little when she saw what state the poor girl running the shop was in and, hoping she wasn't cutting in line, scooted up to the counter and handed her the note. "M-Mr. Dhawan gave me this to give to you, Miss," She scuffed her foot on the floor again, scooting back away from the counter and looking down at the floor. "I-I hope it's alright,"The elven-year-old wasn't normally this shy - but she felt kind of bad that she was basically getting a deal that she normally wouldn't.

Hafwen supposed that it really didn't matter who Gwen chose to attend to first between Mercy and Fleur just so long as she got to everyone's orders in the end. Sparing a moment to offer the obviously flustered shop assistant a sympathetic smile, she took a side step into an inconspicuous corner, where she wouldn't pose an obstruction to the flow of human traffic in and out of the shop, so that she could observe the eleven year old's interaction with the older female when she handed over the candy wrapper with her order written on it.
She already had a pretty good idea as to what she would be getting from here, pretty much content to help Mercy with her gift purchasing first until she had what she needed. Besides, she figured that it would be a good opportunity for the little girl to learn how to do such things on her own since it wasn't often that she got out much with someone other than her own family. If anything went wrong at any one point in time however, Hafwen would be sure to step in.

"Of course, who wouldn't want to shower Baldwin with love and affection? If my hands weren't full, I'd be giving him a good belly rub right now!" Richard kept his tone pleasant and upbeat, despite the smallest sliver of jealousy at the sight of his dog getting so much attention, as well as some nervousness in if Harper would recognize him. He kept his full attention on Sirsce for now, even as she accepted the bacon and was contemplating on how best to feed Baldwin. At her hesitation, Richard could see the longing in Baldwin's eyes and his whimpers got louder, and now he was growing agitated. 'Would you just... give him the piece before he has a heart attack, the poor thing?!'It took much of his considerable effort to keep this scream mental, but thankfully, it seemed that the young girl wasn't a dog torturer after all, and that was enough to ease the growing anxiety within the candyman for now. Given the way his day was going, who knew how long this tranquility would last? Baldwin didn't care. It was worth the wait for that one piece, and as much as he loved bacon, he made sure to use only his tongue to lap of the piece and only crunching down when the piece was in his mouth. For all of the dog's patience and calm, the way he devoured that piece of bacon made it seem as if he hadn't been fed in weeks (which, if one knew Richard, that was a blatant lie). His whimpers ceased, replaced with excited yips, as he looked to Harper. Baldwin was a smart dog- he knew his master gave her a piece, and now he waited as patiently as possible for the next piece, though the way his tail wagged, his whole body shook. He REALLY loved bacon! Gwen felt like she had opened her mouth and inserted her foot right in there, but since when did that stop her from doing her best? She gladly accepted Mercy's ticket first and beamed, as it was the easier of the orders. She placed the freesia down on the counter and spun around to look at Fleur, since Hafwen seemed to disappear down an aisle while she was setting the plant down. "So, I have an order for a dozen pink and yellow for you, and what would you like, ma'am?"It was weird to be calling people around her age 'ma'am' and she was certain that it might have offended them, but dammit, she promised Krishna she'd make a conscious effort to be more polite, if she couldn't be knowledgeable!

Fleur stepped aside as she entered the shop so Mercy could make her purchase while she browsed. The shop was filled with many beautiful arrangements, but Gwen had the brightest purple flowers. Fleur looked up at the ma'am, a bit insulted but only because she'd rather be called miss. She was still in school, she was definitely not an old lady, or even a married one. Still, she didn't care that much and only narrowed her eyes a bit as she looked up. "Me? I'm not exactly sure, I want something purple and nice." She walked forward, taking a more careful look at the flowers on the counter. They were, in fact, purple, a pretty shade of it. Fleur nodded. "Are these freesia? They're pretty, anyway." It was a logical guess, based on the fact that they were in the color she'd requested and she didn't recognize them. "How much are they?" she asked, meeting Gwen's gaze coolly. She wanted to look like she didn't care, but... now that she'd seen the flowers, she waned them. She knew she needed at least enough money left over to buy chocolate, and spending less money in general was always good.

Mercy frowned and looked back up at Gwen. No, that wasn't right. Ticking off what the ticket should say on her fingers, going one by one, she moved back to the counter next to Fleur, trying to not get in the way and shook her head. "Miss, that should be a dozen red, a dozen pink and just two yellow roses," She spoke up, frowning a bit. "I don't mean to be a bother, but, I do want my order right - it's very important..."She shot a glance Hafwen's way and smiled. A dozen of those roses were for her "sister" after all, even if she didn't know it yet. Changing her frown into a smile she giggled a little. "It's okay though, you seem to be very, very busy - it's a simple mistake." Opening her purse, she pulled out a small money clip and looked over the cash she had (it was not a small amount by any stretch of the imagination.) Turning to look at Fleur she chewed her bottom lip for a minute and spoke up again. "And I would like to pay for her order as well..." She tilted her head in the direction of Fleur. Valentines was about spreading the love right?

((Just doing this for my own personal rpness and what not. :3 You don't need to include me in the raffles or anything and if you want to respond is up to you because I know I'm pretty late.)) Valentines Day. It wasn't really a holiday Aitana Ceu Matos celebrated herself. Not really because she harbored any hatred or ill will towards the holiday of love and chocolate. She was neither a jaded hater nor some giggley little girl hoping for validation of someone liking her. No. Other then occasionally admiring an attractive man or woman she seemed fairly oblivious to love and relationships. Not that that was a particularly bad thing in it's own way considering her fairly busy schedule.
Had she ever had a valentine? Other than when she was very little and everyone gave small trinkets and papers to each other in class, she could not recall. Could Coralie be her valentine maybe? Mmm.. probably not, not when she had a boyfriend already. How did that kind of thing work anyway? Could you have multiple valentines?
On her way home from school after volleyball practice, she hadn't bothered changing from her players uniform, unintentionally conforming to the colors of the holiday. Her backpack swung over her shoulder, holding her volleyball and english (ick) book. It was the sound of a small crowd of people chattering away and the dog that had drawn her attention towards the make shift counter in the parking lot. Curiousity got the best of her, and before long the Brazilian had wandered closer, at one point crouching down to grin at the dog. Poor doggy, wearing silly costumes.
The smell of flowers and chocolates were strong now that she was close and her eyes flicked over the tables curiously. Flowers were of no interest to her, most seemed boring compared the beautiful jungle flowers she remembered from her homeland in the Amazon. Not to mention the strange custom of cutting and killing said flowers instead of leaving them alone to flourish and be beautiful. It was really beyond her. But candy! Candy could be a good thing if it wasn't way too sweet.
Mostly she saw chocolate and heart boxes, her nose crinkling thoughtfully at the girly display. Did they not have the hard candies? The bitter dark chocolates or candies with salty or spicy flare? Her hand slipped to her backpack, feeling around until she found some crumbled bills to make sure she had them.
There were lots of people there busily working through their transactions, but that didn't stop Aitana from trying to butt in, calling out loudly to whoever would listen to her and her thick Brazilian accent. "Is this all candy? Where are salted caramels? Cinnamon candies?"Quicksilver the Archangel
