Her worries seemed to be trivial really, what with Megaera's casually given information. There didn't seem to be any annoyance in her responses to Maple's silent questions, given easily and even with a little pride with the way she snapped her fingers and held the fire in her fingers. (It was another instance where Maple wished she could do something as interesting as that). "Th-that m-makes sense," the witch nodded as she continued to follow carefully behind, "l-like the m-many d-different c-covens of w-witches." To at least put it in terms she understood. Because there were many types, and she was just one of few different types.
That smile though, did not go unnoticed as it disappeared from the other ghoul's lips. And the little witch feared she had tread into the types of responses she didn't want to hear, or the reactions that could come from them. She braced herself a little as she still kept up, but nothing too bad came. "N-no," Maple squeaked despite herself, "Sh-she was ac-actually v-very ... friendly," she wouldn't have gotten this far after all. Probably would have been still lost in the forest without Alecto's help. "and h-helpful..."
"I h-hope she's n-not too d-difficult with you," the ghoul found herself continuing, "she d-doesn't seem.. th-that b-bad..." and it trailed off into a little whisper.

“Yes,” she began, “many creatures of Halloween come from different iterations of the same ‘species.’ The humans just love to twist things up for their amusement or otherwise.”
“She’s stupid, that’s what she is,” Megaera answered in a low voice, ears flattened against her head as the library grew and grew in size the longer they strolled. “Friendly I can concur, helpful I cannot. She doesn’t have the intelligence to be very useful.” The ghoul scoffed, waving her hand offhandedly. “Less difficult and more annoying. I can always assert myself if she’s too stupid, but for one reason or another I let her take the wheel most of the time.” Megaera sighed. Maybe she shouldn’t…
“Anyways.” She stopped suddenly and pointed a claw toward the looming building up ahead. “That’s the library. You got that? Don’t get lost next time.”chirigami pardon the short tag /tear

Maple's gaze fell to the ground as she listened to Meg go on about her ... more simple personality (sister?). There were some hurtful words in there that were all too familiar, having had it directed at herself for some time and by a younger sibling no less (maybe sometimes the older ones, but her brothers had given up on being spiteful). She wondered if Alecto could hear them, kind of hoped she couldn't and dared not to ask; besides, maybe she didn't? Meg had inquired about the other's actions after all. So, she pursed her lips together and remained silent until the subject came to a swift change and their trek had come to a stop.
Thankfully, Maple managed to look back up in time before she collided with the taller ghoul. Her eyes followed to where Meg's hand was pointing and indicating, noting the location she had been trying to find in the first place. Okay, so she had been kind of off from where she was supposed to go but that was at least better than having actually been stupidly close without realizing. "O-oh," she stammered, taking a step forward on her own, "I'll t-try n-not t-to." Which came with a nervous little set of nods and another step. The little witch turned to her guide with a wry little smile, "Th-thank you f-for showing m-me where it is..." she hesitated for a moment before adding with a mumble, "b-both of you."
Her clasped together in front of her for a moment before poking at one another, "I... er, I th-think I c-can m-make it the r-rest of th-the way..." Probably the intention really, "Th-thank you.... again... um... m-maybe.. we'll s-see each other around...?" Always a possibility, maybe. Either way, before things fell into an awkward state, the little witch bowed her head slightly in a nervous sort of gesture along with a little wave and began to make her way towards her intended goal.
