His hand reached out and he fondly ruffled her hair a bit with a grin, "Well, long as you did it on purpose, Toughie." He was pretty impressed. Sibyl took the fall like a pro! Most ghouls would be weeping or fussing at their legs to see if they had scraped anything.
"That you are! I bow to you," Kettil said with no sarcasm as he did a small bow and then looked over the rock and stick before he took them from her hand. "These are...Perfect!"
Quietly he crouched down and began to sharpen an end of the stick with the sharpest edge of the rock he could find.

There were some leaves and twigs sticking out of her hair and stuck to her clothes, as was to be expected from her fall, but Sibyl wasn't too bothered by it. As long as she wasn't stuck in the bush again. He bowed to her and she giggled, beginning to clap until the rock hit her hand and she remembered her hands were full. Right! Right...but they were perfect! Yay!
Sibyl handed the items over and crouched down beside Kettil, watching with interest as he went to work on making a spear.

Kettil paused sharpening the stick just long enough to pluck a leaf from the ghouls mass of hair, "Lookit ya, wild ghoul. Ya all ferocious!" he teased Sibyl with a laugh.
It didn't take him too long for him to sharpen the stick end to a nice enough point to spear something like a fish with enough strength. He flopped onto his backside to remove his boots and was soon wading in the water as deep as he could go and staring into the shimmering surface intently. Kettil trusted Sibyl to follow him, "The trick to this is ...Your eyes try to trick you where the fish is because sometimes the water and the light make it seem like the fish are right there in front of ya."
There was a quick sudden thrust when he speared the fish that seemed father from him than some of the other fish. As he lifted the stick it wiggled helplessly and mindlessly before it soon stilled. "Tada!"

Sibyl took Kettil's teasing as a compliment. She was ferocious! Yeaaaaaah! A ferocious and terrifying leopard seal selkie! She cheered. "The most dangerous beast in the sea~!" Or so she could pretend. Sibyl watched Kettil prepare his spear, following him into the water without needing any prompting. She already had no shoes or leggings, having been in the water earlier and just tossed on her dress after catching a fish in her seal form, so she didn't have to waste time with any of that nonsense.
So fishing above the water was a lot different from fishing below. Right! That made sense! Sibyl could understand this. His sudden throw did make her jump and duck behind him at first, though when she spotted the fish on the end of the spear she gasped and came out from behind Kettil again. "Whoaaaaa! YOU'RE AMAZING!"

Well luckily it was one part teasing and one part compliment. It was a teaspliment.
After he caught the fish on the spear he beamed at Sibyl as she praised him, "Damn straight I am," he beamed happily. After a couple of moments he tossed the now still fish over toward land so he could try to catch another one.
Alas he missed this time because the fish moved at the last second.
"Cheater." He sulked. What was worse was when the stick came up it was broken at the tip. He jabbed too hard.

Sibyl's eyes followed the fish as it flew through the air to land on the bank. It was very tempting to go and follow it to eat it herself but she wanted to watch Kettil fish some more. Maybe he would even let her try! Except her answer came when she heard Kettil call something a cheater and looked down at the stick. "Oh no! It broke your spear! I wanted to try.." Sibyl sulked beside the boil, looking quite dejected about this new development. Eventually she would show him how she hunted for fish but she wanted to try his way too! It looked really fun, and she'd seen villagers fish this way back at home.

"An easy fix," he laughed. There was still enough of the stick to use as a handle and have the point sharpened as well. He brought out the rock he'd tucked away in a pouch on his belt and resharpened it a lot quicker than he had prior.
He looked it over before he offered it over to her.

YAY! Sibyl squealed with delight and took the spear with a happy little 'thank youuuuuuus~!' before she turned back to face the river again. Don't look directly at the fish, the light would trick her. Right. She could do this. She could do thisssss...
Fishy fishy fishyyyy..
Oh! There was one! She gave the stick a throw only for it to just land flat on the water's surface, floating along in the current until Sibyl picked it up out of the water again. "Oops..."

"Okay!" Sibyl held the stick ready to throw, spotting another fish and not even hesitating to throw it this time.
She speared it!
"I GOT IT! KETTIL! KETTIL, LOOK! I GOT IIIIIT EEEEEEEEEE!" She lifted it out of the water, spotting a few teeth marks in the fish's side. Sibyl suddenly grinned. "Heh. Gots ya~." You thought you could escape, Mister Fish? You were wrong.

Kettil pushed two fists into the air, "YEAH YOU GOT IT! GOOD JOB!"
This was a full compliment. No teaspliment in sight.
He beamed at her and then looked around a little, "How do you eat your fish by the way? I mean do you eat it uncooked or do you eat it fresh out of the water?"

Sibyl was wading out of the water with her fishy prize when Kettil asked how she ate her fish, giving a little shrug and testing the weight and lifelessness of the fish. Yup, he was dead. He wouldn't be getting away again. "It depends! I usually hunt as a seal, so I eat it fresh out of the water as a seal." Sibyl was probably about to do this.
"Sometimes I cook it, but I'm not a super good cook. Do you cook your fish?" Oh, he still had rods. Should they catch more fish? She'd never used a fishing rod either.

"Ah! I'd like to see you hunt like that. Must be real neat." Kettil beamed happily. Clearly he wouldn't be able to learn how to be a seal.
He gave an enthused nod at her question, "Yeah! Usually! Sometimes I eat the fish raw depending on what I catch, cause a friend taught me how to make sushi," he chattered happily.
The boil caught her staring at his fishing equipment, "Ey! You wanna learn how to fish with that, too?"

"I can show you now if you want!" Sibyl loved to show off, probably a little too much. It was just so much fun to be in her seal form! It felt so...well..natural. She'd have to do it before they set up the rods though to avoid getting caught on any hooks by accident.
Ohhh so Kettil ate sushi! That was fun! She'd never prepared it officially so...maybe he could teach her that as well!
"Sure! You just put thingies on a hook, right?"

"That'd be pretty neat to see, so yeah!" Kettil said enthusiastically. There was something fun about talking to Sibyl. She seemed so sweet and innocent.
Her description of the process was true enough, "That's just one part of it! I mean you can't just drop the line in the water like the fish will just swim up to it. Gotta aim for a group of fish and try to entice them to take the bait. It's like making a puppet dance!"
