Ri's words touched Aquitaine deeply. "Thank you Ri." She said with a smile. "I think it would be great if you could help me out." Imagine that, she had not expected to run into another mutant today, let allow have them offer to help her out after sharing a bit of what she knew about the tunnel and the others affected by it. This just showed how amazing this world could be and how one could never know what wonderful things would happen on any given day. They continued to walk along, a small amount of silence falling between them that Aquitaine did not break. She figured Ri might have something else to say and she didn't want to interrupt that by saying anything.
The question was a big one. Was there a cure? And Aquitaine did not jump immediately to answer it. In her experience big questions like this one required thought before answering even if the individual answering it didn't know the answer. Still Aquitaine thought back though her knowledge of the tunnel and the mutants she had encountered thus far but there was no clue hidden within that told her whether there was a cure or not. "To be honest...I don't know if there is a cure. I have only see the end result of the tunnel, not the cause itself, and if there can be a cure, the only way to find out what it is would be to go to the tunnel, find out how it works, why it does what it does and how to undo it from there. But Ri, I have to tell you I don't know if what we have can be cured, prevented yes more than likely, but a cure seems almost impossible." She paused for only a moment before continuing. "I'm not saying we shouldn't look into it, but I don't want to get your hopes up over something that may not exist."
A cure for mutants, was it possible? Could the effects of the tunnel be reversed? And more importantly at what cost would that be done? For a long time she had wanted to be normal, to be like her parents but that wasn't going to happen so she learned to accept who and what she was and began to live a happy life. But what if a cure could be found? Aquitaine gave her head a bit of a shake. "And to be perfectly honest even if there was a cure...I wouldn't want to use it. I may not have always liked what I am, especially when I was younger, but this," she motioned to herself, "is what I am, who I am and now that I have accepted that I wouldn't change it. This is normal for me." She looked over at Ri. "But if other chose to use a cure, should it exist, I would not think badly of them for it. It is their choice in the end."

Risti had never really allowed herself to think too much about a cure. The question had always burned inside her, waiting to be asked, but she had never thought about what she would do if there was a cure. She thought about what Aquitaine said, wondering for the first time if she would get rid of her cracking body if she could. It made her different, it made her original...She supposed there were lots of curses that could be far worse. The fact that Aquitaine would not get rid of her dragon mane was reassuring to Risti. It made her realize that there was nothing she couldn't do if she learned to live with herself.
She smiled at Aquitaine gratefully. Although the two of them would not use a cure, she knew there were still others out there who needed help. There were still others who needed to learn to accept themselves. But she was tired from taveling, and the rushing of the water in the distance was making her thirsty. She would have to wait a little longer before pursuing her journey any further. "Aquitaine," she hated to ask, the mare had given her so much already, "do you know of a place I can rest?"

Aquitaine nodded. Ri did look weary and it would do the mare good to rest some. They could always talk more later, in fact she was certain they would be speaking plenty more. They had so much in common, including being the product of the tunnel, a desire to know more about it and then there was just that connection that she felt to the mare. "Of course Ri, my home is not far away, you can rest there for as long as needed." With an encouraging smile, she turned and led Ri back towards the beach.
