Millie couldn't even defend the next attack as the hunter's weapon sliced through her shoulder.

She wasn't even going to bother attacking this time.

Against any law of common sense, the reaper unsummoned her weapon and continued a run.

Millie didn't stop running, but she turned to look at the hunter that called out a question.

The hunter had stopped. Millie wasn't sure who was more bonkers at that moment... her for taking away her only means of attack or the hunter that had just stopped because...

It was in this instant that Millie tripped over a log and fell flat on her face. Losing her entire train of thought, she looked around for the exit from where she was, but her head was pounding so loudly in her head it was hard to think straight.

Near the log was a small piece of leather. "Is this it?" Millie called.

Hopefully in the time it took for the hunter to come over and reclaim whatever it was, Millie could escape somehow... If her legs would only respond to her commands to get up...

Tag? .... Tag?

Millie blinked, perplexed.
How was this a game of tag? And what did she mean by... 'we'? Millie put a hand to her injured shoulder and pulled it off to examine it.

Yup. Still covered in blood. This hunter was clearly insane.

But thankfully preoccupied for the moment. Shaking, hurt and way more tired than she needed to be, Millie debated between trying to find an exit and finding this hunter's bag so she could hide it to give her more time.

Standing up or running more didn't sound appealing for the moment, so instead Millie opened up a small skull box on her belt to take a swig of a black swirling potion.

"Blech" Millie wrinkled her nose and stuck out her tongue. It tasted horrible. Millie stared at it debating on taking another swig or not. She certainly didn't want to waste it on something so silly as a run in with a crazy hunter, but it really did work wonders at numbing the pain she was in. If only it didn't taste horrible...

Millie gave the hunter a quizzical look for having somewhat of a worry for what a cookie could do to her after savagely attacking her only moments before.

"I think sugar is pretty universal..." Millie said wanting desperately for anything to get the taste out of her mouth.

Remembering her earlier blunder in Christmas town with the JOY candies and the icing snow, Millie turned somewhat pale. "On second thought.. maybe not." Christmas town was a different thing entirely, but what exactly would human food do?

Watching the hunter warily, Millie shifted her weight to a kneeling position. This would make it easier to run if whatever was in the bag ran out and the Hunter decided to spontaneously start up a new game of "tag".

Millie started pulling gauze pads and medical tape out of the box, placing the precious potion back in the small box.

As an afterthought, she tucked a pen in her waist belt so it was more readily available and relaxed a little more now that she had somewhat of a backup if she got into more trouble.

"Wouldn't you know better than me?" she asked as she started pulling off pieces of tape to put around the edge of the gauze.

Millie looked at the gauze she had just prepared, a bit dumbfounded. Putting it on her own shoulder would be a lot more difficult with her one hand than if someone else did it... so why not?

Millie offered Ofelia the gauze she had already prepared and began working on another one.

Millie laughed as a thought occurred to her. "Well, wouldn't that be easier if you did know? Just line the area with plates of cookies! They really do smell the same..."

Millie's lighthearted joke was defiantly funnier in her head... If Millie had thought about it for a few minutes, giving her enemy tips on how to poison them probably wasn't very funny at all. Millie was too preoccupied with the gauze though to even take that thought a bit further.

"It just seems kinda strange not to know about the thing you're fighting. Don't you guys have classes?"

"Not real?" Millie echoed quietly. Why did that sound so familiar? Millie tried wracking her brain for whatever it was the hunter's words reminded her of but it was like trying to remember the lyrics to a song you only heard once years ago.

There was something she was supposed to remember... something not real and something Millie felt was immensely important. Had she forgotten her father's death day?

Mindful of her company, now was probably one of the worst times to dwell on that nagging thought that bugged her. She could easily spent hours trying to figure it out and sitting next to a hunter who might not have that kind of patience was not at all a wise idea. Millie hoped she would remember it later and let the thought go begrudgingly.

Millie shivered at the thought of what might happen if all humans suddenly stopped believing and stopped being afraid of anything that scared them.

"I suppose that's the best way to keep anyone from being afraid of anything." Millie said sadly. "Though we don't want people dead. It's not good for us either."

Millie snickered at her apocalypse scenario and a sudden realization.
If every human did suddenly stop being afraid, everyone in Haloween town would be okay and thriving.
After all, Millie was sitting next to a member of a whole society who wouldn't forget them or let them go. Ever.

Millie stood up as she saw a familiar door in the distance. "Hey, I gotta go." She turned to the hunter and walked backwards, slowly at first and smiled. "Thanks for the game!" she called before breaking into a run towards the exit.

Millie hoped that was the better thing to say to someone who was supposed to be an enemy. Thanks for patching up someone you're supposed to kill on sight and having this nice chat. was probably tasteless and would be quick to rile the Hunter's anger, but Millie really did want to thank the hunter somehow.

After all, the hunter had given her a spark of interest in her studies at any rate.
