Ganymede might not be afraid of her, but despite the tough act Oberon was attempting and failing... he really just wanted her to go away. She was too calm, too... calculating... or maybe she was just a sociopath who just knew what she was doing, which made him even more anxious. Had she killed before? Had other chibis been whipped or strangled to death?
“I’m not a baby!” he countered, his hands balled up into fists to stop the sudden tremors that threatened to overtake him. Maybe he was too young to understand what she was really saying, but not knowing what she meant scared him.
Despite wanting to prove that he wasn’t a coward, when he was called he slowly backed away towards Ganymede, not letting the Lieutenant out of his sight lest she grab at him again.
The adrenaline that had kept him alert and mostly pain-free was starting to wear off, along with his desire to fight back. If Ganymede could just take him home now, he would be perfectly happy.

So the little one's name was 'Oberon'? A little blasé for the consort of the court of the faerie. "Chansons de geste will not be written, instead burned of the honors of this mediocre Merowech's brother." "The exact same thing that is stopping any man, woman or child from injuring another." Schörl pulled her mouth straight. Not much of a philosopher and pragmatist, this one. "Absolutely nothing." "Or if you prefer, choice. " "The same thing preventing you from attacking me right now. We could continue, if you chose to. If your priorities prefer." Schörl kept pacing slowly nearer shadow and the earlier obstacles of the deeper alley. Active retreat was perhaps the best option, rather than letting this one think out every aspect of his own strategy. She threw her crop right at the eternal's face, and made a break for it.

Ganymede was not one to strategize.
He tried from time to time, he endeavored to face down his opponents, whether they be youma or human, with some sort of a plan. It was easier with youma, whose behavior he could sometimes predict, and who he could often lure into some sort of trap of his own making.
Human opponents… people… they were much more difficult for him to face, and for the most part he ended up relying more on instinct when he faced them. The youma were monsters, and he could easily convince himself that they needed to be eradicated for the greater good.
But people… the uniform, the weapons, the war… this wasn’t all they were. They had lives outside of this—or at least that was what he’d always told himself. Somewhere beneath the Chaos dwelt a normal person lost beneath a veil of darkness, sometimes bent and twisted until they were no longer recognizable as human, but still there, still living, still capable of being human again.
This time he felt a little of that—a little fear, a little regret—but he also felt something that, at the moment, burned much stronger than that. She had hurt Oberon. All Ganymede had to do was look at him to see what she’d done. He could see the fear on Oberon’s face, hear it in his voice, and in his mind’s eye he could imagine the terrible ordeal Oberon must have gone through before he’d arrived.
Who would do that to a child?
How could he let her?
The crop in his face distracted him for a brief moment, startling him out of his thoughts, and he watched as the Lieutenant ran for it.
Part of him wanted to let her go.
Another part of him didn’t want to be so kind.
As he wrapped an arm around Oberon’s shoulders, Ganymede kept his gaze locked onto the Lieutenant’s retreating figure, tapped into his magic, and mumbled, “Searing Passion…”** Basically his magic makes an enemy feel a desire so strong it causes them to feel as if they’re burning up from the inside, with no visible flames.Ivynian I've been looking for opportunities to nudge Ganymede into using his Eternal attack more, but you are more than welcome to have Schörl avoid it if you wish!

The alley was lengthening out, turns in sight to bring her out of theirs and to the relative safety of anonymity. She didn't hear the sound of heels on pavement, or on brick in the case of leaping to high ground. She didn't hear the whispered words, but that wasn't exactly a necessary. She wanted a pipe. God's blood she wanted a pipe. Flaming holy sun balls she really, really wanted a pipe like RIGHT NOW. Like the worst jonesing nic-fit except she felt really ....burning holy possession hot. She made a guttural, feral noise, stumbling shoulder-first into the wall, rolling off it in stutter-steps around the corner and flailing madly at her vest and stock tie. Screw public nudity, that stuff needed to come off. Or was she on fire? No, no there was no fire and under her shirt on her chest there didn't look to be any growing blotches of open blackening skin. Just really apparent flush. Lt. Schörl stumbled out of the alleys and down on all fours before rolling like it was a elementary fire drill a moment, leaving vest and stock tie at least behind. The shirt was torn open, but abandoning it seemed pointless if there was no actual fire. Otherwise it felt like she could light her damned pipe just sticking her finger down the bowl. It had to be something one of them did. Probably the older one. In the frills. There wasn't anything for it right then. She had to get away first,..... and smoke her pipe. She scrambled up again, flailing still, and disappeared down other alleys. Enough turns and she could power down and disappear entirely, blend in. Blend away, going, gone. Sunshine Alouette I...don't know if you'll want to post next or guine for finishes? Since neither is actively pursuing other than attacking I'm going to have this be her exit out to close her part in the Rp. Thanks for the storytelling, either way! I'm glad she could provide a target vile enough to goad the use of his power. Guine Sorry for posting out of order, but I saw that you've been posting in the plot threads forum...so idk? It's been about a month, and I'd like to see this finished out. It was a lot of fun to do, regardless, and thanks for the opportunity with so many of your characters.

There was nothing much for Oberon to do besides wait for the end of this confrontation, wondering what would happen or how Ganymede would get them out of this. Would the negaverse officer try to come back to hurt them? Would she bring others?
His eyes widened as he heard the words of Ganymede’s attack mumbled, and he looked up at his savior and guardian. In the times they’d fought together, it was a rare occurrence for him to hear those words, even if they quickened the time in which youma were dusted.
Whenever the attack had been used previously, it didn’t take very long for a weakened youma to burst into dust. And hesitantly, Oberon glanced around to see where the Lieutenant had gone, wondering just what would happen to her.
Thankfully she didn’t turn into dust, but she did react rather strangely, as though she was burning...? But there were no flames...
For a moment... for a long sickening moment, he could sort of understand why Ganymede was so opposed to using his magic...
But for now, they had to get away. “Come on,” he encouraged, reaching up to hold onto the senshi’s arm and pull him away from the scene. He figured they could use each other’s support right now. He’d be sure to thank Ganymede later for getting him out alive. Ivynian Sure thing! Thanks as well!
