It seems my missing daughter Euphrosyne returned, and she agreed to dance as well, to reacquaint herself with things since she's been gone so long.
I'm not sure where she went, but those glowing purple eyes don't seem normal.
So we have an extra couple in the contest!

And there you have it folks! Our twelve dancing couples vying for the title of the first Dancing with the Erotes dance contest and the honor to be King and Queen at the Valentine's Day Ball!
Along with myself, Artemis, Tonantzin, and Poohead Psyche will be judging the contestants on their skill, technique and how adorable they are.

Aglaia had finally let her mother finish the pairings and she got up and looked around at those who had decided to take part and looked for Ahi? Who she was meant to dance with and sighed, not wanting to be here but she wasn't about to upset her mother so she straightened out the floor length pink sequined dress she was wearing, picked up a compact and made sure her hair was alright before placing it back on the table and wondered just who this Ahi Pae was as she walked over to the mortals who had arrived. "Excuse me" she spoke up to the others hanging around, could I please have a Mr Ahi come forward?" She asked sweetly, smiling at them, hoping the other would be alright with her er...dancing, she hadn't danced in a while so she hoped she still remembered exactly what to do and how to do it and everything else, she didn't want to embarrass her poor partner.

Lookit all the pretty Pae! It was like...Christmas! Only not. Bah, not the point. The point was, one Erote at least was planning to enjoy himself.
Himeros straightened his tie, trying to ignore the mild strangling sensation. He always thought these things were so restrictive, but...Mother had insisted. So, bow ties for everyone.
Having heard the announcement, he looked over the group of gathered Pae. Mother had insisted on male/female pairs, so he knew to look amongst the women. 'Lemon Hearts', hmm? Interesting name. Rather descriptive...in an abstract sort of way. The shocking combination of blue and bright yellow caught his eye and he thought, '...or perhaps not so abstract afterall.' Lemons were yellow, and...were those hearts on her hip? Heh...he preferred his kisses, but those were nice too.
Crossing to the brightly-colored Fauny, he dropped into a low, sweeping bow before her. "My dear lady," he crooned gallantly, smiling up at her with eyes as blue as the depths of the ocean. "I do believe we shall be dancing together. Truly, the Fates have smiled upon me."

Pelagious had just finished his costume on time. He had had to replace his replace magic apples cause they were, well...rotted. In their place he had sewn in two grapefuit. He liked their soft malleability anyway. Who wanted rocked rock hard boobs?
Adjusting his dress, he thought he looked pretty nice tonight. He had found a large dress made of black sequins that he had cut up and resown into a tight fitting, floorlength halterdress. The bottom was a ruffled combination red lace, black sequined silk, and leggy goodneess. He had cut a few slits out of the sides to show off his gorgeous washboard stomach and the little heart design in his coloring. He had even managed to find some real red roses and had sown them across the front and down around his butt in a small, defined twist of a pattern.
His hair had taken the longest. He had let it down, and with great care, had straightened it so that it hung around his face in a sleek and shiney hairdo. He had even fastened a couple of roses into the white downdo, just for kicks.
He had chosen not wear heels since the last adventure hadn't gone so well. In their place were black slippers, made of the same material as his dress. To say that he was happy with his clothing choice was an understatement.
However, his goddess dance partner was a different story. He didn't really know all the erotes but something told him that this particular erote could kick his a** and make him feel good about it. Maybe it was best if he pretended to be a woman. You can't kick a woman's butt and still be held in high favor with gods.
At least that's what he hoped as walked over and gave the beautiful green erote his hand.

The Fae seemed to have a disconnected air about him, as if watching events from far away. He wasn't truly involved, only watching as actions unfolded, and...
Wait, no. That's right, he really was here. Apparently, the stars had decided that this was where he was meant to be, at least for this evening, so here he was, scheduled to dance with a deity. To move as one, like celestial beings across the night sky, in the dance of the universe...
Shaking his head, he seemed to tune back in at hearing his name called. Thalia? What a beautiful name. So...rhythmic. He looked about, searching for someone who fit the vocal cadence as well as he would imagine one would. He noticed a woman in blue with hair curled and piled loosely at the back of her head. "Thalia...Thalia?" He tried the name a couple times while looking at her, then decided that it indeed fit the Pae that he was looking at. He moved towards her, slipping through the crowd without touching any of the other Pae'il. Upon reaching her, the semi-transparent Fae inclined his head politely, asking, "Miss Thalia, I presume? If I am incorrect, I apologize; you seem to fit the name so well."

Standing among so many creatures she didn't know was daunting for Lemon Hearts. She'd only barely arrived on this island when invitations went out to all denizens. Only a few of her fellow faunies answered, so she looked around in hopes of seeing someone she knew that she could socialize with when she heard the host of this shindig call her name.
"Himeros and Lemon Hearts!"
Quickly, her eyes started darting around, looking at the small crowd of bow-tied, angel-winged Pae'il. Which one is Himer--
She giggled at his pageantry, flattered by his charm. She smiled and offered her hand. Following Himeros' lead, Lemon Hearts put one hand on his waist and another in his left hand and before they music started, she quickly introduced herself before the music started. "I'm Lemon Hearts, it's nice to meet you."
The music started and it became obvious that the first dance was a waltz. Thankfully something she knew. She inhaled deeply and let Himeros lead her around the dance floor.

The male looked up from where he sat behind the crowd, he wasn't dressed up quite so fancy as the woman in fact all he had was bow tie and pink t-shirt for the occasion and that was about it. He had been playing with a stone he'd brought with him from the bottom of his little lagoon he had been thinking about the small treasure he'd turn it into when he went home. He didn't even know what he was being called for exactly. He thought he had put his name in a box for a prize, Ahi was completely addicted to treasure.
"What's a misterrrr?" he called back to her hearing his name, though he looked like an adult the firey Pae spoke in a childish manner. He crawled through the crowd, moving between the Pae that mingled or even between the legs of some. When he reached the edge of the crowd in front of Aglaia he stood up... When he stood up he bounced a bit on the balls of the feet he had, the change from fin to feet always made him a little giddy. "I is Ahi" he waves in the selfsame childish manner he always had((I don't know who's legs he crawled between but anyone is welcome to act on it XD ))

Standing among his brothers and sisters, Anteros fidgeted nervously. He was not born yesterday, he knew this whole dance was a set-up. What he didn't know was why. Did mother want grandchildren? Why set us all up? He tried to not think about it too much, but he was too anxious to ignore it. He tugged on his bow tie, making sure it was secure. It was odd they all had to wear these silly things, but mother insisted so like the good boy he is, he obeyed without question.
He wouldn't admit it to anypae else, but he was hoping for a real love match and that was really Venus' plan. He prayed to her that the arrows really were hidden behind lock and key for this contest. No more repeats of what happened last year. He still hadn't tracked down all those poor Pae who ended up in loveless marriages.
Venus started calling couples, so Anteros did one last check to make sure his beautiful feathered butterfly wings shined in the light and then one last application of hair gel to make sure his curly black hair stayed in place. Wouldn't do to have a Pothos!hair situation in the middle of the dance floor.
"Anteros and Yukiko!"
Glee filled Anteros as he scanned the gathered pae looking for his dance partner. When she came forward, he dropped to one knee, bowed his head and kissed her hand. "My lovely Yukiko, it will be my pleasure to dance with you."
He held his hand out, offering to lead her as his brother had led his partner to the dance floor.

Yukiko stood on the sidelines, mostly behind everyone else. Logically, she knew every female here had a fair shot at dancing with one of Venus' beautiful sons, but she'd never won a thing in her life yet so why should her luck change now? She smiled as she watched the first couple take the floor, and then very nearly missed her own name being called! With a blink, her eyes widened as it sunk in a second later and she stepped through the crowd toward her partner for the dance. He knelt before her and kissed her hand, causing her to blush deeply and giggle just a little nervously. She did, of course, know how to dance, the question was could she keep her nerves in check long enough to not step on his poor toes?
"The p-pleasure is mine," she responded with a small curtsy. She wasn't quite sure how one should act in the presence of an Erote, but she assumed a curtsy and politeness would not go amiss. Taking the offered hand, Yukiko let him lead her to the dance floor.
She was quite glad she'd decided on a gown that was ankle-length instead of floor-length; no excess material to trip over! The blue satin hugged her curves and the sparkling netting laying above it looked like it had snowed on her before she came to the dance. Her silvery hair had been put up into a curly sort of bun at the back of her head with a white rose fastened to one side. The snowy Pae was rather pleased with how her outfit and hair had turned out for the dance.
Once on the dance floor, she lightly lay one hand on Anteros' hip and left the other in his hand, waiting for the music to begin so she could take his lead.
