"Pretty great, huh?" the inu chuckled as he gazed at the nostalgic place. "I grew up here before I - What?" He nearly choked on air when he heard her. "You want to go home? To that desert town? Seriously?"

"I miss my parents, and Jenna, and I haven't even gone to college yet! Tot- I mean, Trenton, I...I don't belong here. I belong back in Kansas," she said somewhat firmly. Dorothy set a hand on his chest and walked past him to the door. "I have to find my way home, even if it takes until I'm old and middle-aged." Stopping, she turned back to him and set her hands on her hips that had been bared by the long distance between the end of the shirt that hit just above her belly button and her shorts that started just at her hips. "Do you know anyone here who can help?"

"It's not as easy as that, princess!" Trenton snapped until she set a hand on his chest. He pursed his lips and felt his heartbeat strengthen for a second, but shrugged it off when she walked away. What a weird feeling. He looked back at her and thought about who could help. It's not like he wanted her here anyway, so they'd both be helping each other out by sending her back to that God-forsaken place. "Well.... It's been a while, but I remember a wizard in the capital here." he murmured while scratching his chin. "And there's always Glenda..."

Dorothy nodded at the name Glenda, instantly wanting the meet the person with the strange name. "I'm not really a witch person, so let's try Glenda," she reasoned out loud, smiling at him. Suddenly, she raised an eyebrow, the smile fading a bit. Dorothy walked closer to him, her hands raising to touch his shirt. "This thing is disgusting and ripped. We should get you a new one. Actually, a new outfit altogether. And one for me too. You think the people of...what did you call it, Oz? Anyway, do the people of Oz accept credit?"

Trying very hard to keep from blushing, Trenton placed his large hands over hers and lowered hers from his shirt. "They don't even know what credit is." he said with furrowed eyebrows. "They have a traditional market. You trade instead of using currency."

"Trade? But I have nothing to give except the clothes on my back and I am NOT walking around in my bra and panties!" protested Dorothy, barely noticing that he was basically holding her hands. "Maybe we should go and check out our surroundings. After we get the feel of things, then we can come back and collect what they might want and, with that, buy you and I some new clothes! How does that sound?" Throughout all of this, she was pulling him towards her as she walked backwards towards the door. She didn't even see the wood that was jutting out, and so tripped and fell towards the ground.

"No, see - Would you listen to - Shut up-!" Trenton's ears flattened more and more as Dorothy nagged on and on about, big surprise, clothing. He couldn't get a word in edgewise! He was just about to snap at her when she tripped on the wood and nearly came tumbling down. Acting swiftly, Trenton moved one arm around her waist and jutted a leg out, catching her in mid-dip. "Careful!" he snapped and narrowed his eyes at her as his white hair fell over his face.

Dorothy's wide brown eyes stared into his, her mouth shut tight and her hands clutching his shirt to her in an attempt to not fall. At this position, Trenton almost looked...well, gorgeous. It was no wonder he was happy to be mostly human again. He was almost too good-looking to even- Wait. No. No, this guy is a dog, and bestiality is illegal! Her teeth bit on her cushioned bottom lip for a moment, before she whispered to him. "Sorry..."

Trenton hesitated then stood her back up straight, his arms falling to his side. "Just watch where you're going from now on." he said coldly before walking towards the doorway. His ears flattened and his eyes squinted when the bright sunlight struck him by surprise, having been inside the house for too long. It took a while for him to adjust, but he was more than happy to deal with the slight discomfort. Oz was still how he remember, joyful and almost fairy tale-like. The plants were brighter and in bigger numbers since technology held little rule over them, or at least in Munchkin Country, the animals and people got along, the air was cleaner.

She walked out beside him, stepping outside and biting her lip. This place, this Oz, was truly beautiful. It was almost enough to make her cry. But still, she missed home. With a sigh, Dorothy pulled her jacket off and tossed it into the backpack, slinging the straps back on and turning to him, the sun shining behind her and illuminating her outline. "Come on, we gotta find this Glenda chick so I can get home."

"Calm down." Trenton snapped while walking out the door. It still took him some time to get used to walking normally, there were times that he was tempted to get back down on all fours. "Wait here." he told Dorothy before venturing out outside the house. He thought of things he could scavenge, things he was sure could be used for trade in the markets. The sound of stepping over the dirt and grass of Oz tickled his furry ears, which twitch at each chirp of a bird he hadn't heard in a long time. He was so lost in the nostalgia that he nearly missed the two shining bits of red near the house. Its glitters caught his sight and made him stop. Was that...? Eyes growing slightly wide, Trenton got closer and felt his jaw drop when he saw what it was. Ruby slippers. And the Wicked Witch of the East was wearing them... from beneath the house. A laugh of disbelief escaped the inu. Of all places to land, he landed on one of the witches! What a great day!

Hearing his laugh, Dorothy, too curious for her own good, peered around the house. "What's so funny?" she asked, walking over to him. Seeing his eyes direction, she looked down and gasped. "Oh my God...Trenton, we squished a person!!"

"And of all people too, eh?" Trenton smiled, contradicting her own feelings. He looked back over at the protruding legs from beneath the house and poked them with his feet, his tail wagging happily. "This is, or was, the Wicked Witch of the East. Don't worry about her, she was a bit_h." he shrugged, continuing to poke her legs. "She was one of the ones who turned me into that stupid dog, anyway."

"Hey! That 'stupid dog' was my best friend. Watch it." Kneeling down, Dorothy poked the shoes, then bit her lip as the ruby sparkled in her eyes. "God, think of all the supplies we could get with those shoes. You think she'll mind if we borrow them for a while?"

"Oh yeah, she won't be doing anything... forever." the inu commented as he gave the legs one last tap, ignoring the best friend comment. There was something about the ruby slippers... He couldn't quite put a finger on it since it had been such a long time, but something about them set him on edge.
