Oh-ow. Crap, that would actually bruise - at least it wasn't a cracked rib. It would be soon, if he kept taking hits like this. He was right about getting her muscle memory back - his ribs, back, and legs were feeling it.
This was the disadvantage of being a gun wielder; once someone was up close they had the best of you. All you could do was try to shoot them in a vital area and get them to back off, or at least keep firing.
"You're not too shabby yourself, you know." He panted, cracking a smile.
He kept firing at her feet, hoping to trip her somehow. He just needed to get some space, a little bit of room. Regal was ready to perform.

Ami was getting frustrated with their little cat and mouse game (especially since Junpei was making loud OOOOOOOOOOOOOOHs in her head), so she just stuck the staff together and batted him across the small patch of land they'd been sparring on.

Lex grunted, observing the grey sky in his spread eagle position. He could already feel the skin around his ribs inflaming and swelling - that wasn't going to be pretty. Luckily, Regal liked to keep his toys in good condition, meaning it'd heal in a day at most.
"Glad...to see he's back. What's your weapons name; I don't think you've ever told me."

She was already kneeling down beside him, desummoning Junpei to hairclip form again. The black and yellow clip sat on her head, where it always did. It was almost strange to feel the weight of it on her head again, yet familiar at the same time.
Junpei do it, she commanded.
< Uh you ... kinda desummoned me. Sorta can't now. I was feeling all juiced up and its just gone. >
Ami blinked, feeling stupider than she had in a while. That was one of the basic rules. Duh. "Don't mov- Oh." Ami bit her lip and then went digging in his coat pockets. Lex's question was lost in Ami's panicked search. There were a handful of things, but most importantly what she was looking for- bandages. "Can you do them yourself, or do you need my help or ... s**t Lex I'm so sorry." Truthfully, she could've done the bandages herself.
But then Lex would look like a mummy.

Lex didn't even respond, too busy trying to keep his smile on for Ami. "No, it's fine hon, really. I'll be okay - bandages aren't necessary, it's just a bruise. I'll be okay, I promise."
Grunting, he pushed himself up once Ami was out of the space above him, clutching his side. Okay...a bit of ice would do him good, but other than that, he would be fine. Nothing permanently damaged.
"So, who am I to thank for knocking me around in such a way? I don't even know if your weapon's a boy, but I keep referring to it as 'him.'" He smiled, walking slowly towards the kitchens area. "I need to ice this thing..."

Let's straighten some things out. Ami was rude, judgmental and even more rude. With a bit of b***h on the side.
But she wasn't about to watch an obviously injured man stumble off to die in some corner. Especially not when it was her fault. She wasn't heartless. She slid forward, slipping an arm around his waist and using her shoulder for him to lean on. "Junpei," she said calmly, segueing into the conversation casually, trying not to freak out at the close proximity to a person.
"He's a ningyo. Monkeyfish."

Lex was, to be fair, surprised that Ami actually came to help him out. He knew she wasn't a complete ice queen, but he figured she would go and read to celebrate her first victory having Junepi - which was a nice name, actually - back. So when he felt her tiny body helping to support his broader and much taller one, a genuine smile spread across his face.
"Well, I'm glad to meet him as well. He's got quite the sucker punch." The man chuckled, coughing immediately after. Right - bruised rib; any pressure from his lungs was going to suck.
"You don't mind stopping by the kitchens? I need some ice..."

Junpei dawdled on and on in Ami's mind, which she tried to ignore. "Of course," she said, at the request for the kitchen. It occurred to her that once she finished moving everything out, she'd have her own kitchen. A real kitchen.
She walked somewhat silently, not finding much to say, and instead being her quiet self. Instead there was an internal dialogue.
Jumpy, I don't like him in the way you're stipulating.

"Not too terrible, really. Nothing cracked or punctured as far as I can tell." Lex replied, smiling as they neared the kitchens, where he hobbled over to a counter, grabbed a washcloth that he filed with ice, and came back to Ami.
"You know how to get to my dorm - take the lead." He smiled, well aware that she had to lead, or else he would practically be dragging the small woman. It was a funny sight, truly; a 5'2 woman supporting a 6'4 man, who could probably fit both his hands around her waist. The comedy of life never seemed to end.
"So...if you don't mind my prying, what brought Junpei back to you? His clip looks good in your hair, by the way."

Ami let out a little sigh of relief that he didn't seem grievously injured, but it didn't stop her from being wound up. This sort of thing stressed her out, and she wasn't suited for it at all. She was a labs lifer, tried and true.
She nodded and began walking with him towards his dorm. "I don't really know," she admitted. "During my promotion ... it was sort of like a dream, but I found a way to summon him in the dream. When I woke up he was just there." Ami looked deep in thought, mulling it over for herself.
"That probably sounds a bit insane doesn't it..." Dream promotions and dream missions. "Dream missions and what not."

"Hmm...very odd, indeed. Not insane, though." Lex smiled, chuckling at a minimal level. "With the things we see on a day to day basis, I can't quite call anything insane anymore."
Well...okay, there were a few things. Like fighting against a fully ranked Hunter, even if she'd only just recovered her weapon. Or, well...doing what he did with Ofelia.
The thought of his other self - the fragment - having done something even farther, though... He wanted to die, just a little. She was a sweet girl and all, but he liked filet mingon, not meatloaf.
Once they'd made it to his dorm, Lex got himself to his closet, pulling off his coat and shirt and pulling out a simple white tee and some bandages to hold his homemade icepack in place. He'd been shirtless in front of Ami before, she wouldn't mind, hopefully.
"So, you're a Hunter now - are you going to move on to one of the nicer rooms, or take a house in the village?"

Did he need help? No, but help would make this process easier. He didn't have three hands, thank God. That wouldn't be very attractive at all.
"If you could hold the icepack in place while I wrap these bandages over it, that would be great." He indicated the hit rib, handing her the cloth with the ice in it.

The virtues of silence in her head suddenly knew no bounds. Junpei was being completely childish about this. All he was doing was asking for a helping hand with the bandages- that was simple enough. Maybe if Lex was a perverted creep he was trying to get her to touch him, but Ami didn't think so. Lex didn't seem like the type who would randomly stick his hands in her hair just pervertedly ask for girls to touch him.
"Can do~" she chimed, taking the ice pack from his hands and holding it against his clearly bruised ribs. Ouch. Part of her was actually quite proud of that bruise, but mostly she was guilt-ridden. Mostly.

Truthfully, Lex was being virtuous about this whole ordeal. He wasn't getting Ami to touch him, he was digging at Regal as he always did when the Gryphon showed a c***k in the armor. Eye for an eye, and all that.
Unraveling the roll of bandages, the Life trainee gingerly laid down the first layer, and the second layer was done with just as much finesse. "You can slip your hand out now." He told her, flashing a little grin. Not that he minded
When she removed her hand, he threw the shirt on, laughing at the awkward lump caused by the gigged icepack. It would do.
"Well, boo on Marcus. He's a bit of a sourpuss anyway, so don't mind his opinions." He smirked, obviously fond of the Moon Hunter. "Will Kat be moving with you, or is she taking your room?"
