"I guess," Dana said begrudgingly at the guacamole discussion which was the only interesting discussion going on here, according to her. The awkwardness everyone else was experiencing was either going over her head or being ignored.
"But I mean, almost anything is good if you eat it with corn chips."
"It's nothing special it's just cake," Evie said, focusing down on her plate to play around with what was left on it with her fork and shrugged. Her feelings weren't hurt over the meal, but she felt like she was treading thin ice and was afraid to step anywhere and crack the whole thing.
"Evie brought it home work," Dana declared. "It's okay but it's not mindblowing or nothing." She turned her attention on Tara, since her and Kent were dedicating so much dialogue to her eating habits. "What did you have for lunch?" Was something asked with genuine interest. Because it must've been awesome if they kept talking about it.
