Quote: Maslin's stats LP: 0 ENG: 70 eng Maslin was shocked by the sudden ferocity from Kadryn and while he dodged the first few blows, he was not fast or agile enough to avoid a pummeling that ended with him laid flat out on his back barely conscious. What had he done to deserve such pain? Lazuli snarled and lept from his resting spot to barrel towards the fighting duo. The young drakein would not stand to see Maslin further hurt. He had already fallen, if Kadryn did not stop her assault he would stop her himself. He was peaceful by nature but there were things he could not stand and this one one of them.

Kadryn growled as she felt her blows connect and her opponent fell; then as she looked at the next target, the small figure bounding towards her, she realized what she'd done. And the knowledge that she'd attacked a friend with the intent to kill sent a spike of fear down her spine and shocked her out of her blood-thirst. "Oh no! Maslin!" She turned to Maslin and fanatically checked to make sure he wasn't dead. "I'm so sorry, I .. I didn't mean to go berserk on you!" She silently berated her self for her lack of control; how could she have done something so stupid?! He was only an Apprentice, and one who didn't like to fight! "I'm so sorry! Please don't hate me!" She blurted out her fear, that she'd scare away people with her berserker blood and that she'd lose a friend due to her lack of control...To be feared was not what she wanted.

Lazuli slowed down and ceased his snarling when it became apparent that no further harm would come to Maslin. Instead he gave the young man a concerned whistle and moved to nudge his shoulder gently, offering to lend his strength to help heal the downed hybrid.
" I don't hate you," Maslin murmured as he tried to gather enough focus for a healing spell. Choosing Peisio as he clan had made the young man a little more durable in fights and it was easier to recover after battles. It had done little to help strengthen him though and was starting to wonder if he was ever going to progress enough to be done with this.
Still, he had asked to spar and Kadryn had won, he couldn't be mad at her for that even if he was not thrilled with her loss of control. He was just happy she hadn't been using her weapon when that had happened or he might be have been crippled or killed.
" Do you do that often?"

"Um, only in battle, or when I get really angry. I .. I think I went berserk cause of that last spell, it really hurt and I guess you went from being a friend and harmless to enemy and dangerous..."
She sat down next to Maslin. Now that she was no longer fighting she could feel all the pain from his spells. Well, this was an informative match, now she knew that she had to be extra careful when sparring. Maslin was tougher than he looked, the next person might not be and.... She shuddered at the thought, she could kill someone by accident if she didn't learn better control.
"Thought I was doing good on control too, but guess not. I'll have to go talk to Uncle Tarlon and see if he has any advice or training I can do to help me maintain control of myself." She sighed; real battles were much easier. Nobody cared if you went berserk and killed Dragons, but she had to be so careful around other people...

Maslin's skin seemed to glow with a soft golden light for a moment before he sat up. He still ached and likely would for a day or two but he wouldn't bruise and at least he could function now. Still the young man felt exhausted from the short but vicious fight.
"Well you did turn your back on me" he pointed out, it had been what had allowed her to hit him with her wings. " You were pretty open to unexpected attack." While it had done Maslin little good against dragons thus far he knew his magic was strong. Not strong enough to win him a fight but enough to apparently jolt the seemingly mild mannered Kadryn into a fierier fighter than he'd ever seen. Not that he'd had much chance to watch battles but still.
" Uncles tend to be useful for this sort of thing." he agreed with a small smile . Lazuli had settled down by now and was sprawled on the grass watching the pair and listening to them talk. The young drakein still picking out the nuances of certain tones of voice and specific word phrases.
( note: battle lost: 5.5 (21/11)= 10.45 exp gained)

Kadryn was rather startled by the golden light that Maslin glowed with for a second before sitting up. Mages were really handy if they could heal like that!
"I did didn't I? Next time I spar I'll have to remember not to do that. Especially if it's against a mage. You saw my uncle briefly at the Festival, the big tattooed Orderite at Aunt's stall." She returned Maslin's smile with a small one of her own, "From what you just said I take it you have uncles?"
She reached out to rub Lazuli's snout again. He seemed so much more tame and quiet than Grrel. She was always moving about or twitching.. though that could have been because she was a Kiandri....

Maslin nodded and began to explain a little about his family , his uncles in particular. Kadryn was a decent person, she'd helped him today when he was in all honestly probably less useful to hit than a rock for her. His being a hybrid didn't bother her and she'd been unphased by the change of his eye colour from taking a dovaa clan. There were still things he didn't trust her with and issues he wouldn't broach with her but for now he was content to consider the blue skinned girl a friend.
Lazuli rumbled with contentment, the fighting was done, everyone was happy again and for a little while at least their would be peace and pettings.
