It was a dangerous place he was in, and regardless of any chance he might find some more, Jason knew it was time he sought his escape. There was no telling what would happen if he lingered, and he had no desire to get any closer to that Pod... Finding the edge of the Valley, he scrambled upwards and made his way towards safety. Deciding that rest was enough for now, Etzer stood and brushed himself off, feeling as fresh as he did upon first entering the fields.
He would try again.
Jumping randomly to another square had been a bad idea. The ice mage found himself squelched up to the waist, and he froze in place as he felt something scrape the bottom of his shoe.
And then something bit into his side. He cried out, anger leeching into his voice before he leapt to another spot, his fingers twitching vehemently.

As he crouched to leap to another square, Etzer froze as soon as he heard his name.
"Etzer..."
He jerked his head up, frantic worry etched across his face. Who was calling him? It sounded like - no, it couldn't be...
It wasn't. It was different. Who did he think was calling him? He couldn't place it. He attempted to step back, his fingers darting up to run through his braid in a worried manner. This place was starting to get to him, and he didn't like it at all. It had been fine at first, but slowly and surely it was getting to him, ebbing away. Slowly and surely. Slowly and surely...
Stepping back to try to regain himself, the ice mage misplaced his step as he was unsure of where to go at this point, losing his balance. In his confusion, Etzer lost his footing and couldn't catch himself in time. He pitched forward, unable to see the protruding weapons in the ground until it was too late. His hands shot out instinctively to attempt to stop his plummeting, but it was of no use.
His end had come at the hands of fallen warriors before him.
Game Over.

Ligaya felt her heart leap into her throat at the sight before her, tears stinging her eyes as she recalled the beauty the Vale once had. That was all gone, just a memory now. This had really happened... and no one had seen it coming? Was that right? What sort of being was the Voice to create and give life -Miasma- and then be as quick to take it?
Angrily, the Silver Wild Card ventured forward and while she was careful with the vegetation, vines snagged and dug into her legs. Ligaya had not known what had hit her. One minute she was limping away from vicious thorny vines, the next she was swept up by some misformed creature that sent her into a panic. Had she only been armed with her shovel. she was certain to have broken free or at least fended off just enough of the damage to survive.

The Tiefling approached her destination, looking around to see if her fellow countrymen were in place. It was a bit silly for her to think she'd find any of them while coming here, the Valley was such a vast place it was statistically impossible to really remain at one another's sides, and so the demon-descendant merely glanced at everything before debating what to do.
Her mission was clear, she was here to gather Miasma and return it for the sake of her Kingdom. Along the way she'd need to look out for her Queen, sure, but seeing as Ofelia couldn't spot anyone she would just get down to business and totally enjoy this moment.

((Entering from Gold))Upon finding herself at the edge of the Miasma filled valley, Mei's nose twisted up just slightly. How horrible this place seemed. So dark and black. Thorny vines sticking up every which way and that. Thorns to tear at one's flesh and clothes. Pursing her lips, she had been directed here by her Emperor. The Voice had spoken. It was her job to collect the Miasma. And she would do so with pride. And quickness. Because she really didn't want to spend too much time in this place. At first nothing seemed out of the ordinary as the Champion of Green started through the area. She kept her gaze out for the fellows of her Kingdom, just in case something should happen and she needed to get moving, but that was about it. Strange things seemed to be lurking on the edge of her line of sight and nothing more.
Was that gas over there in strange colors? She recognized the green and sort of grinned for her, fanged teeth poking over her lip, and she moved in that direction just to get closer. As she went along Ofelia wasn't really aware she was gathering Miasma but rather she was having an adventure. As she moved furthur along, Mei had become increasingly aware of the feeling that she was being watched. And not by anything good. No. Nothing good at all. But that would not stop her. What would stop her though, only temporarily, would be the puddle she stepped in. Which wasn't that shallow of a puddle at all. How misleading. Faster than she could catch herself, Meixiang fell waist deep into the puddle. Splashing about, she flailed her arms above her head. Why was it that she always seemed to fall into nasty things? Her flailing had drawn the attention of something in the puddle as she felt something sticky wrap around her waist. Which only caused her to flail and kick more. The feel of a tongue on her ankles. A sharp bite to her side. "Ow!" Whatever it was seemed hungry and she really did not feel like being a snack today. For some reason the creature didn't seem to taken with her flavor and loosened it's grip. Giving her enough of a leeway to wiggle out of it's grasp and drag her half soaked body out onto the ground once more. She knelt there on hands and knees. Note to self. Avoid all puddles. Okay so maybe she should have been paying more attention. Ofelia's lack of regard for her surroundings nearly came to bite her in the face as she stopped looking where she was going. Her steps were about to carry her into danger when it felt like the hair on the back of her neck stood up and her tail suddenly grew a lot heavier.
There was something ahead and she knew it, even if she couldn't see it, and a thin drop of sweat ran itself over the scales on her back. The Tiefling quickly shook her head and turned away, putting herself on a different path. Little did she know what she avoided, not that she'd try and seek it out later, and so she clutched the little pouch AJ had given her and headed onward.

After the last little unwanted puddle dive, Meixiang had begun traversing the valley once more. As she rounded a strange looking rock formation, her head turned to the left. Was....someone calling her name? It sounded like it. But then it...didn't? She was wracked with confusion. Was someone she knew here or.... She took a tentative step towards the sound. Hearing it once more. Raising both eyebrows in curiosity. There it was again. Except now it was coming from a different direction. In haste, she swirled around to face the person only to stumble over her own foot. Or maybe it was a well placed root. What came next was a horrible feeling of pierced skin and unimaginable pain. A pain in which Meixiang had never felt before. Or at least pain that she could ever remember feeling. The end of a sword that had been sticking up from the ground pierced through her side. The sharp spikes of a mace ripped through her clothes. She found herself in a pile of randomly placed weapons and each was sharper than the last. Pointier. It felt as it time had slowed. She lingered for a moment more before darkness over took her and she dissipated on the spot. ((Exiting, dissipated awwww))

Having avoided almost certain death Ofelia was feeling pretty confident...until something grabbed at her ankles. They looked like vines yet felt like tentacles armed to the teeth with...teeth, and the Knight cursed loudly as she went ahead and tried to free herself. It took a lot more effort than she would have liked, one of her hands got pretty cut up in the process, and a thin hiss of unhappiness was the final result.
She'd managed to injure herself thus far and hadn't even seen anyone else. Maybe if she escaped quickly enough no one would ever know and Ofelia would have felt like a champion? Oh, there, it seemed to be something she needed. There looked to be a bit of raw Miasma in front of Ofelia and in an area that looked safe enough to approach. Her limp wasn't so bad that she couldn't get over and the Champion hustled with a bottle to try and gather what she could. This was all too very much important, ever little bit would help her Kingdom, and the Tiefling paused to wonder if she should try to go a little further or turn back and just carry her spoils with her.
If she was dead then nothing would get returned, but there was...always the chance she could bring back more Miasma right? Her step was really slow and nervous, Ofelia didn't want to do anything that could get her killed or covered in more teeth-vines, and so with an odd amount of caution for the normally reckless Tiefling she sort of backtracked her steps. It kept her away from the teeth-vines, and that strange scary feeling from before, and ended her up next to yet another Miasma vein.
She had enough for now, others would come through and hopefully do well, and so the little bit she had was bottled and placed close to her side. It was time to set up and leave and get back to her Kingdom. Surely the others were already there and she'd need not worry about their safety. Everyone was big girls, they could handle themselves.

While it could have entirely been considered cowardly for Ofelia to just leave like this...it was more or less because she felt like there wasn't anything for her to attack here. This place didn't suit a warrior Barbarian - this was a place for those who were light on their feet and could handle ambushes.
A six-foot Tiefling was not light on their feet nor was she capable of ambushes. That was why Ofelia headed towards the edge of the Valley, going ever so slow and ever so carefully, and she made it to the end without a problem. The Miasma she collected would be presented as soon as she returned and hopefully she'd get sent to a place that involved her punching more things next time.
Ofelia really enjoyed punching.
