Richard hated losing, but he couldn't fault Aubrey for his defeat. After all, she wasn't the one that was dealt a crummy hand, and she wore a good poker face throughout the entire ordeal. Sure, he could have blamed his loss on the fact that he was more worried about getting a warm body in his bed than actually winning, and therefor the blame would completely lie with him. Or he could have simply blamed rotten luck.

But in the end, he had lost, and there was the rest of the night ahead of him to waste. He hadn't quite decided if he wanted to leave this casino in the dust forever or if he would be willing to return, shame faced and all, and he was pondering this as he waited for the valet to return with his car.

That was when he spotted the Lucky Lady's departure, and the way the breeze passed through her dress made all of his concerns dissipate. Perhaps if she was a regular here, he would come again, and the next time he'd bring the hurt to her wallet. He accepted his keys and handed the valet his tip, before trying to stealth his way into his Lexus and drive away with her noticing him.

"I'll be back, Lucky Lady," Richard said, knowing that he may have sounded like an '80's cartoon villain but not caring enough to try and stop the comparison from popping up in his mind. It wasn't a threat, but a promise. "Next time will be different... you can count on that."
