It was probably the look that had been on her father's face when she had turned that had caused her to speak, he had looked desperate and relieved and afraid and happy all at once... it was only as she looked at him fall to his knees before her that she realised he had been worried about her. She shook her head causing the bells to jingle before getting up and walking towards him... her hooves were slow but steady as they ate up the ground a little apprehensively between them, when she got there she lowered her head and kissed her father's cheek, whispering so quietly that it was possible it would be missed. "Sorry...." She couldn't have said what had caused her to speak the second time, but it had felt... right? She took a deep breath and something clicked, and slowly she had to wonder... was this a new leaf for her? Heart broken and the courage to speak, to actually have confidence that what she had to say was just as important as anyone else's words? Well... she didn't know about that, but this was a start, slow and sure... right? This would be good enough. Her eyes wandered back to the flowers and she smiled a little despite herself... sometimes things didn't work out how you thought, they didn't act or do what you expected.... she didn't want to be predictable ever again.
Chandra froze as she heard the 'Mum' and looked up... Heze? Had they found Auva already?
Heze did a spin as she shot overhead, cheering as she did only to loop the loop and head back where she came from. "Come on mum! You arent going to believe this!" Carlisle looked at Chandra somewhat baffled, but offered an unsure smile. "You better hurry, sounds important." Sonnet shot out a wing and dragged Auva close, huggign her as tight as he could, nuzzlign her mane making the bells jingle, but keeping her from seeing him cry. "Oh my little star! I never dreamed... I'd nearly given up hope..." Not showing any sign of beign about to let her go, just hugging her tight like she was th most precious thing to him in that moment.

Chandra looked up in disbelieve... not going to believe what? She looked at Carlisle and for some reason no one's words seemed to be settling in, she just blinked and then shook herself to snap out of it. "Right... got to go... thanks.... maybe you should come too...." She spoke rather absentmindely even as she started to run home.... what was it now? It didn't sound bad.... it sounded... good? She was hopeful as she picked up speed through the trees to discover what was happening. Auva didn't know what to do when her father dragged her close and nuzzled her so affectionatly that she thought her heart might break all the same... was her talking that much of a celebration to him? She felt something wet land on her leg... was he... crying? She had never seen her father cry, and she tried to pull back to see if it was true but found she couldn't move, all she could do was lean forward and hold him back. She didn't speak again, this time simply having no idea what to say or do.... what did you do when you made your father cry? Well, she started to cry too, apparently that was the answer, and it was surprising that she was even able to cry any more given how much she had cried already.
Carlisle called after Chandra as she ran off, thinking that it might be best if he gave Auva some space, assuming that she had turned up and thats what this was. "You have wings!" Heze circled over head looking out for her mother and beign a good sign of where her father and Auva was so she had no idea what was going on. but she somehow felt this was something for just her parents and Auva, she had done her bit. Sonnet blinked feeling the damp of tears on his pelt, shifting his head a little, wonderign why she was crying, Easing his hold a little, afraid he was hurting her but squeezing to hard. Kissing her in the general vacinity of her forhead before holding her more gently.

I have wings! Of course I have wings, she blinked, her mind not completely registering even as she opened her wings and jumped through the remaining trees before opening them more and flying in the sky after her daughter..... what was it? She really couldn't guess.... it didn't take long to see the form of Sonnet and... AUVA! Her smile brightened and fell into place, her baby was safe! They were all safe. The relief washed over her so fiercely that it would have surprised her on any other day... right now, all that mattered was that all of her family was safe! Auva felt her father shift a little and used it as an excuse to wriggle out of his embrace a little and look at him. At first there was no smile on her face, but mostly because she wasn't sure how she should react or act... then she saw the drying tear tracks down her fathers face and knew he had been crying, without thinking she leaned ward and kissed on of those tracks, a silent apology even as she pulled back giving her ear a deliberate flick to cause bells to ring once more. That was when something caught her attention above and she looked up to see her sister and mother.... she blushed again, her nose turning soft pink.... she had made everyone worry. Unable to stand it she leaned forward and buried her nose in her fathers wing, very similar to something she had done as a foal.
Heze veered off to get some sleep now that everyone was safe and sound, giving one more spin before going to settle not far from Haki. Sonnet looked over as his mate landed, letting her hide agaisnt him, thinking she was still the same shy girl as always, she had often hidden under his wing or behind him, tohugh not usually from her mother. His mile for Chandra was one of pure joyus radiance as she landed and came closer. "She spoke...." His eyes misting up again, having blamed himself for her silence, thinking there must be somethign defective that he had passed on, after all his sister was mute and thinking that she would have spoken before this if she had wanted to, and she had seemed to want to communicate with them. And so he had blamed himself for this failing. It feeling for him like a weight had lifted off his chest.

Chandra practically fell to the ground in a lump when she heard Sonnet's words... Auva spoke? She spoke? Her smile echoed Sonnet's. "She spoke?" The disbelief was obvious, it sung and danced in her voice.... and after a moment all she could do was laugh and practically leap at the pair of them to join the group embrace. "You spoke! You clever clever girl you!" Part of her was a little jealous that she hadn't heard it, but the mere joy that Auva had spoke seemed to cast out everything else... it was then that the soft and delicate aroma of... flower's struck her. Pulling back from the group cuddle long enough to look at a collection of the most beautiful and unique flowers she had ever seen she frowned slightly.... what the? What was confusing her more was that they were bound by a scarf with a star hanging from it, not something of Auva's which meant... Auva hadn't picked them.... "Flowers?" She asked in surprise, looking down at Auva who was still buried in her fathers wing.... memories of what Carlisle had told her had happened didn't seem to fit in with the image before her. A speak and flower owning girl wasn't the kind who had just run away from a stallion they had kissed in an effort to declare their feelings.... what had happened after she had fled her friend? "Who are they from Auva?" She actually wasn't expecting an answer, simply asked as she always did. Auva wriggled further under her fathers wing and tried to disappear for a moment, she took deep steadying breath, and as the mention of flowers came up and her blush brightened she decided something... she wasn't going to run from it. So, mustering all her courage she decided to answer her mothers question, though the answer came out in an almost high pitched squeak. "Sin."
Sonnet had forgotten the flowers in his joy, looking from Chandra down to Auva under his win. His eyes going wide as she actually answered, though the flair of joy at that was dulled by the worrying question. Who was Sin? Looking back to his mate, knowing nothign about what had happened, Sin seeming a very odd name to him. Sin was somethign to be avoided so why would anyone get th name without havign earnt it. Frowning a little not liking the idea of someone called Sin giving his daughter anything.

Chandra knew that Sonnet had said that she had spoke... but knowing it and hearing it... two very different things! The smile appeared once more, brillant and bright, to the point that she didn't actually even care about what Auva had said, just that he had said something! It was almost like a party trick and the urge to blurt out "do it again, do it again" was almost too much to bare. She caught Sonnet's gaze when he looked at her and smiled, oblivious to the internal battle her mate was having. Instead she just leaned in and kiss them both. Auva felt the kiss and blushed more, to the point that she pulled back from her fathers embrace and made her way back towards her flowers before curling up around them once more.... oh man! It seemed that they would make a big deal of her speaking now... and did she really just give Sin's name out! Her blush brightened, and only taking another sniff of the flowers calmed her down.... no, she had decided to speak, she couldn't back out now.... even if she really didn't think what she had to say was worth listening it too... it made her parents so happy, how could she deny them that happiness? She dared to sneak a peek at them only to see her mother looking at her with disbelieve... oh kill me now! She shouldn't have said anything, knew what a busy-body her mother could be at times... what if... what if they tried to get more answers out of her or tried to find Sin! NO NO NO NO!! They couldn't do that. Unsure what to do she brother her own wing up and covered her face again... curses... this is what talking did!
Sonnet watched, not able to stop the smile that lit his face again after Chans kiss. His eyes settling on Auva again though and noting how she curled around those flowers like they were a precious treasure. They were lovely though, some he had maybe only seen once. His eyes falling to the star on the cloth that held them together, feeling the weight of Maions pendant around his neck, wondering if there was another feeling lighter without that. His eyes going back to Chandra not sure what to make of this. Shifting a little to stand, thinking that they were just embarrasing Auva now, she needed rest, she seemed no worse for ware and he and Chandra would also need to talk to make sense of this.

Chandra looked at Sonnet and smiled and nodded before getting to her hooves and indicating with her head that they should leave.... she too saw how Auva was with the flowers, she also looked at the star pendant again... a sign? After all, how many had star pendants? They should probably try and return that precious gift before the owner got too far away... so many more questions started to surface, and she wanted to pry, wanted to get details out of her freshly talking daughter... but she also knew not to overwhelm her, knew that they couldn't push it or her or it would have the opposite effect, Chandra knew that neither her or Sonnet wanted her to clamp her mouth shut once more... but why had one meeting with this 'Sin', some flowers and a star pendant brought out Auva's voice? It was a mystery... and one Chandra planned to resolve. Slowly she started to walk a little away from Auva, hoping that her mate would get the picture and follow. Auva looked at the flowers and once again fell into her own world... she had no idea what any of it meant, she didn't even know if she should know.... but she had so many questions, most of 'why'? Why had Sin given her such rare treasures? After all that was exactly what each flower was to her... a rare and magnificent treasure.
Sonnet followed after his mate quietly, his mind already going over things. Falling into step with Chandra, having mellowed out a little, but only a little, in that he didn't go off on some tirade about stallions and his daughters. Thogh the name of this one set his teeth on edge. So he walked quietly, glancing back now and then, frowning at how content and blissful she seemed all for some flowers. Scowling, letting Chandra direct the conversation before he went into overprotective dad mode and they got no where

Chandra didn't know what possessed her, probably a need to always be open and honest with her mate, or maybe it was a desire to try and piece together the whole story.... "Auva kissed Carlisle.... she was rejected and hurt and ran from him...." She took looked back at Auva, they were far enough now that their daughter couldn't hear them, though she suspected their youngest would soon be asleep given her long an emotional wrung day. "...Sin huh?" She mused to herself and frowned before bursting out laughing. "Trust Auva, the silent one to go out and find a stallion called Sin..." But was it a real name or a nickname? Still her mind wandered to the pendant and the flowers, whoever had made up that gift wasn't all bad.... it was then she looked over at her mate and smiled once more before nuzzling into his neck, remembering hearing those high pitched squeeky vocals as she had said Sin.... "Our little girl can talk!"
Sonnet nuzzled his mate, though he had stopped walking, having to take a few breaths before he looked at her again.... "Pardon? She kissed the healer?" The undercurrent of rage, thinking that perhaps it was the other way round, his little innocent Auva wouldn't be so bold. Looking about set to go and pull the healers wings off, all 8 of them. Leaving the issue of Sin for later, he would talk about it once he got past his paternal insanity.

Chandra saw the look in Sonnet's eyes and pulled at his hair sharply to get his attention. "Don't even think it...." She ordered, her eyes narrowing, despite the fact she was pretty sure his thoughts echoed some of her earlier ones, "He was deverstated and upset when I saw him earlier, he was so worried about Auva being in pain and was trying to do the best for her..." Didn't mean she agreed with him not telling them... but that was another story and it wasn't what she wanted to think about right now. "...what do we do? What if she stops talking again? What if the flowers die and then suddenly the memory of this.... Sin... isn't good enough to keep her open and alive like this? And then there's the star... do you think it's a message... a warning?" The more she thought about it the more she started to wonder if it was a coincident or if it was something more, something darker and deadlier... the name did indicate as such after all!
Sonnet yelped as she yanked on his hair, looking at him and looking suitably chastised, sighing, glad his trust in the healer was not misplaced. Sighing and nodding, focusing on the rest of the conversation. "There are ways to preserve the flowers if they are that important to her.... Sin.... Doesn't sound like a name someone would give a child.... Well maybe a Kalona.... She would tell us if she met a Kalona or skinwalker right.... I mean why would one of those give her flowers? "

Chandra hadn't even begun thinking about the possibility of a skinwalker or a kalona! And now... that was all she could think about. She looked to Auva, sweet innocent Auva and frowned, "She's only just started talking... she probably wouldn't just tell us anything Sonnet." Chandra's words were a little sad, after all she had no idea if Auva had simply recently learnt to talk or if it was something else, something deeper, for all they knew this Sin was a unicorn who had healed something in Auva that broken and now she could speak because of that kindness... but that didn't make sense either. She stamped her hoof a little in frustration and looked up at Sonnet, "I think we might have to find this Sin... part of me wants to thank them.... and maybe by finding them we will learn the truth?" Not that they knew what 'Sin' looked like.... but still... She frowned, ok, this wouldn't be easy... maybe Auva would tell her a little if she did pry?
Sonnet nods and sighs. "Ok so we need to find this Sin.... whatever it is.... Well most would be about in the daytime.... we don't know what time the.... the incident with Carlisle happened so if he has been awake all day and most of the night odds are that this Sin is sleeping.... I'd wager somewhere not too far away... I'll see if I can follow her trail and find out where she was, see where she met this sin and see if I can pick up the trail to where ever he or she is...."

Chandra nodded then thought of something, "Haki is good at tracking, maybe if you two work together you'll be able to find him faster?" Still, she felt a little odd about it all... sure it had been her idea, and she still thought it was for the best.... but what if Auva got upset because they found Sin? And what if she didn't want to see him again? Maybe they were misintrepretting the young mares reaction? She shook her head, no, they needed to thank Sin either way.... and take it from there. It was only polite, no good deed should go unrewarded. Especially once that had had just a huge impact. Chandra wondered if this 'Sin' knew exactly what a gift he had given them all.... "Be safe." She whispered and leaned into kiss her mate.
Sonnet nods and gives her a kiss. "I will, you get some rest." Giving her a smile and turning to go and find Haki, hoping he had gotten some good sleep as there was no telling how late they would be up. Walking over to where Haki was, trying to keep his voice down as most were sleeping by now. "Haki... Haki, wake up, we have a job to do." Looking around, not wanting to wake Heze.

Chandra nodded and let her mate have his way, she wandered back towards Auva and settled close to her before settling down to sleep. Haki heard his name and came awake almost immediatly, an inbred responce probably, but he rolled over to see Sonnet looking down at him... and man, it was hell of a scary sight. Was this it, was he about to get killed by the guy because he had finally got to close or pushed too far with his daughter? It took a moment for the words 'we have a job to do' to actually sink in, and with them came a frown. A job, at this time? He shook his head and clawed his way to his claws and hooves before stretching slightly. It was then his eyes drifted to Heze, she was sleeping not that far away and a looking of almost longing passed over his features before he trained it away... it wouldn't do to show that in front of her father. He shook his head again, trying to dislogde the remnance of sleep before looking at his boss. "What do you need, I do?"
Sonnet nodded, indicating that they should move away from the others before talking. Speaking quietly once they were underway. "We are going to track someone down... Auva has started speaking... It seems after this person gave her a gift.... We are afraid to press her for answers, she might stop talking. So we will ask this one... Possibly thank them... It just seems all very odd.... A stranger bringing her to speak... at least we think they are a stranger.... There are other worries too"

Haki listened to Sonnet's words and frowned... was his misunderstanding something? Wasn't it a good thing that Auva was talking, did they really need to thank this person? Why was it odd? In the end Haki just gave up trying to reason with it and sighed and asked directly, "What is odd?" He swallowed hard when he realised who he was talking to and added swiftly, "If you don't mind me asking.... sir." He cleared his throat and looked away, pretending for a moment to be looking for tracks and signs to help them. There was one important thing he needed to know in order to know where to start, "Do we know what exactly we are tracking?" It was then that his intelligent eyes turned to Sonnet once more.
Sonnet stopped and looked at him, sighing with a half chuckle. "Ok.... Don't be afraid to ask me questions, I don't think you are the kind of person to ask things that would be rude or too personal. And calling me sir... wont get me to approve of the relationship you are developing with my oldest daughter... However I can't disprove of it either.... So don't mess up." Looking at Haki then, his pale eyes promising retribution if he hurt Heze, but he had admitted he was going to give him a chance, maybe that would help the younger stallion relax and stop jumping and running away whenever Sonnet came near the pair.... Well not literally running away but he might as well with how he closed down. "As for odd... This Sin.... whatever kind of soquili they are gave Auva some rare flowers, even more rare given the time of year.... A lot happened this night... but from what I understand it was only after meeting with this Sin and getting flowers she started talking.... With the flowers is a... something, a scarf or ribbon with a golden star.... It could be nothing, meaningless but Chandra is worried that it might be more sinister. So for now we are going to find Sin and talk to them, or at least ask them to stay so Chandra can talk to them tonight... We will start by Following the tracks Auva left when she ran last night, they will probably be over by where the healer usually is." Looking at Haki questioningly, asking silently if that explained everything he wanted to know.

Haki blushed a little but didn't look away as Sonnet spoke and lectured him a little, ok, no more sir but he hadn't meant anything bad by it, nor had he tried to use it as an excuse to get what he wanted. After all, when the time came he woud ask Sonnet officially and properly... just not this day. He nodded in understanding and then listened to the explaination. His brow quirked though at one part, "Sin? What is so strange about him holding a golden star...? He is a Moon and Night god after all." He shook his head and frowned realising that it probably wasn't the actual personification of the god man soquili but just someone with the same name... still, he didn't understand why it was so odd for someone with that name and for a star on a ribbon to appear together.... many believed the moon and the stars were special and sacred. He sighed and then smiled softly. "Understood." They set off towards where the healer normally was so that they could follow Auva's hooves... it was usually easy to distinguish the quite mares path, she was smaller than her sisters, smaller than most in the herd actually, so her path was always simple enough to pick out. "What do we do if Sin refuses to wait for Chandra to see them?" He didn't say 'he' since he wasn't sure Sin actually was a stallion.
Sonnet stopped and looked at Haki again. "What did you say? Sin's a god?" Never havign herd of a god called Sin, not that he was an expert but this was a first. Almost groaning at what he thought he remembered through his shock, god of the Moon.... "Ok, scratch that, tell me later when we can tell Chandra at the same time. This will have her thinking its some kind of fated portent." Glancing over at the sleeping healer as they pass by, glancing at the white and gold stallion who seemed to be resting fitfully. His eyes looking for the hoof prints, leaving Carlisle to what rest he could get. Finding the hoof prints he looked back at Haki, nodding him forward putting some faith in his skillss. "Lead on"

Haki nodded at Sonnet's first question, a look that clearly said... 'You know that though, right?' on his face before it melted to nothingness and he chuckled slightly at the next request. "Understood." Sonnet and Chandra made an odd pair, they were lovely to talk to but he would never have put them together. He was so serious and she always seemed a little airy-fairy to Haki.... but they obviously worked, opposites and all that... did that mean he was Heze's opposite? He thought about it, probably, she was so different to him and not just in their traditions and beliefs. He shook his head just as Sonnet told him to lead on he focused on the task at hoof and not the wild drifting thoughts of what he would rather be thinking about right now... Heze... beautiful and stunning Heze... It didn't take too long to find the spots where Auva had been, nor did it take long to find what he suspected was Auva's encounter with Sin. "It looks like she collasped here.... " His nodded his beaked face towards the second set of hooves near by, "But she was not alone."
Sonnet looked around, taking in the little signs , trying to work out what happened here. "Her hoofprints head this way, so she got up at some point and left alone, but this way is east, not towards the others...." Moving over to Haki and looking at the larger hoofprints. "Whoever this was didn't go over to her, do you think it was still dark? Maybe they didn't see eachother?"

Haki looked at the prints and tried to figure out what might have happened. In the end, after a moments silence, he finally said. "It is possible they weren't here at the same time. This second set could have come after Auva and simply noticed her footsteps before turning around and leaving. Not everyone will venture towards strangers...." He frowned a little, it was obvious both sets were fresh but it was impossible to tell when exactly they were made, let alone if they had seen each other. "We should assume they didn't meet here and continue to follow her path." Considering she continued on it seemed that the most reasonable explaination was she met Sin further along the path, she had likely fallen here and stopped for a while. The groves were deep and made him wonder what she had been thinking.... he lowered his head and sniffed the dirt, he was sure he could pick up the faint salty scent of something, had she been crying? He had never seen Auva cry but that didn't mean she didn't, it simply meant she liked to come to places such as this to do so then. He shook his head and huffed, clucking his beak open and closed before thinking better of speaking and simply continuing to follow her path. From the tracks either something was following her or she was running her wings in the dirt.... his bet was on the latter option, especially since the marks seemed perfectly spaced all the way along. If you were following you might have disrupted her path rather than dliberatly not. He didn't stop to see if Sonnet was following simply continued until they seemed to stop. Haki could tell she eventually turned back, that this was the furtherst point she went... and sure enough, there were a second set of prints, this time closer, they even seemed to be concentrated close to her as if the owner had shifted or shuffled, come close to her before backing off again. "Here." He said with confidence, "I think she met Sin here."
Sonnet followed along, frowning at the marks either side of Auva's hoof prints, content to let Haki take the lead in the tracking as it wasn't his speciality. Frowning when they reached the end of the line, noting how close the hoof prints got together. hiffing a little when he spotted a couple of petals that had come loose near them. "Yes, she met Sin here... this is where she got the flowers... Right now to follow him back to whever he is..." Yawning a little, not usually up this late but he would get this done and ask this Sin to drop by, if only to appease parental curiosity.
