Svärta had backed off a little bit. The younger hunter seemed to want a fight, but he wasn't interested. Plenty of other hyenas had surrounded them now, and they were eyeing their hostage with obvious interest. The little dog didn't have a chance, but she could probably dish out a bite or two before she was overpowered. He wasn't keen to add to his scar collection if he didn't have to.

"Slaves don't leave," Amanita said, "But you're welcome to try to run. I dare you to try."

He cackled, and several other hyena's chimed in. The elephant skulls reflected the sound, filling the air with echoing hyena laughter

How dare he! She was not a slave. This wasn't how she wanted this meeting to go at all, oh no! There were so many hyenas cackling around her, but she didn't think she could run. Would they kill her? They might. She didn't really want to risk that. If she went along with it, they might not hurt her...

She shrunk back, ears flattening to her skull. She took a deep breath, unsure of what to do. "No, no, I can't stay here. I have to go home," she back up a couple steps, or tried to. Only stopping when she heard a snarl behind her.

Perhaps, perhaps she would stay a while... She would leave when she wasn't being surrounded or watched so closely...? She shrunk further, cautiously stepping forward into the pride. This would not be her home - never. She just wished someone could save her now...

The end?

For a few heartbeats it looked as if the dog might run, but to Amanita's disappointment she shrank back into a dismissive stance. Boring. For the first time ever he'd managed to catch a slave (he ignored all about Svärta helping him) and there hadn't even been any bloodshed. What was the fun in hunting if he didn't get to bite anyone?

"You'll never leave," he said, with a nasty smile, "The only way out is dying, and we won't let you do that. No one can help you now."

Amanita had no way of knowing that the little dog wished for a savior, but he knew he wanted to hurt her. And if she refused to run he could only try to hurt her with his words. He snapped his jaws close enough to her hind legs that he knew she would feel the air moving.

"Now move!"

Several of his pack mates seemed just as eager to help herd the new "recruit" to the area designated for slaves. Amanita smiled. There might still be some bloodshed...
