"Nothin' to tree climbin' at all! Just gotta know how to handle the branches and the bark," he said cheerfully. Kettil turned a bit, "If you wanna go for it now then just follow me! I know an awesome place not far from here."

Kettil felt most at home within the woods. Within nature. He tried to get as much as much time in wooded areas as he could. The snow and the ice made it a bit harder to do that as of late but he persevered.

He started walking only to stop and sheepishly looked back at Shun, "If uh...You're ready that is."

It was definitely newer territory for Shun, who had grown up in a city. Sure, he had hiked and walked through woods before, but this was a bit different. Nodding quietly, he went on and started after Kettil.

"I'm ready. I was looking to do some training anyway. This should be an interesting push for myself," he said as he placed his hands back into his pockets. Staying active also helped stave away the cool air.

"You should always push yourself," he agreed with a firm nod. Despite being so easygoing and fun loving it seemed Kettil had a very strong work ethic that very few could shake out of him. One would expect him to be lazy but he was just the opposite, he wasn't afraid of hard work or challenges.

After Shun had confirmed that he was ready the boil was very happy to lead the way. He pushed at the snow with the toe of his foot whenever it was in his way. Kettil seemed so genuinely enthused that Shun would spend time with him like this.

It was like Shun was automatically his friend now, squee!

The trek didn't take overly long and it was done in relative (and in Kettil's case very excited) silence. Now and again Kettil rambled off some song lyric or small piece of conversation at Shun but otherwise the boil didn't mind being quiet. He led Shun about in the woods as he looked for a proper area to practice, "Let's see, what kind of stuff should we look for to practice on..."

"Good to hear you agree," Shun said with a nod as he walked along. And yes, he was completely unaware of how excited he had made Kettil with this. He just simply walked along, looking forward to the training experience that was up ahead.

On the way, he was pretty silent, though answered the other Reaper when presented with a question. There wasn't a great deal to say otherwise, he felt, and he was perfectly fine with silence for the most part. When they were in the woods, he kept a sharp eye out for things they could use. They were going to need to be a bit careful. Rocks and tree limbs had a greater chance of crumbling or breaking in general than the concrete and steel things found in cities. Of course, urban environments had loose bars and the like, but they were usually easier to pinpoint ahead of time.

There was also the fact that nature tended to have less even surfaces.

Coming to a pause, he scouted the area.

"There's a fallen tree over there near that rocky outcrop. Perhaps we could use that as a starting point."

It looked like the tree had been felled by a bolt of lightning or something like that.

Kettil for the most part was watching Shun scout out potential things, because for the most part the boil had no clue what he was doing. He was willing to learn. The Muut settled himself into the role of the student looking toward the teacher.

As Shun pointed things out he looked over toward them and nodded thoughtfully, "Alright, those could work!"

There was a second of pause, "You start and then I'll try to mimic you a few seconds after so we don't, y'know," his hands did a sort of a flailing motion indicating a crash.

Nodding quietly, Shun looked over the path laid out a little more before letting out a breath. He was going to need to be careful of his footing. Once he felt he was ready, he rushed on forth. The Reaper stepped up onto the fallen tree, being mindful of some of the branches that jutted out here and there. At the end, he leaped over to the rocks, grunting a little as his legs absorbed more impact than anticipated. But he pressed on and launched himself forward, reaching out for a branch.

His judgement was a little off, and he ended up slamming into it. But, he didn't fall. Grimacing, he pulled himself up onto the limb before turning around to see where Kettil had gone, staying in a crouched pose for now.

True to his word Kettil counted out a couple of seconds while he watched what paths Shun took and what stunts he performed. It was going to be tricky and unusual but certainly not unfamiliar. He might have done similar things but not quite in a sequence like this. Jump over a log? Sure. Climb up a random tree and leap from branch to another nearby branch? Certainly.

The boil rubbed his hands on his vest and soon walked forward getting onto the fallen tree that Shun once occupied and mimicked the grim. Kettil's jumps and movements were unpracticed and a little clumsy. More than a little clumsy. Kettil had to compensate for the slip of dampened iced rocks by making it look like he had planned it and just barely missed the branch that Shun had grabbed for.

Needless to say Kettil just hung there by his hands for a moment, panting.

Panting and grinning like a mad fox.

Shun watched the Muut as he made the moves. The guy was clumsy, but he supposed that was to be expected considering he was definitely still a novice at this. It was probably a good thing he didn't necessarily have the same sort of mentality as his father in that regard.

Once Kettil joined him... sort of, he stared down at the hanging man.

"Not too easy, is it?" he asked. For now he didn't bother trying to help him up. He'd see if he could do it on his own... once he stopped panting.

After he'd caught some of his breath there was a bit of hang time involved before eventually he began to pull himself up onto the branch. "Not easy, I like it," Kettil said cheerfully as he began to get a good look at their surroundings again.

"..Another?" He said almost playfully.

It was a good thing Kettil didn't have a cup just then. It'd probably end up smashed on the uneven ground below making more of an obstacle than ever before.

Raising an eyebrow, Shun found himself amused with Kettil's attitude. It was a good one. He wasn't shying away from the challenge and instead embracing it. Nodding, he looked around, scouting for their next path.

"This way."

Leaning forth, he dropped down from the branch, rolling onto the ground to disperse the impact. From there, he rolled up to his feet and broke off into a run. He leaped on over a log, rushing over to try and find a low branch of sorts. When he did spot one, he jumped up to pull himself onto it before propelling himself forth towards a higher one.

Unfortunately, he misjudged one of the branch's durability, and it broke out from under him, sending him straight to the ground.

Kettil nodded a little and then waited for Shun to get a little bit of a head start. He was doing a good job at keeping up with Shun. Unfortunately Kettil had missed the jump and ended up mostly grounded until he could find a better way up.

At least until he ended up cushioning Shun's fall completely by accident.

He collapsed under the other Reaper with a loud surprised sound.

Instead of the ground, Shun felt himself land on something squishier. Still, the impact was enough for him to let out a grunt before slowly pushing himself back to his feet. Well, he paused when he realized he was on top of Kettil. With a grimace, he rolled off first, then proceeded to stand back up.

"Dammit. I thought that branch could take the weight," he grumbled while looking up at the tree he had fallen out of. He could see the branch that had snapped.

"You alright?" he asked a little gruffly towards the other Reaper. He was a little sore from the fall himself, but the other guy was unwittingly a landing pad at the time.

If Shun had fallen on him from a higher branch it probably would have ended up disastrous, but thankfully he'd come away from this only sore, a couple of scratches, and likely with a nice bruise or two to tell the tale of when he softened the landing of the Grim. He took a moment or two longer to pick himself off the ground before he glanced at Shun and gave him a thumbs up and a lopsided grin. He didn't quite have the good breath in him to make a verbal response.

It seemed the impact knocked a bit of wind out of the Muut.

A few deep gasps and a soft cough straightened him out soon enough. "This will require a lot more practicing. Think it is actually good we are doing this together," he grinned a bit. It was always good to have someone nearby to spot you in case serious injury occurred.

He stretched his limbs up over his head, "Wanna try again?"

Pushing himself back to his feet, Shun dusted himself before looking around to see where he could have taken as far as his pathing went. Obviously the one branch was out of the question. It was a matter of plotting things out and hopefully this time he wouldn't end up plummeting again.

"Yes. Again. I'm not letting one fall defeat me today," he said firmly, though with a hint of irritation. He then made his way back towards where their starting point was. With a breath, he just went off without warning, mirroring the path he had done just before.

This time, when he reached the trouble spot, he launched himself further, reaching out for the branch of another tree. He just managed to grab a hold of it, and he swung his body to keep propelling himself forward towards a set of rocks. Upon landing, he continued to go forth, jumping into the next tree, that he began to scale as swiftly as he could. It didn't seem like he was stopping just yet.

Kettil pushed both fists into the air as he repeated, "Again!" in a much more excited tone than Shun had done a few seconds ago. Kettil was probably the opposite of frustrated at the moment but it was likely due to the fact that it was such an interesting challenge.

The Muut followed after the other boil with a big smile on his face and then he waited for a few seconds so he wouldn't end up tripping Shun up or getting himself hurt in some other silly way. At least Kettil realized it was best to not go in complete tandem way before now.

After a quiet ten-count he sped after Shun. He managed to grasp the branch and after it felt firm he managed to swing himself with enough force to manage a quick flip before he got to the rocks that Shun had decided to scale on. Kettil was still following.
