Zia went from confused to entirely blank. Processing error for the win.
"Wait so... so you're.. you want to cure yourself?" It honestly hadn't ever occurred to her, fixing the condition that was a senshi starseed. "You can't, it's just the way you were born, it's at the-- wait..."
Except his starseed had already been changed. To a mirror senshi. Hers had been changed entirely to a cat. Starseeds were malleable. The realization of this thought process suddenly seems to generate a surge of energy within her waiting to get out, kind of like her words suffered from some serious brain clog.
"Oh my god." If he could be cured... what would that mean? All the mirror people could be saved? She could be saved.
"Oh my god!" And with that she sprung into action ad grabbed her purification/corruption binder. "I guess-- what if-- I think it's like--" She was babbling and not even finishing her sentences.
She stood up on her chair and leaned close to his face, both hands on his cheeks as she inspected his face very closely. "So what you're saying is you haven't bonded even a bit with your senshi identity and would like to completely negate the inherited condition of your starseed?" She asked, forcefully trying to tilt his face a little like she was looking for some anomaly in his eyes.
"I suppose this means you haven't recovered any memory of being Sailor Orpheus before, either!" The next way she poked, prodded, and pulled just about caused a light headbutt between them, and she was wide eyed and going a mile a minute. "Do any of you get memories or are you completely distanced from your identities?"
Suddenly he wasn't an inconvenience; He was the most interesting person in the world.

He figured she was just going to say something to annoy him further but instead she said something that perked his ears right up. The word was simple but amazing to him. Could this be cured? He considered it as simple as a disease but he didn't think it would be quite so simple to fix. Of course, almost immediately she shot him down and then seemed to take it back. He was wrong, she said something to annoy him. However, the hope compelled him to keep his sigh to himself.
"Do you think it's a viable option?" He'd never thought, I mean, how would you even go about it. "How would something like that even work?"
In the hope, he completely ignored her own questions.

"People tweak starseeds all the time, why wouldn't it work," Zia stated. "No, but seriously, after time people are supposed to grow closer with their identities, and you've been around for two years now! And you feel nothing?"
She wasn't shocked, it came off almost like excitement, and her hands were still on his head. "That's amazing." She also felt a little bit of a connection.
"You're perfect."
Maybe it had been recent judgmental looks and attempts to convince her otherwise at her decision to avoid powering up as much as possible, if ever. But he was the same. He understood without ever knowing the problem.
"Well," She was suddenly done with his face and she hopped off her chair, now violating his space as the chest level as if she could somehow see the starseed inside. "You weren't born a mirror senshi, just a senshi. Ares made you one. Ares herself wasn't born a senshi at all, Nehelenia made her one. If you can create the senshi condition, I don't understand why you couldn't... break it..."
She picked up the binder she had rushed to grab a moment ago. "Though, even just to remove artificial elements it takes a HUGE amount of power." and after a pause. "I don't know where to start..."

Sailor Orpheus knew nothing about starseeds or senshi but that was because he chose to ignore virtually everything about the topic. To suddenly have it shoved in his face in a situation that was almost by choice made him want to throw up, and at the same time just smile as if he'd been given a puppy on a Christmas morning.
"Yeah, I'm pretty perfect," he said with a sly grin as he ran his hand through his hair like a movie star, trying to brush off his childlike excitement at the idea of getting rid of the curse. Of course, Zia always ruined his good time. She went and said he was born a senshi and his face turned unpleasant. Born? He was born a terrorist? That wasn't right, not unless his parents were terrorists. Well, maybe his father.
The thought of this father only made his face twist even more until he looked like he was going to bite her face off. How could he be born like this? It felt so wrong! There was no way it could be true, right? However, as a scientist he couldn't bring himself to believe or disbelieve in the idea presented to him until he could prove or disprove it otherwise. It made the situation worse because if he was born like this then could they really change it? He didn't like all the variables she was presenting him with.
What he knew of Ares was that she was powerful and if it took her power to change his starseed before then how could they remedy the problem without a source? There was no way he wanted to see Ares, and there was no way she'd help him other than what he assumed would be killing Zia and doing something terrible to him.
He sighed.
"I need to think about this. There's too many variables here."

Zia rolled her eyes with a snort at his grin, but then she just looked confused. His mood had shifted so sharply and she didn't know why. Was it because she didn't have the answers right now?
She would find them! That's what research and investigation was for.
"I... okay." And then an awkward pause. "Are you okay?" She couldn't think of anything she said that was outright horrible. The being born a senshi bit was so mundane it hadn't even occurred to her that could possibly be the offending information.
She retracted her hands and took a step back, folding both hands behind her as if that would rectify ever touching him and looking around. This was weird, and oddly tense. This was the point when she usually hopped out a window and made an escape except this was her base of operations and she was probably gong to be sleeping here, of all places, so she couldn't leave.
So she just kind of stood there, rolling on her heels in silence.

Sailor Orpheus pretty much jumped out the window for her but instead of the window he was standing in the doorway now. He looked back at her, his face looking like a puppy that had just been kicked in the face repeatedly. It wanted to believe that things could be better but the reality was so far from hope it was hard to believe in things anymore.
"I can't have been born like this. All this time I thought something had been stolen from me but you're telling me I was garbage from the first breath I took? A lot of my life sure makes sense now." He said as he looked at the mirror and then laughed before simply walking out of the room. He would need some time to register all this before he could attempt to fix himself.
