xxxxxxxxxxxxxxThis was the best day and the worst day she's been looking forward to for so long. Koharu and Ayana were awake, she saw Koharu again, spoke with him. But just as much as the reunion made her happy, it also upset her. Her parents were bound to find out they were awake now and so would again their plans be put into action. She wished she could've stayed with her newly awakened friends longer. But if she had, a search party probably would've been sent out. Being the oldest princess put a lot of... strain on her because of the fact that her family was intent on taking the Matkovic's land and throne. But as much as that was true, she didn't want to marry for just those reasons. Her parents wanted to use her to gain what they wanted, but if she ever did marry, she would not let them have any say, she would not let them have any part in her marriage or family she could have. They would have no rights to the throne should anything happen to her or her husband, she had decided that a long time ago when the marriage was arranged for her and Koharu. She would not make these plans known to her family, instead she'd keep quiet and pretend that she was the doll they wanted her to be, but she still showed her free will.

When Koharu and Ayana were asleep, many other suitors approached her and she didn't do anything more than greet them. She never accepted anyone's offer to marry, she would not be the perfect pawn for anyone. Sighing softly, she headed towards her home and the strict rules. However she came across the scent of someone familiar and she followed it curiously. "Father... what are you doing here?" she asked surprised though trying not to sound too surprised or curious as she approached from the side.

It was rather humorous that Lucian seemed to be on good behavior and not so cross. Or, that was how Mihr saw her charge this morning. She had been watching him for too long to believe that this mood would last, but she could always hope that it would. He must have sensed something she had not. The presence and sound of footsteps had not alluded her notice, but she had not known who they belonged to. This person was new. It did not matter who the vampire found interesting, or pleasurable for company, but Mihr would not let her guard down. The moment she did, she would be at a disadvantage. There was already enough of a disadvantage between herself and Lucian. He remembered the years he had lived, and his experiences. Mihr remembered next to nothing about own experiences. She only knew the earthly kingdom and the people she had normally interacted with. She knew Lucian had relations here, and that was who he was meeting, given his words. The new presence belonged to his niece Ayana. Mihr backed from her charge, allowing him the space he would need, or at least, desire when meeting with his niece. It must have been long since he had last seen her, but that did not mean she could trust Lucian to be so distracted by his niece that he would not try to escape Mihr’s sight.

The angel assessed the room they were currently in, trying to be polite enough to distract herself form the conversation the two were having, but it was difficult. Why couldn’t Lucian act this way always? He would be so pacified with the presence of this female that he would not need to indulge the disgusting habits he had. He would not need to bathe in blood, or hear screams from the mouths of those he drank from. He would not need to continue to inflict pain. He could find another way. She sighed gently, fidgeting gently with the material of her clothing. It felt strange against her skin, even after she had become accustomed to wearing earthly garments, some materials still rubbed against her delicate skin awkwardly. At least her boots were supple and offered her no problems. She would be able to move quickly had she the need. Watching, waiting, she wondered why she cared so much about this man to be with him always, when she could simply have looked on, or watched his movements from afar. It was silly that she be ever present, so why was she? She couldn’t understand why, she just knew that she must always be with this man. A second that she didn’t watch was a second he could go indulge his habits. She would not let that happen.

Kei
The Guardian - Werewolf
︵︶︵︶︵︶︵︶︵︶︵︶

When the door opened and an angry Koharu walked in, it startled Kei. He immediately backed away when he was yelled at, allowing Koharu to take Ayana into another room. It wasn’t like he was going to do anything to her, not that he could. He was left alone, until he was called into the room they were in. He transformed back before he entered. Kei was ready for his first beating in over 800 years, but was a bit surprised when he was asked to be their escort instead. “Yes, Your Highness,” he said and bowed, obediently.

Kei let out a quick sigh as Koharu decided to go in to town, and then Ayana took off afterwards. He blushed when she smiled and bowed at him though. Kei, now had to choose between disobeying orders and follow the princess, or risk having his a** kicked by both of the prince's. He quickly resolved his qualms and headed out the door.

Kei silently started to follow the princess, disappearing into the shadows every once in a while just to make sure she didn’t see him. He didn’t want her to know he was following her. Over the years, he has learned how to mask his wolf scent for when he needed to be stealthy. He watched as she was stopped a few feet into the forest, but the scent of the man was very familiar to him. It was Lucian. Kei came out and stood behind Ayana, "Lord Lucian, it's an honor to see you again after so many years have past," he said as he bowed his head.

xxº• The demon stared wickedly out into the darkness, yellow eyes piercing through the dark shadows and the hell beyond. It held her not as a victim of fear, of mystery, or certainly not remorse. Her gloved hand trailed along the cold marble of the banister, as she slid gracefully along the open windows that revealed all below her. A grin played on her pale lips, hinting perhaps a sinister motive but it was never anything of the sort. Predictability was her strength, as was her ability to astound and confuse. She leaned against the banister, right leg protruded and the other tucked against the wall as she gazed out, a number of things were happening at once. An extra to their little play she was, but she played an important part in the tragic little fiasco. She saw everything. She knew what was happening at all times, after all it was her job to protect, not to prevent. She grinned, her pearly white fangs visible over the cape of her mouth. She brushed a strand of white hair from her shoulder, and with a calm and stoic expression stared out below, head tilted slightly to give her that perfect mixture of innocence and broken perfection of a porcelain doll.

Ahhh, it was no secret the other kingdom already knew they were awakened, the word was bound to spread eventually. Especially since a princess from the Moreau met with Koharu, it was only a matter of time before that plague spread - only to ravage everything in it's path in the process. That much was inevitable. It was painful how oblivious the young monarch were to the dangerous and treacherous Moreaus, but after all it wasn't her job to keep them up to date. It was her job to snap the neck of the first undead to lay a hand on the pair. Of course, there was also Cain. However he hadn't surfaced in a very long time, he wouldn't be her concern until he came back. She was aware Ayana had left the castle, her scent no longer lingered in the dense night air. Same for Koharu. She couldn't control their actions, nor did she intend to. They could usually clean up their messes, but that wasn't what she was there for. There were other scents in the vicinity, ones someone as sophisticated as her could easily detect. Her amber eyes easily penetrated the darkness, as she watched a pair intently in the distance. She knew who they were. They were waiting. However, so was she.

Even so, it wasn't her concern now. Much was going on and quite frankly it wasn't a threat yet. She smirked. It was ridiculous how much she followed and disobeyed rules at the same time. Most things she did were for pure pleasure, or entertainment. As reliable as she was and loyal to the young vampires, she liked to have her fun. Kei had also just left, that much was obvious, his dedicated was much greater than hers but that didn't mean he cared anymore for them than she did. They had their own respective jobs, something they were both aware of. The forest was quite a distance a way, but she knew that's where they were. Kei, Ayana, and another scent that was vaguely familiar... She sighed, and stretched out her neck with a languid motion. Kei would be taking care of things, so as of now she had nothing to do. She was very aware of the "visitors" in their land. She didn't intend to confront their visitors, nor did she intend to follow Kei into the forest. She pursed her lips, and after a moment of delirious contemplation and eerie silence, she clicked her tongue. Instead she turned sharply, walked down the hall, and entered the small marble study she loved so much. She walked towards the thick, wooden bookshelves that were crooked with age but dripping with knowledge and stories to tell... Literally. With a languid finger, she swept her index finger over the bind of a rust colored book, one as old as she but unfortunately more wore out. She pulled it out and sat in the large, plush Victorian chair in the center of the room. She tucked her feet up, crossed her legs, and began to read with her hand resting against her cheek. •º

Raven De Moreau; King of the Moreau Faction

((Aye, matey! Post be just ahead!))

Raven chuckled, darkly. "I see you finally decided to move around again. I was about to go hunt down for you....." He smiled, striding over to her quickly, grabbing her shoulder with a harsh vicegrip. "Remember the order. If you DARE try and do ANYTHING-" He grimaced at her, golden eyes piercing through her, "- not ordered, I'll cut you loose. In ANY way you think that means." He smiled quickly, "How was their company?" He let go of her, rolling his arm. "I mean, saying how it will be YOUR kingdom soon." He emphasized the our part of the word with almost childish glee. His innocence sat there, in that blackened pit of a soul, somewhere. He paced to her side again, rapid firing words at her. "Very well. It's about time they woke up. Assaulting a castle with sleeping victims is rather.... a let down."

He grinned viciously, dusting his shoulder. The leather strap belts across the back of his jacket's coattails wrinkling with the sound of fabric cutting through the tension between parent and offspring. "You remind me so much of Veronique...." He mooned over her, leaning on her shoulder with false admiration. "It was almost like this.... except you know. Not planning on killing everyone in the end." He whispered hoarsely, jumping from her shoulder to his pillar seat.

"The show's gonna begin soon, my dearest! The king and queen need their princess to play in this game of chess, and you fill the spot to a pinpoint!" He pinched her cheek chastely, letting go off her and looking rather pleased. "Have fun~" He combed his hair, and glaring at the wall behind Seriah's head.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxx When he spoke, walking over to her, she stayed silent up until he grabbed her. She tried not to show pain from his grip as he reminded her of his orders, her free hand going to his grip to try and loosen it, but he only tightened it, threatening her. Then he let her go and she glared at him as he asked his question and then made it known that he intended her to still marry for his reasons. But as much as she hated his plans and hated this part about him... she still loved him, her father protected her and she owed him her life, but that would not include the lives of her friends. She'd deny him that. "Father..." she started until he started pacing and speaking again.

Then he soon left, his pinch to her cheek very familiar as he parted ways with her. One thing she knew for sure... she would never harm Koharu or the others. By the time he'd realize it... he wouldn't be able to do anything about it. "Father, why did you make a plan like this? Why do you want to hurt them so badly?" she asked after a minute.

Feel free to go on without me if you need to and i'll be sure to incorporate my post to whats going on some way or another. I'm terribly sorry about the sudden turn of events, but I will get back to you all.

((Cake. Sorry to hear your aunt passed on to a better place, Caz. Feel better soon.))

He sighed, hugging her from behind. "It's my fault for being an impudent b*****d." He growled at the fading memory returning to him. "They owe me MANY things, but land and bloodshed would suffice." He hissed. "You... you are only needed to make a quarrel. If it so plagues you, you can take two of them away with you, back to the castle. I need penance, dearest...." Raven glared, longingly and sadly at her. "Remember, dearest. I love you so much, even as this pit of darkness I've become, I love you and your mother, Veronique." He spat out remorsefully. "I'm sorry for being such a IDIOT, because if I picked my bets better, we could live peacefully. We could live as an alliance of vampire; a new margin of friendship amongst a sea of agony." His belts rustled, and he was biting back tears.

"Never forget." Raven wouldn't cry, not in front of his daughter, who looked up to him as a young vampiric female. Never would he become such a idle parent, nor a villain to her. He couldn't hurt her as bad as he would, unless he blotted out all of the light within him. Not a speck of light shall be found, so I can no longer feel pity for anyone, especially my daughter. I need her to hate me.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxx Frowning as he spoke, his arms holding her in a hug, his need for penance was already achieved... he turned her and reminded her what she already knew. She knew he and her mother loved her. "But Father, we still can. Koharu, Cain and Ayana were not responsible for whatever it is they did wrong to you. Their parents are. The entire clan was nearly wiped out.... they've suffered enough haven't they? There is no reason to hate them any more... we can still have the alliance... still have that friendship. Can't we? The marriage was arranged by their parents and you... you wanted to get back at the parents... not the children... Why make them suffer any more than they have?" she asked, trying to make him see what she saw. The need for violence and hatred was over... 800 years have already passed. She's grown up and no longer the person she was when the marriage was arranged. "If I marry into that family... I will be Matkovic too.... will you want to kill me then too? Especially when they will be our family... we don't kill family.... right?" she asked him clinging to his shirt, wanting him to give up on his plan.

They were all her friends... she couldn't possibly choose between the three of them to save two... She liked Koharu... a lot, and would love it if she married him... but only for the right reasons... She wanted to believe that she was born for a better reason than to ruin her friends lives even more. But she could never hate her family... she could hate what they did but never hate them.

((Derp derp. No information on my end.))

Raven glanced sidelong at his daughter. His perfect daughter, who's mind as so hellbent on belief that his revenge no longer belonged. "It was that b*****d son. Koharu. He killed something VERY dear to me. It was my sister in real life, or so I've come to learn. Prying his parents away from him is not enough, since it was not my hand. His kin must be my prize. Only then will I be satisfied." He hissed angrily.

Of course, most of this was fabrications to get her to listen. He just wanted all of the land, so none can deny him his rite to power amongst all. He turned, his golden glare uncaring as his slammed his hand into a wall, shattering the already half broken interior next to him. "It comes to my attention you seem to be passive of this. Of course, Koharu and the other you save will be alive, leaving the third to be my plaything." He chuckled, darkly. He felt the aura of hate and greed start coming off him invisibly, darkening him without changing colors. "I NEED the closure!"

--------------------------While Ayana was venturing through she woods she couldn't help but sense a familiar presence. Since she was still regaining her senses and power she felt somewhat weary but then realized it was her uncle. "Uncle Lucian!" she exclaimed happily while running over to him. Her Uncle, the brother of her deceased father, was a very sly man. There had been stories and even folklore about the girl in the red hood, and how a wolf had killed her. However, in reality it was actually her uncle who had devoured her. "It's been so long, uncle. It's a pleasure to see you again," she said while letting go and looking at him. Of course vampires never really aged, and the only thing they could really do was change their appearance in their hair or clothing. Her uncle looked positively the same and still the fierce warrior she knew him to be. He still looked like a sly vampire who could probably charm his way with the ladies, and he grinned a little at the thought...perhaps that was where Koharu got it from.

Ayana turned suddenly when she saw Kei and she smiled a little. It was quite sweet that he followed her to ensure her safety but of course if Koharu had heard of this he probably would've been upset. However, she knew she wouldn't mention a single word to him. "Kei, whose watching the kingdom?!" Ayana asked, a sense of panic in her voice as she rushed over to him. She immediately stopped worrying and then realized that perhaps Adelia was watching things over and making sure no one was stealing anything. She gave a sigh of relief then began her trek throughout the woods. She could hear Lucian and Kei behind her but there was another presence that she felt but could not point out. Perhaps it was just another animal, but the feeling was strange and something she really couldn't make out. 'Hmm...' she thought to herself curiously while looking around. Were there spies out in the woods? She was unaware of the secret plots against the Matkovics from the Moreau kingdom, but if there was a vampire she would have known. However, there were many types of creatures who roamed the woods and just like Adelia and Kei, there could have been nephilims or lycans who were venturing as well. "I'm going to find some food," she said to Lucian and Kei while taking off throughout the woods to find someone to feed off of. Ayana enjoyed the thrill of the hunt, although not the sadistic pleasures that pleased her family from when they lived.

While Ayana was in the woods, Koharu made his way to the town below to find someone to play with. When he reached the entrance to the town he saw how different it had changed throughout the years. Sure they expanded and changed their looks a lot more but the same shops from centuries ago still remained. He glanced at the bookstore and could take in the scent of the novels sitting on the bookshelves; he always loved a good book or two. He then wandered over to the cobbler and looked at the various shoes that were showcased behind the glass. He could already smell the leather that permeated throughout the shop and how he would go there to have his riding boots fixed up. There were so many memories in the town below that he never realized how much he loved it before until now.

As Koharu meandered to the other side of town his eyes fell upon the brothel. A smirk crossed his face as he stepped inside and was greeted by the head of it. A woman, in her late 20s or early 30s, raised a brow in curiosity at him since he wasn't a regular. He was shown the few women who worked there but of course none has piqued his interest as he had hoped. "I'll come back," he told the lady while walking back out. Right as he stood at the threshold he noticed a lovely young woman not too far from him but something about her gave it off. 'Another vampire?' he asked while making his way towards her. He honestly thought that the vampires in the kingdom were all killed, but throughout the many years there could have been others who came and settled in the kingdom. Also, there other neighboring kingdoms who visited often and she was perhaps one of them.

"Hello, miss," Koharu said politely while looking at her. He was still accustomed to the older ways and simply bowed down, took her hand and kissed the top of it. Although times were more advanced from the last he was awake, he was still using the customs from centuries ago. "Vampyr?" he asked while whispering in her ear. He smirked as he pulled away and looked at her, his dark red eyes glistening underneath the moonlight.

---------------------------------------------------------------- "Let me explore this wilderness..."
User Image

The moon was high up in the sky, casting its beautiful blanket of light over the darkness that covered the wilderness. In the highest regions of Croatia, in the snowy mountains of the Dinara and white covered forests was a young man, wandering around aimlessly. His violet colored hair was strewn across his face messily as the wind bit at him with it's violent gusts. As he made his trek through the snow he pushed his body against the wind, trying to make to the small town not too far from where he was. "Only a little...more..." the man mumbled while hugging at the beautiful cloak that covered his body. The elegant furs and beautiful stitching could've only meant that he was of some type of importance or royalty, and it could've confused many as to why someone like him was walking around the wilderness alone.

The town hidden on the side of the mountain was barely visible as he made his way but eventually saw the sign for the local tavern. As he entered the few people inside took a good look at him, wondering who the mysterious man could've been. Of course not many outsiders visited the small town, so while he entered and was given a warm drink, they simply gave him confused and curious stares.

As he took a seat he took in the scents of the various villagers around him, licking his lips as he heard the beating of their hearts. The pulsating made him clench his fist; the blood inside their bodies was screaming for him. However, he closed his eyes and took in a deep breath. "Did you hear that someone saw a light in the castle?" one of the villagers said drunkenly as they spoke with a few people nearby. The young man perked his head up and looked over, leaning over a little to listen to the conversation that the human was engaged in. "A light?" the other man asked. "Yeah, the light in the northeastern tower was lit and people said they saw smoke..." the first man spoke. "Do you think they're back?" another man asked the first two. "It's only children's folklore," the first man said while taking a sip of his ale.

The young man got up from his seat, walking back out into the cold and slamming the door behind him. 'Are they alive...?' he thought while bracing himself against the cold winds and snowflakes that blinded his vision. It had been a little over 500 years since the incident at the castle. Luckily for him, he had been able to avoid such a demise since he was out traveling the world at the time. He remembered relaxing in a small secluded area just outside of Paris when he heard the news from a messenger who had seen what had happened. He frowned as he thought of his older brother and his younger sister who were possibly killed, but of course there was no evidence. In fear of his life, he young man had avoided going to the castle for the past few centuries since he knew he wouldn't have been able to stay there with a peaceful mind.

The young prince, Cain Matkovic, was finally headed home after 500 years.

As Anneliese continued to look around she felt the presence of another vampire but payed it no mind for now. That was until she was graciously approached by a male who had little to no problem introducing himself to her. She rose a brow to him, a bit surprised by how he acted since the times have changed but since this was the Matkovic kingdom and she had heard about what happened to them she could only assume that he was one of the princes and had not yet grown accustomed to this more recent time.

"Why hello there and yes I'm a Vampyr and you're...somewhat charming" she said before pulling her hand away from him. She could already tell that this particular vampire was a piece of work but of course he was nothing that she couldn't deal with...so she thought anyway. "I am Anneliese Jovanic, princess of the Jovanic clan and I can guess you're the prince of t his kingdom correct? I know my family is discreet..but I came here out of sheer curiosity" The young vampiress smiled showing off her pearly white fangs as her red eyes looked straight into his. It didn't take long for her to seem less interested in him and she suddenly smirked and began to walk past him.

"Now if you excuse me...kind sir..I was just in the middle of looking around trying to see more of this kingdom. I'm sure you have better things to do..as in feed? I could be wrong though but I refuse to be a further distraction" Her long red hair flew lightly due to the small breeze of the wind that passed by them while she was speaking. When it came to feeding she honestly had no room to talk since she was a bit hungry herself but she could contain herself for just as long as she needed. Besides she was doing just fine at the moment and was in no hurry to satisfy her appetite.

"Do you remember the story of Little Red Ridding Hood?"

Returning her hug, Lucian grinned, pleased she remembered him even after all this time. "I've missed you my dear. It's been so... quiet without you and your brothers. I came here just for you." he responded gingerly as he put her back on her feet. Then the wolf decided to show himself and greeted him, Lucian however only gave him a glance. Then he watched as his niece fretted over the fact that the wolf wasn't in his post and smirked.

He stayed behind with Kei for a moment as she went to hunt, then turning to the wolf, he smirked again. "Kei, was it? You can go back home now. My niece and I have some catching up to do. Be a good dog and listen to your orders." he mocked lightly with that mysterious grin of his before he followed after Ayana. He would make sure Ayana got her food, and he wasn't going to get in the way unless it would otherwise harm her.

"What do you feel like, my dear? There's all kinds of people in this town, perhaps I can help you by drawing away friends if you have someone in mind." he stated when he came to her side. He didn't really mind or care that Mihr was following them, she would be what and who she was no matter what he said, though he was slowly convincing her otherwise. But the other reason why he came was because he wanted to see how Ayana hunted and if she lost her game at all.

"A wolf didn't kill her... the one who did was me...the wolf just got the credit."

xxxxxxxxxxxxxx When he spoke, she was surprised, but only by the words he chose to say. It wasn't that the words surprised her, oh no, but it was his excuse to continue this vengeful hatred that had no place to go. He was blaming Koharu now was he.... would she be blamed next if she were to marry one of the sons? Or in this case, Koharu? Sighing, she lowered her head and closed her eyes to his unending hatred for them. He wanted her to marry into a family he hated, but what he didn't know, was that if she didn't chose, they would all live. She only nodded at his need for closure and bowed slightly before turning to walk away without a word.

Walking through the woods, she stared silently ahead of her. Her father was not going to be swayed. Not easily anyway. She shifted her violin to her other hand and a soft smile crossed her face as she lifted the hand Koharu kissed when he greeted her. Kissing the same spot for a moment, just like she used to do when no one else was around to see. It was her way of kissing him without actually doing it. She had never gotten the chance to either, but her feelings haven't weakened at all, perhaps hardened in her resolve to protect him and the rest from her family. She didn't want to think about her father and his plans. She only wanted to wish the best for Koharu and his family, they were all her friends.

It was soon after that she realized, she wasn't alone. A couple men had spotted her as she passed by the town while she headed home and followed her. Setting the violin, in the case of course, down, she turned to greet the followers with only a small smile, purposely luring them closer. When they were close enough, she place a hand on either side of one man's head, and then knocked them together, knocking them out. One, she drank from, but did not drain him completely, instead she healed the wound and let him live. Retrieving her violin, she went back on her way home.
