"I wasn't expecting to see a little leg here in my room," Gale retorted, realized how that sounded, and promptly turned even redder, arms folded defiantly across his chest. Nick was now flopped closer, and the scowl on Gale's face became more pronounced.

"Well, as a girl, I would expect you to act like one but apparently that's not going to happen, Peapod."

He shoved her face away from his ear.

Nick snorted as he shoved her away, and scooped her old pants up off the floor. "Oh my, there is a boy in the room! I can't change my trousers here!" She said, mimicking his accent, quite badly, and then grinning again. "Girly gestures are ******** overrated."

Despite his grouchiness, Nick couldn't remember the last time she had cause to smile this much.
