Otto never claimed he knew everything, but right now he felt he knew a Hell of a lot more than Gale. But he always felt that way, because Gale. Obviously that was a solid excuse. The other blonde's constant snooty attitude made Otto wish he had an arsenal of information to throw at him, just to piss him off at how much more awesome he was. If only."Tch. Shows what you know." Otto looked smug. That b*****d thought he'd make that s**t up. Just how pathetic did he think he was, anyway? "Actually, it's Eva." He said matter of factly, blunt and straight forward. "Not so imaginary now, huh? Smartass." Interrogating a dude just trying to get some bed rest. For shame, Gale. For shame.

It was strange how time seemed come to a complete train wreck of a stop around him; loud, crashing, screeching metal on metal. All the color drained from Gale's face.

Huh.. Gale looked kind of pale....er. He seemed less snarky than before, and a lot more.. upset..? He knew something about this bothered Gale, but he wasn't sure if it was jealousy or not. Over the fact he had a girl and Gale didn't.. or that the girl he was with was the issue. Otto raised a brow, giving Gale a disgusted look. "Dude, why would I lie? Specially if its concernin' Eva. That's just sick." The teen huffed and sunk into his pillow. "Ask her yerself if yer so damned uppity about it." He drawled in an irritated, but still tired tone. "What's so ********' weird about me havin' a girlfriend? Jerkwad... I'm not a damned scumbag'r sumthin'...." He continued muttering to himself about the issue.

"No," said Gale, and he took a step back from Otto's bed as though distancing himself from him, as though by putting space it would make everything different, because this could not be true, it could not be true that Otto and Eva were together, it was impossible -
"No," said Gale again, and he shook his head, his blonde and white hair falling about his face. "No, you're lying, you're just saying that because you know I - because of the way I feel about - "
But even as he was denying it, there was a small voice inside of his head that was reminding him that Otto did not know about his feelings for Eva, that he had not told anyone other than a select few.
This isn't happening.

Okay, now maybe Otto was a teeny bit worried. Or not so much worried. Concerned? Gale almost looked like he was starting one of the stages of grief. It didn't take long to piece together why Gale was upset, after all, he almost let it slip. "....wait.." Otto wasn't sure how to feel about this, but.. "...you like Eva?"It was pretty obvious by this point. Gale's reaction gave him away.

Considering he'd lost most of the color in his face, it was surprising how rapidly it now came back, a bright red staining Gale's cheeks.

. . . Well then. Otto was conflicted. On one hand, he had one upped Gale by getting the girl, and beating Gale at something was a feat to be celebrated. However, not only was it in poor taste to rub it in his face, he'd be devastated if the situation were reversed. So while he hated Gale, he held his tongue and urge to laugh in his face. Otto was a d**k, but not that much of a d**k. "Ooooh.." He trailed off his noise of realization, drumming his cut up fingers on his knee. There was nothing he could say to that. He didn't feel sorry for him. Not at all. Otto, after all, also had strong feelings for Eva. Suddenly, this awkward visitation became ten times more awkward.

It was sort of like he was living in some sort of alternate universe, because really it was not possible that Eva was now dating the one person he had the most issue with on the island (unless you counted Rep) - but simultaneously the one person who Gale had not even considered to be "competition" because Otto was only a few months older than he was, hardly a year, and Eva was older and Gale had assumed that meant she would want someone older.
Apparently not.
Gale took another step backwards, shaking his head.
And then he turned and ran from the room without looking back.

Otto always thought that beating Gale at something he'd wanted would bring him some sort of prize. He thought having something to hold over his head would be the best feeling in the world. But he wasn't sure how he felt about what he just saw. He saw Gale's heart break. It brought no joy. But at the same time, it brought no pity. Otto liked Eva, and he wanted her for himself. In that way, he was glad Eva chose him too. Gale was his rival, but he never imagined that rivalry stemmed out to a war of love as well. There was no winner or loser. Otto laid back down, exhausted from his encounter with the other teen, laying a hand over his forehead with a strained sigh.
