Avani had clearly loosened up from her usual withdrawn self. There was just something about Dagda that put her at ease, and brought out a more playful side. It was certainly new to her, but she didn't seem to mind behaving like silly kits for the time being.
She blushed some when he bumped noses with her, then swiftly gave his nose the tiniest of licks, giggling with embarrassment. She was so used to wearing her glasses that she couldn't help blinking a little more frequently than usual.. not having them on made her feel.. exposed, in a way. The eyes were mirrors of the soul, after all. Eyes held so much information. She didn't want just anyone to see her soul like that..
She scooted just a little closer to Dagda, then. "Th-thank you", she replied to the compliment. "A-and yeah.. I think I could.. go w-without wearing them when it's you.. if you'd like." She was kneading with her paws somewhat nervously, her tail flicking from side to side. "I-I.." she began with a smile, but fell silent again, her blush deepening and spreading even further, her gems glowing a steady crimson again. She wasn't really sure how to say this. Or if it was even appropriate to say such things at this point. She had never before realized just how much she had missed Dagda. Surely, they hadn't spent quite as much time together as Avani had spent with Isis, but somehow.. there had always been something a bit different, a bit special, about him.

Dagda turned red at the lick. Gosh what had Avani just done. He backed off the slightest bit, though not too terribly much. He liked Avani, she was extremely likable and smart...Talented too, no denying that. He extremely loved the way she looked without her glasses too, though they were cute on her as well....
At her reply he turned a little more pink, smiling quietly to himself. "Would you? You're so beautiful without them. I won't make you do that for me though..." He tried to be as calm as possible, watching her nervously move just a little. Gosh that was even cuter. But...What was she about to say? He leaned a little closer, curious about what it was. Dagda thought he might know, quite possibly he knew what she was going to say all along. Perhaps he could do it instead? Avani was so shy...In an extremely endearing way.
"Shh...." He soothed, nuzzing her cheek. "You don't have to say it..." Though he really did want to hear it! Just to hear it would make his heart soar! He might as well grow wings like hers and flutter to the heavens right now! But...It needed to be said, didn't it? So carefully he continued to soothe her, just to whisper it once.
"I love you too."

She froze for a bit at his words. It was what she had been thinking, yes.. but she had felt it was too early to say it out loud. Him doing it instead sent her reeling for a moment.
..but at least there was no doubt that they both felt the same way, right? She had completely forgotten they were in a public space, at this point. Everything around them seemed to have simply disappeared. This was turning out to be the best day of her life, tied with the day she'd met Isis and Dagda. She didn't even want to think about the possibility of never getting to know the two. It was still possible she would have eventually discovered magic.. but it wouldn't be the same. She was so excited about it because it was a kind of connection with the two. A special thing the three shared. What she and Dagda shared.
Unsure what to say at the moment, she decided not to spoil it by changing the subject or blurting out something incredibly awkward. Instead, she gently pressed her forehead into his neck fluff, closing her eyes. Her tail was still flicking about, but at a somewhat calmer pace, even though her heart was racing as fast as ever. Had she been a cat, she would've been purring. She was both calm and flustered at the same time - it was the weirdest feeling, but not at all unpleasant.

Dagda had said it. Maybe he had said the wrong thing. He just tried to watch her expression, trying to decide if he had been too rash.
He loved her though. He really did. Always did, though had been perhaps too little to realize it. Avani was special to him, he knew that as a bowl, as a kit, but that had just been friendship. Now. Now they were older. Now he could understand, and just seeing her, and how beautiful and talented she had grown up to be only kick-started it more. She was so smart, and so adorably cute, and he certainly wouldn't mind spending the rest of his life with her.
He did freeze a little as she decided to cuddle in against his fluff, what little he had, being more suited for water life than she was, but let her. This was nice, and this was an answer. A quiet one at that, but still an answer. He nuzzled her hair just a little, careful of her horns, and settled down with her. He would be hers as long as she wanted...And he hoped that she would be his in return.

After laying there for a while, Avani suddenly became aware of their surroundings once more. Her eyes fluttered wide open and she was about to jump up, but realized Dagda would probably take that the wrong way..
"I-I-I--" she began to stutter, "I-I think we s-s-should find somewhere more p-p-private." Her ears were pressed flat against her head, and her tail was flicking about in an agitated manner. Had it been anyone other than Dagda in her company, she would have bolted by now. His presence calmed her just enough to stay still. "I n-noticed that some people are s-s-staring at us", she continued, embarrassed.
"I'm h-happy with you, b-b-but I don't l-like drawing so much attention." She gave his nose a small, discreet lick, and then slowly sat up. She trusted he'd understand her need for privacy. She continued to smile at him, a little afraid that she'd seem like she wanted away from what had just been discussed. She did like him, oh so very much. So much, it probably would have been safe to describe as love. She was just afraid to say it. At least yet. He was so sweet, so kind, so downright adorable, how could she not cherish him?

Dagda didn't even take it the worst in the slightest. He was already well aware of how shy she could be, and frankly, spending some time away from prying eyes would be nice.
"Not a problem....Where would you like to go?" Anywhere would be fine, really. He was fairly sure he couldn't get her to breathe underwater just yet though. And he certainly would never ever think of bringing harm to Avani! Never! "I don't think you'd last well underwater though...."
He smiled at the lick to his nose, and delicately picked up the figurine he had made of her, tail swishing back and forth. Unable to speak very well with it, he tilted his head, squinting his eyes at her. Where to now~?

Avani's ears flicked back and forth some as she pondered. Should she bring Dagda to her house? It would probably be too noisy. Then she remembered a quiet nook in the forest that she'd found as a kit where she would go read up on magic, on the days when she didn't feel like being around crowds.
"I-I think I know a nice, q-quiet place not too far from h-here", she said then with a smile. "I would l-love to see what the world l-looks like underwater.. m-maybe that's what I s-should study next, some kind o-of s-spell that would help me m-manage down there."
She hadn't met Dagda's parents yet, after all.. or any of his family, really, aside from Isis, obviously. It would be nice to get to know them all. She hoped they would like her.. She nuzzled him gently as she began to head out, wanting to show Dagda her 'secret hideout'.

Quiet? Quiet was good. He nodded at her suggestion, mulling it over. Yes...He'd like her to be able to see his home one day, especially with all the fish swimming around...and with both of them having magical talent, they were sure to find a solution somehow.
"Then let's go, shall we?" He gave a smile, following her out. His thoughts remained on her family, and he was just the slightest bit worried about what his own fathers would say about him and Avani....Though not too terribly worried.
With that, the two best friends left the shop, leaving a new sort of magic in the air....
