Page Boy Photo realism is somewhat of a crowd pleaser. People just basically want to see themselves.

Show people realistic looking humans- themselves- and they'll be happy. i suppose, but again, i wasn't speaking soley of portraits. People seem to be impressed with even non human photo-realism: nature, animals, landscapes, still lifes. actually, i think people accept stylism more easily with human and animal subjects, than with inanimate objects or scenes.

People seem to be impressed with even non human photo-realism: nature, animals, landscapes, still lifes. actually, i think people accept stylism more easily with human and animal subjects, than with inanimate objects or scenes. Yeah, it's funny how a picture that looks like a photograph, or more often, slightly more perfect than a photo could be, is most visually pleasing to people. You could put just as much work and effort and detail into an abstract or stylised piece as a realistic one and still most people would go for reality...
