Round three!!
Thread has now begun to fall over the Weyr itself, there's no room for mistakes anymore. The incoming storms are forcing in harsh winds, making the patches' descents difficult to predict. It will take a careful and watchful pair to not be caught in this mess. Riders should also remember to watch out for their wingmates in these dangerous times.

Burmeth was pleased with his performance so far. This thread could not be allowed to live. Now when it was coming here to their homes. That was not permitted! But while his anger had fuelled his actions, the same worry that usually distracted him in threadfall was beginning to come into play.
His R'nan was here, with him, in danger! He did not want. Oh, if only he could fight thread without putting His in danger, that would be the best.
I'll be fine, Burmeth. R'nan assured him. Just pay attention to what you're doing! he said, as Burmeth's last blast of fire just grazed the leading edge of a patch, leaving much of it to fall below them where (fortunately) a sprightly green was able to dive to catch it.

Tigrith squeeled in startled pain, blinking between on instinct. Dizzian's heart leapt to her throat as she counted, her body trembling with the need to see again and the sharp phantom pain she could feel through her connection to Tigrith.
Daylight. Overcast stormy skies never looked so welcoming as Dizzian sucked down a deep cold breath and twisted in her seat to look over her shoulder. Ichor trickled down Tigrith's tail from an open wound just behind her legs. She was hurt! She'd never been hurt before! Yellow whirled in the green's eyes. Even in her enthusiastic flying she'd never taken anything worse than a wingstrain.
We should land! You need help! Dizzian glanced forward to her wingleader, about to signal their dropping out when Tigrith cut in sharply.
~ No! It is only my tail I can still fly! I can't leave now!~ She nudged Dizzian for more of the hated firestone.
But you're hurt! You're bleeding!
~ It's not that bad. I thought it would be worse. ~ In all honesty she wanted to land, to get numbweed and be pampered by the healers. It wasn't an option though. Unless she could no longer fly she had to remain aloft and continue the fight.

Round four!!
As thread moved over the Weyr (Was it just the riders or did it seem to move slower when they knew their loved ones were at risk?) the harsh winds slowly began to die down. The fall, without this added difficulty, soon became much more predictable and easily managed. Wings were getting into a steady flow and this seemed to bolster the spirits of those that flew.
(+3 to every roll)

Fresh stone and another go. Dizzian wasn't happy, the pain in her tailbone was distracting to her and even more so to Tigrith whos wound it was. The green had a point, using her rider's vanity and greed against her as she talked of how the boys would coo over how brave they were, fighting on even through injuries.
They still weren't flaming with the best of accuracy, but they were making progress and the wings below were managing to pick up the slack.

Finally, as the harsher winds died down, T'nus and Azimuth were able to get ahead of things. Now they were back into the swing of it, they started doing much better.
Angling in perfectly, Azimuth caught a patch of thread head-on and destroyed it all.
Round 4 Total = 11 + 9 + 3 = 23

Yeah, that's more like it! R'nan cheered as, with a huge burst of flame, Burmeth once again stooped to incinerate a whole path of thread, and just miss the one beyond it! Burmeth purred under R'nan's praise. He was not usually interested in threadfall (and it was always a battle for R'nan to get him there) but when his attention was captured, he sure did make an impact! R'nan wanted to be sure to encourage him a lot now, so maybe next time they had to report for threadfall, Burmeth would be a little more willing.
((wow, R'nan is one lucky so-and-so))

Round five!!
The fall had passed the Weyr and was slowly making it's way across the rest of the island. The fall was well over half way through and wings were beginning to tire. Still the flights of dragons continued against their ancient enemy, not content to allow any thread to pass by their watch.
((Oh my gosh, guys, I am so, so, so sorry that I missed a day. Since the game needs to end by a set date I'll leave it up to you guys; would you rather miss a round or have two rounds in one day so it stays as seven?))
