...He was seriously accepting this? Was he insane? Fine, she'd go easy on him. Candace finally lifted her foot off the boy's back and reached down to help him stand, showing a little bit of trust by not just holding him by the arm and dragging him out. She'd be nice for now. "Brave boy. Lead the way." Candace would wait for him to do as she said, though regardless if he did or not they would end up at the training field. She was not sparring him anywhere they were not supposed to be fighting. "So is there a reason you're a disrespectful child or are you just a rebel without a cause?" She reached into her pocket and removed a pair of runic gloves, putting them on and stretching out her arms. The runic gloves had no special effect other than helping her keep her balance by protecting her joints and hands more than a normal pair of gloves.

At least she removed her foot.
Part of him was tempted to just bolt, but something told him she'd have him pinned down again in a matter of seconds. Besides, he was never one to back down from a fight.
When she reached down to help him, he only swatted her hand away.
"I'm fine."
He frowned at her, but proceeded to march towards the training grounds, the fields all too familiar to him by now.
Turning to face her, the frown turned into a smirk.
"I'll let you figure that out yourself."
The other blade was summoned, and he watched as the hunter put on what seemed to be... runic gloves? Were those another form of weapon?
Be quiet and focus.

Do you have a plan?Not this time~. Candace grinned. She might go easy on him, which might also piss him off if he caught wind of it. Oh, that sounded like fun. Candace hit his arm to lessen the blow of a blade hitting her some, pouting at the slice on her sleeve. Damn. The Mist Hunter took a moment to take off her coat and toss it a safe distance away, cracking her knuckles and taking a more defensive position this time. Seeing that she was defending instead of attacking was already grating on his nerves, and he only frowned as she tossed her coat.
"What's the matter? Are those boots only for show? Or are you just all talk?"
He delivered a stronger bow, hoping that would make her take him seriously.

Insolent scareling! Why don't you use me? Beat respect into his face. Atropos hissed, the weapon glowing brighter with her irritation. Candace simply rolled her eyes and shook her head. I'm not taking his bait."The reason I'm not using Atropos on you is because I'd rather not get in trouble for nearly killing a trainee by accident." Even if she didn't end up doing that she did hope he would get the picture. Candace made like she was attacking him now, rushing close and...sliding around the boy to get behind him and give him a little shove. "I don't use her on trainees. This time it was Jake's turn to roll his eyes.
"Please. As if you could kill me that easily."
He raised up the tonfas as she came closer, expecting a blow, but the shove only made him stumble forward and shoot a glare at her.
"Don't treat me like a kid." he spat. "Even if you don't take this seriously, I will, and you'll end up regretting it."
He swung the tonfa at her, hoping she'd actually finally fight back.

Jake told her to stop treating him like a kid and she gave a gentle 'tsk', letting Atropos revert to her totem form before she dropped down to the ground, her balance on one foot and her hands; she spun, sweeping one leg across Jake's to hopefully send him harmlessly to the ground. As if to add insult to injury, the hunter had the gall to de-summon her weapon. Didn't that leave her without a shield?
"And here I thought I was the cocky one." he muttered, preparing to strike again, when the hunter swiped a leg at him, knocking him over.
It wasn't enough to damage his shield, but definitely enough to piss him off.
"Who's acting childish now?" he hissed, pushing himself up to strike back at her. If she wanted scars this bad, who was he to object?

The swing connected with his jawline, sending him reeling back.
"Fine by me if you wanna get yourself cut up. I doubt you're the kind to worry about looks at this point." he spat. "But I warn you, keep this up, and you'll regret it."
The runes on his weapons emitted a familiar glow, indicating a full charge.

He grit his teeth, grip on the tonfas tightening. The nerve of this woman.
The runes glowed brighter, but then suddenly fizzled, a small crackle was heard as the charge failed. Dammit, he was still getting the hang of this.
