He figured he knew one thing that might have cheered Noah up, and he took the time to finish the pie and proceeded to pull out his wallet. The piece may have been on the house, but he was willing to pay for the whole pie itself- he figured it would have been an acceptable pay off for rustling his jimmies and borderline insulting his cooking, something that was outright unforgivable from one chef to another.
"I'd like you buy the pie, then. I may drop in every so often to see what other delectable treats you might have," Richard said, pulling out a twenty and handing it to Noah. He kept his tone kind and respectable, despite the gleam in his eyes as he thought about seeing Zia again. Until Noah said otherwise, he'd at least continue looking at her- Richard will be Richard, after all. "I'll even send some of my customers your way, a little thanks from one business owner to the other. Every little bit helps, right?"
