Zelcion's brow wrinkled. His father thought he was thinking to rashly? Zelcion didn't like that, it almost sounded like his father wanted the birds to spy on them. He was considering lodging a protest when Xelloss continued. "Against her?" Zelcion raised a single eye brow, he was beginning to wonder if he'd been knocked one too many times in the head. "How would you suggest we do that?" His arrogance was beginning to slip into his words. Zelcion may have thought that Xelloss would be the best to handle these things but now his father was talking nonsense and that bothered him.

"Messages go both ways, don't they?" Xelloss shook his head at his son. "Really, I'm surprised you didn't think of it yourself." To Xelloss, it was the obvious plan. He had considered Zelcion to be his most intelligent child, but obviously he might have to readjust that opinion. He smirked at his son, but didn't rub it in more.
"We use her birds to send a message back to her. It shouldn't be too hard to compel their cooperation." They could threaten the soquili that Yseult was chasing, or threaten the birds themselves. They might even be able to bribe them, depending on the strength of character of the particular avians.
"Now, what sort of message should we send her?" Xelloss left the question hanging, inviting Zelcion to give his opinion. Xelloss already knew what he wanted to do but he was going to see if Zelcion could come up with it on his own.

"You think that will work?" Zelcion was skeptical. Surely the mare would have had enough sense to make sure the birds were a secure network. If she had the sense to use them wouldn't she have the sense to make sure no one else could?
As Xelloss continued on Zelcion began to catch what he was saying. His father wasn't expecting it to be easy, he was going to force them one way or another. That made sense. This could work. "Just tell her there's danger somewhere." Zelcion said without a second thought. This was as obvious to him as using the birds had been to Xelloss. "She'll run where we tell her and then we kill her."

"Exactly," crooned Xelloss. This was the perfect sort of project for his convalescence. He couldn't imagine that it would strain his injured wing just to destroy little Lorenna. He'd want to find his other children for this. Tythoss and Xellra would both benefit from seeing how an operation like this was run, and Xelloss expected he could make good use of them too.
"We'll send her a tidy message of danger... and danger is exactly what she'll find when she follows it." The game was afoot, and Xelloss planned to win.
