Ves'tacha laughs, full and throaty. "Ah, brave Gio. My will is a fickle beast. Think you to tame it?" With a slight shake of her head, she returns the nuzzle to show that she is teasing.
"But it seems you have utterly charmed my will into wishing to walk with you a ways. Let us then away, and perhaps find more purpose in the journey." With a grin, Ves'tacha bumps her shoulder lightly into his to give him direction and movement. She is careful to stay close, occasionally brushing against the stallion's side, keeping whatever comfortable pace he seems to set.
As they walk along, Ves'tacha keeps an eye out along the side of the road. With the season and the area of the lands they were in, she knew she would see something suitable soon enough. With a slight exhalation of delight, "Ah!" She brushes Gio's side again.
"I shall return in a moment. Please feel free to continue or wait as you wish. I'll rejoin you either way very shortly." And then she was heading off into the brush at the side of the path they had been following.

' One can't tame the wind, why even try? It is something free and in its own way beautiful. The same with the will. I would sooner try to empty the sea than to tame your will.' The banter may have been light and teasing, but there was enough truth there as well. Truth and manners such as he had held dear since foalhood. It was pleasant to remember them, even in jest.
He set a pace that was not a walk by any means, but was not too swift either. It was a nice amble, and with the sun and slight breeze, it was just perfect. And with such a genial companion it was even better. With light teasing banter and a friendly silence that settled without needing to be broken, Gio wondered why it had been so long since he had traveled with another. Then thought that perhaps it was because he had not found anyone so understanding and just easy to be around.
' I think I'll wait here,' he murmured more to himself than Ves'tacha.
He got slightly uneasy when she wandered off to see whatever it was that caught her interest, and he tensed, wondering if she would just leave him here in the middle of nowhere with no way to tell where he was or how to return. He stopped and tensed waiting for her to come back... if she was going to come back. And he heaved a silent sigh of relief when she did.
Perhaps that whole being afraid that whomever he was traveling with might just up and leave him alone was also a factor in his decision to travel by himself for the most part.

Ves'tacha in a short time, wreathed in the scent of gardenias. The flower has a powerful aroma. It smells nice, but strong. And she had picked five of them and tucked them into her mane and tied them in with her beads.
With a gentle nuzzle to announce her return, she speaks softly. "I hope I did not leave you bereft, friend Gio. Please accept my apology, I am sometimes unthinking."
"I hope you like the scent of these pretty white flowers. They are nice and strong and continue to smell for several days. They don't taste too good, though." Ves'tacha always took one of the flowers when she saw them. She liked their aroma and they were fairly hearty, lasting longer than many flowers she had tried to wear in her hair.
That the scent might make things easier for the stallion was a nice bonus, and the reason she had gathered so many. But it wasn't necessary to speak on that, so she started forward again, brushing against Gio's side as she did so to let him know of her forward progression.

LydaLynn Sorry, between my laptop issues- it finally died about two months ago-, the shop issues, losing all my rp links and just general lack of rp muse I just haven't really been able to do much. But now I have limited access to a new computer with which I can respond to rp, and the link to this (thanks for the quote by the way) I will definitely be wanting to continue this. He had gone still when she left. It was always a disconcerting experience for him. To be left alone when he was with someone. He couldn't tell where they went or if they would come back or just leave him standing around. His cheeks colored and he remember a few times when such had happened. The embarrassment was a familiar feeling, even though he disliked it immensely.
And though she had left him and returned once before, they were still new aquaintances and he couldn't know if she might find something more interesting than him. After all, how many enjoyed the chance to play guide to someone blind, he thought sarcastically. But before he could have the chance for these melancholy thoughts to put him in a black mood, he caught the scent of flowers headed his way, along with the sound of hoofbeats. He hoped it was his 'friend' returning.
'I...apologies are not necessary. ' He always felt so awkward with his situation, and more often than not, he was the one who needed to apologise for one thing or another. And really, he didn't expect her to sty attached to his side every moment during their travels, though it was nice that she thought enough of him to offer up the apologies. 'Though if it is not too much trouble, a bit of warning next time might be... appreciated.
He might not say it out loud, but he was impressed. This was a rather novel and ingenious method to assist him. Using scent as opposed to touch or sound, even if it was a little less accurate, but still, there were some definite possibilities here. ' That scent is rather pleasant. If I may, what is the name of the flower?'
He could smell the flowers getting closer to him, so this time, when she brushed against his side, Gio was more prepared, and didn't flinch. He smiled to himself. Yes, there were definitely possibilities with this whole flower thing....

Ves'tacha laughs lightly and shrugs. "I don't know. I've never heard anyone name them. But they are rather large and have such a pleasant scent that I can't pass them up when I happen across them."
"I will try not to be so precipitous next time, friend Gio. I have not traveled with another since . . ." Ves'tacha's voice stills for a moment. When it returns it is softer and with a touch of sadness, "It has been some time. I should hope to fall back into the courtesies of such travel soon. Until such time, I should hope that you would bare with my slips in manners."dawns_aura No worries, things got insane for a bit for everyone. I'm just getting back to feeling like rp again.

Though he had been curious as to what the flower was called, it was no big loss to not know. He just needed to remember the scent and file away the question, to ask someone else at another time. He also filed away the fact that they were large, after all that bit of information might be useful in their identification.
'It must be nice to have something familiar upon which you can count. Even if it is just a flower. A pleasant memory...' his voice trailed off somewhat wistfully. 'A tangible memory that one can hold onto, even when the event is long past... The rememberance of a good friend, or family, or one that was dear to your heart. It is a kind thing.'
So he was feeling perhaps a little sentimental, causing him to wax rather poetic, but whatever. It was not something he indulged in often, but he did have the moments. Particularly when he could connect something to his long-lost herd and even more recently to his friend Lumriel and their delightful foals, his two sons who were his joy and the daughter who was his treasure.
He heard the hesitation as she started to mention something but trailed off rather suddenly. A painful memory most like, something he knew quite well himself, so he chose to ignore it and allow her to hold the pain to herself if she chose.'You needn't be too overly concerned with your actions, as long as you don't intend to leave me somewhere all on my own then it is all well. Though perhaps that might seem rather naïve or overly optimistic, I believe there is little else that is unforgivable. Unless you are other than you appear...'
He kept his tone light, though this was his greatest fear. That he might misjudge someone so terribly and they might easily overpower him. Before Lumriel, this might not have mattered to him so much, and in fact there were times he might even have welcomed the possibility of death, now that he had a family he wanted to live more than anything.

Ves'tacha pauses for a moment, when her voice comes, it is soft and inquisitive. "And how do I appear, gentle Gio? Would you think me kind? Seem I happy? Do you suppose that love deeply or hurt callously?"
"I have long walked the roads and paths of the world. I travel, for it is my nature. And I love, for it is my nature. And I have lost, because of my nature. Yet I seek each new horizon, each new experience. Those that bring sorrow only deepening those which bring joy."
"I do not know how I seen to you. Yet know that I offer no physical harm. I intend no emotional wounding. Yet I am mortal and fallible. I shall not take leave of your company without bidding you fare well. If that is not enough, speak now, for it is what I have to give."
