<<Apology accepted>> Callie replied with a nod of her head.

Before she continued, Zap, who had been uncharacteristically silent, chimed in, as he hopped into the ring made by his fellow Joltik, <<Yes! Apology accepted.>>

Then the rest of the Joltiks joined in, <<Apology accepted!>>

<<Honestly,>> Callie continued, after the interruption, <<I wasn’t quite sure. It was nearly equidistant from myself and several of my brethren.>>

Looking at the boy and then up at the hole, she inquired, <<Do you require assistance in exiting the tunnel? That is, if you intend to depart.>> It was quite a ways up, and she was unsure of his climbing ability. Webbing, though, could make things much easier.

Kenley glanced around the darkened room as one spoke, then a second, and before he knew it, they were all chattering up a storm again. While normally this may have unnerved the wurmple, it was a stark contrast to the jeering they were offering up for him earlier. It felt really strange, to actually have a sense of acceptance from so many; even one would have felt unrealistic. It was probably one of the few times that Kenley was actually speechless, and not out of reaction to anything negative. He gave a bit of a sheepish laugh, but other than that, he really didn't know how one was suppose to react, other than being, well... happy.

He snorted at the relay that his Poison Sting was rather off-track to any one individual. "Figures," he scoffed, "but at least it was a good thing that it missed, this time." He was still a bit wobbly, a combination of migraine onset and what the humans considered 'low HP,' but he was stubborn enough to ignore the effects for now. As much as he was reconsidering staying a bit longer, as the band of joltiks was starting to grow on him, he really didn't like the idea of his headache coming on full force while in their company. Nobody really knew about his affliction, and he preferred it to stay that way; he hated pity, and was too proud to ever ask for help. Well... at least not when it came to getting out of a place much too far up to reach. "I'd like some help getting back out, yes. Though, you guys... don't come up here all that often, isn't that what you said?" he asked. Argh, why was he bringing that up? Why was he always wishing someone he had met previously would come back, after the enemies he was sure to have accumulated? They must have had much better things to do, like go on with their lives... Kenley cringed, attempting to negate the question, "N-Nevermind, just forget I said that. I need some fresh air."

At his comment that he would need help, Calliope announced <<Joltiks! String shot!>>

In response, the swarm all launched string shots at the hole, en masse. It caused a wall of webbing to appear from the hole, to the ground. It would be sticky enough to aid someone ascending it, but not so sticky as to trap them.

Turning to the boy, Calli replied, <<We come up on occasion, though we do spend most of our time underground. Still, from time to time, we have been known to venture outside. A little fresh air can be nice>> Suddenly realizing that introductions would be proper, she added, <<Where are my manners. I am Calliope.>>

Zap exclaimed, <<And I am Zap!>>

The rest of the Joltiks then proceeded to introduce themselves in unison. Unfortunately, this made it so that no single name could be made out; instead it was a mass of noise.

<<As long as you enter in piece, feel free to return any time. Just don’t go to deep. Even I haven’t fully explored the tunnels down below.>>

At the mention of using String Shot, Kenley flinched, as though they may shoot him with it. Instead, he peeked out from tightly-shut eyelids at the makeshift ladder the group had produced, immediately loosening up to stare at such a clever tactic. "Huh... never thought to do that before!" he commented. Granted, he couldn't even shoot that much silky string on his own at once, so of course it was illogical to assume he could, but it was something he felt worthy of noting.

As Calli had refused to actually ignore the question Kenley tried to retract, the child shuffled his feet a bit in apprehensive reaction. It didn't seem as though the large joltik had actually examined the vocal pondering any deeper than the surface words, however, which kept the child from folding his emotion inward any further than it already was. He could work with this... "Well, if you want, feel free to use the forest above this area when you go outside. It's my territory, but... well, it's the least I could do for intruding on yours. Just let me know you're there so I don't try to hit you with any other attacks..." he snickered nervously before remembering one of the tribal-marked joltik's main complaints, "Um... it wouldn't be the Poison Sting. Eh, never mind." Seemed he was saying that a lot lately, but this was a case of being one of the few times he was actually being careful about not burning bridges.

As the introductions started, Kenley fidgeted, hoping it wouldn't have come up. It wasn't that he was embarrassed of his name, or giving them something to call him, but it just... lately wasn't linked to many positive things. He wasn't even quite positive why he wanted to leave his calling card out of the picture. He smiled at them regardless, "Haha, well it's been nice to meet you all!" Was this just a dream? He didn't think those words would ever pass out of his own mouth. Moving toward the rope of silk that led to the surface world, Kenley began rethinking his actions -- which was actually a bit hard when they were pulsing. They were being so friendly and welcoming, why would he shun all that when he was trying to repay them in kind? "I'm Kenley," he stated simply, which may have made it difficult for anyone standing at the furthest distance away to catch it, "I won't attack again now that I know the inhabitants aren't going to, either. Sheesh, give it a rest." He stuck his tongue out, relaying that he wasn't angry about being told to play pacifist around the joltik family, but he nodded to the rest of what Calliope stated. He wanted to say that he'd see them later, that he would be glad to come back down, but he was afraid to, as though that would change anything positive that had been built this afternoon. Twisting his hands around the string as he contemplated it, he just couldn't bring himself to say it, but hoped that maybe Calli would catch onto it anyway. "Be safe," he replied with a small wave, scaling himself out through the entrance that was not there days prior.

<<It has been a pleasure,>> Calli replied, with a nod of her head, as Kenley departed, <<maybe we will take you up on your offer. Till next we meet.>>

As he scaled out, the Joltiks all exclaimed, <<Goodbye Kenley!>>

After he had departed, Calli turned to the Joltiks. <>

<<Yes, Callie!>>

<<Ok, lets go!>>
