"It's okay. I sometimes get lost, too," he grinned playfully.
"We certainly can," He laughed, "I think I know of a nice little restaurant in town, even. They make all sorts of nice things," Kettil said cheerfully. With a destination in mind he started walking them toward it, his body turning slightly toward a path as they passed it.
At her concerned tone and behavior he felt oddly touched and he gave a small smile, "Don't look so down, ghoulie. I haven't seen you smile much since I met ya. Kinda wonderin' if you need lessons on how to."
Kettil crossed his arms over his chest and nodded a bit, "Some things had happened an' honest I am not at liberty to talk about 'em. She didn' tell me I could," he said quietly. Even though he had spilled a lot of things onto Xiu some weeks back he wanted to try and be a little careful about the more current ongoings.
"Is emotional mostly. She just...I just think maybe seein' a friend will make her happy again, yeah?" Kettil said with a bit of a chuckle. "I love takin' care of her, but she thrives on the love of many and not just me y'know?"

Mitsu's expression lightened considerably at the mention of a restaurant that might have pudding but she still did not smile. Shun had been the only one to make her smile lately, not that she had really seen anyone else. Not Xiu or Lizzy or even Hel. She had mostly stayed hidden away in her room. Maybe there was just something wrong with her?
She looked mildly embarrassed as Kettil pointed it out, her gaze drifting to the road ahead of them as they left the school behind. "A...a lot has happened..." Mitsu said quietly, her voice hinting that while she would explain that much she really didn't want to go into details. It was probably for that reason why she could respect the fact that Kettil couldn't tell her exactly what was wrong with Freya. It was private, though Mitsu wasn't sure who Shun had told. She hadn't exactly told him to keep it a secret.
"I..I don't know if I would make her happy." Mitsu said softly. Anymore Mitsu wasn't sure if she could be someone to rely on for support. Without Shun she couldn't even keep herself going. It didn't mean she didn't want to see Freya though and her expression softened at Kettil's words. "It sounds like she's in good hands."

His expression fell somewhere between ashamed and concerned, "Ahh, I'm sorry," he said quietly as he drooped his head a little. Kettil had done a bad, bad thing, "There I go stompin' around like an idiot," he laughed slightly. It was his way of letting her know that she didn't need to go into much further detail than that.
At her words Kettil shook his head, "I think it'd make her very happy to just see you and hear your voice," he rebutted back at her doubt. Kettil wasn't going to budge on the idea except to say, "Just y'know, whenever y'are ready to come see her. It doesn't have to be right away but one day go and give her a hug. Catch up a bit."
The boil only wanted to see the light return to Freya's face.

It would have appeared as if Mitsu had made Kettil feel bad and she rose a hand to wave for him to stop. "N-no it's okay." She stuttered, her voice growing a little hoarse as she spoke. At least he didn't prod for details, for that Mitsu was thankful and fell silent again as they continued on.
She tilted her head up just enough so that she could look at Kettil with knitted brows, her expression softening again at his words. Even without speaking she was at least fairly expressive in her moods, her eyes lighting up at the idea that Freya would want to see her. Finally she nodded, letting Kettil know she would go. "Okay. M..maybe we can pick her something up? Like a gift?" But from there she fell silent again, a sort of tension falling over her as they made their way into town, her eyes lingering on strangers as they walked by.

That was forgiveness enough for him. He gave her a nod, "Alright then. I just don't want to ruin our friendship so soon."
The boil brightened a lot at the suggestion, "I think she'd love that, we'll get her something nice together," he said happily, he almost sounded excited. He watched her quietly, the way she behaved and how her eyes lingered on strangers.
Was that a good thing? A bad thing?
Quietly he offered Mitsu a crook of his arm to hold on to in case she needed some comfort, "What kind of puddin' you like best?"

The longer they walked the more panicked Mitsu became. It was different walking into town without Shun, everything seemed so much bigger, the people more dangerous. Subtle things made her jump and her head turned back toward the school like it was a safe haven in the distance.
Turning toward Kettil about to say she wanted to go back she looked at his offered arm. It was a small gesture but one she didn't take lightly. Freeing one hand from Milo she hesitantly reached up, her fingers just starting to reach around Kettil's elbow to grasp his arm when someone sneezed right beside her.
In a blur Kettil would only know two things, that he had a lycan desperately and almost painfully clinging to his back like a school bag and a foxfire suddenly perched on his shoulder. This had gone well.

The boil froze a bit but not because someone sneezed but because there was suddenly a Mitsu at his back and a Puffball on his shoulder. He wondered how he could make this better for her without it being too forward but he still knelt a bit so she could clamber on more securely, "Come on, Lil' 'Íswet, climb aboard." He just simply waited for her to climb on so he could support her with his arms. Kettil was careful to not dislodge the foxfire as he moved about.
"Won't let anyone hurt ya while we go on an adventure together," he promised quietly. He could at least do that much for her. It was easy to see now that crowds made her highly uneasy.

Breathing deep and quick Mitsu peeked around Kettil's free shoulder to keep an eye out for danger. Milo currently occupied the other side but he merely lounged over the reaper's shoulder, tail wagging like nothing in the world was wrong. He even managed to tilt his head toward Kettil to lick his cheek in appreciation. Or maybe it was simply because he could.
It wasn't until Mitsu realized she was getting lower to the ground did she give much thought to her current location. Oh....jack. Her first instinct was to jump off and apologize for what she had done but he had told her to climb on. There was a bit of a mental battle before she set one foot on the ground long enough to stable herself before she tentatively climbed into place on his back.
Resting her arms over top of his shoulders she was sure not to knock Milo off as she hung on, her eyes still peeking around the crowd like there was danger afoot. "T..there's no one to get us?" She whispered. "No hunters?"

Kettil laughed as the pup licked his cheek, "Back at ya," he said to Milo with a grin.
"Screechie, let them try to get us. I'll tear their heads off an' worse," he said with a bit of fierce honesty to his voice. Once she was more settled against his back he stood carefully. He started to walk forward as he held onto her more securely, "If anythin', I'd make damn sure we could get away," he said some of his cheer creeping into her voice.
The boil walked along quietly until he came to a stop at the door, which happened to open as he walked up to it. A customer on the way out was given a small nod of thanks for holding the door open and he entered with Mitsu and Milo in tact.
"Step one of our grand adventure is complete~, we have made it to the palace of the pudding." He announced.

Mitsu tried to be comforted by his words but there was just too much doubt in her mind to really believe them. She knew what the hunters were capable of if they really wanted something done. Even on their own they weren't always easy to overpower. Not a word was uttered though, she didn't want to dash the idea that Kettil was helping. Instead she nodded and quietly stayed perched on his back, eyes scanning the crowd as he rose and continued on his way.
It wasn't long before they came to a stop, Kettil turning and taking them inside. When it was announced they were at the palace of pudding Mitsu's ears perked high on top of her head, her meek voice whispering out something that vaguely touched on being joyful. "Yay~"

Kettil was more about the promise than he was completely about comforting her. Chances were he'd sacrifice himself many times until Mitsu got away. That was neither here nor there.
They were seated by a hostess and upon Kettil's request they were given a booth. It was only then that Kettil knelt to let the smaller ghoul down on the ground, "Go sit down and I'll have a seat next to ya."
It was more so she would hopefully feel more secure.

Whether they got strange looks or not from Kettil carrying her in Mitsu didn't seem to notice. She was at least calmer, though her heart was still hammering in her chest. As they were led to a seat she eyed the booth before Kettil knelt to let her slip off his back. Finally she relinquished her spot, sliding off and letting her feet touch the floor. Reaching up she collected Milo who appeared like he was going to stay contently where he was before she nodded and sat down scooting over to give Kettil room.
Even though she knew what she was getting Mitsu rose the menu to have a look over with Milo staring at some of the pictures that were available. If only they were scented pictures.
"T...thank you for carrying me here." Mitsu said shyly. It probably made the trip much faster. She didn't realize how much she relied on Shun being there to feel better about being around others. At least Kettil was nice, it helped her to let her guard down a little, though Mitsu was still a tad leery.

Kettil settled next to Mitsu after he had thanked the hostess for their time. As he picked up the menu he gazed through it thoughtfully. The shyly uttered words of the ghoul next to him resulted in him giving her a wide grin and shaking his head, "Not a problem, I was glad to do it if it made you breathe easier and happy."
The boil didn't seem to mind doing things for ghouls he barely knew - within reason.
He gazed down at the menu as a waiter came up carrying a small notepad, "What can I get you guys to drink?"
Kettil uttered a thoughtful sound before he said, "Some iced tea, please."

It was rather surprising how nice Kettil was considering they had just met but perhaps that was his personality. Or maybe he was a hunter spy. Only time would tell. For now Mitsu tried to relax and look forward to pudding.
When the waiter came Mitsu was about to announce what she wanted but he asked for a drink order not what she wanted to eat. Oh, did she need a drink? "Uhhh...water." She nodded. "And I want pudding." She was just throwing that out there. That's what she had come here for after all.
"Are you getting anything to eat? I can pay." Since she had made him come here in a way...and carry her. It was the least she could do.

The waiter wrote down the drink orders and also the food order since it was already put forward.
Kettil paused a moment at Mitsu's offer and tilted his head, "You don't have to if you don't want ta. It isn't a big deal," he said not because he didn't appreciate it but because he didn't want her to feel obligated to spend money on him for anything that he had done for her. For him all of these moments of protectiveness just came naturally.
The boil stared down at the menu before he announced, "I'll take the pudding as well, I think. Sounds good right now."
The waiter smirked and nodded as he wrote that down and then disappeared to go get drinks.
